Infrastructure

[edit]

This page was only recently created, so I'd like any ideas that would help lay the groundwork for this page and this project. I'm currently going over some other projects' layout for ideas. Rucha58 21:39, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that you might try to work a bit more actively with Wikipedia:WikiProject History, which covers more or less the same territory and has a lot more members. I like the idea of having a project which covers those areas of history which are not specifically covered by any smaller-scope projects, but I think that the above-named project already does that. I think having a bit more clearly defined scope, indicating as clearly as possible which areas you do and do not cover, and any overlap you might have with other projects, would be a definite plus as well. collaboration of the history projects

[edit]

Hi, I'm newly appointed coordinator of the Wikipedia: WikiProject History. I was coordinator of the Wikipedia: WikiProject Military History before. My scope is to improve the cooperation among the different history projects andf use the synergy of a common infrastructure to improve article quality. One idea would be to merge small project into a larger wikiproject history with a common infrastructure and the small projects continuing independently as task forces of this project. What are your suggestions? Greetings Wandalstouring 15:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rapid growth - great to see

[edit]

I note that the existing project page is gaining members at a surprising rate, and am glad to see it. I would be interested in knowing how you seek to address the matters of determining existing project scope and whether you would want the regular templates, like a userbox and project banner. I've personally made several of both. Alternately, if you were to see fit, we could alter an existing banner, like the History WikiProject banner, to give this project its own "chart" of relevant articles. Just let me know below if you would like any help in any of these matters. Oh, and by the way, there is no real matter of "recognition from the WikiProject Council". Basically, I'm a member, and I recognize that this page includes the intro, "Wikipedia:WikiProject", so I think I and all the other members really "recognize" it as a project, as it looks like one. :) John Carter 00:28, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An admin moved the summary version of this article to 1345 (summary) from the main 1345 spot. This article is in the scope of this project. Commentary is needed on whether summaries in the main year articles should be encouraged or not. Discussion is here. Wrad (talk) 00:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
