Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Инквизитор771/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello,
I noticed a deletion notice was placed on this page. I want to clarify that this is my personal sandbox (User:Инквизитор771/sandbox), which I use for drafting and experimenting with content. It is not intended to be a public article.
Please let me know if there's any issue I need to address or if this was a misunderstanding.
Thank you, Инквизитор771 Инквизитор771 (talk) 22:04, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I will elaborate. I am an alternate history fan myself, so I understand the appeal of having realistic, Wikipedia-style content in your fictional creation. But Wikipedia is not a a web host, and users should not store material unrelated to Wikipedia on Wikipedia, including in userspace. Specifically, user pages like your sandbox should not be used for writings, information, discussions, and activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. As disappointing as it may sound, Wikipedia is not a place to work on alternate history projects. (I believe that there are free versions of MediaWiki, or similar software, that you can install and use to make Wikipedia-style content on your own device.) Hi Huntthetroll,
Thank you for your response and for explaining the policy. I appreciate your understanding of the appeal of realistic, Wikipedia-style content for alternate history projects.
I understand that Wikipedia is not a web host and that user pages should focus on Wikipedia-related activities. My intention was to use my sandbox as a personal space to draft and experiment, ultimately aiming to improve my editing skills and understanding of the platform's guidelines.
I would like to request a bit of leniency with my sandbox for a short period while I transition my content to a more appropriate platform. This would allow me to continue enjoying my creative projects without violating Wikipedia's policies.
In the meantime, I will ensure that any content in my sandbox remains strictly personal and does not interfere with the mainspace or Wikipedia’s goals.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
Best regards, Инквизитор771 (talk) 22:46, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to be of assistance. I don't have the ability to delete pages myself; I merely mark them for the attention of someone who does. That person will, upon reviewing the tagged page, decide whether it unquestionably meets the criteria for speedy deletion and whether the explanation that you have posted here is sufficient. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Krešimir Knezović, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
