How to recruit writers for these projects?

[edit]

How would it be done? WikiProject AFL is basically single-handedly run by me. Rogerthat 11:05, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You could request for help at the Australian Wikipedians' Notice Board. Also, you could create a project notice (cf. {{WPANotice}}) to place on talk pages of related articles to promote the WikiProject.--cj | talk 11:14, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I know how you feel, Rogerthat - I've basically written all our content on Australian netball. Alas, I've about given up of any help on that front for the foreseeable future. Ambi 12:25, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Same here for Australia at the Winter Olympics to an extent (the mention of Michael Milton and Janine Shepherd was good, both the result of plugging the article on the noticeboard). Look on the bright side: no edit conflicts! (Well, apart from a conflict over Janine Shepherd's year of birth). Out of curiosity, what was Michael Milton like as an AFL player? Andjam 13:37, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I wrote Janine Shepherd well before the noticeboard! :P Ambi 13:41, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, you wrote Janine Shepherd on September 5, 2004, and you wrote the noticeboard on September 22, 2004. Only 17 days difference. :P Andjam 13:54, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ha. :D In any case, I wonder if there's anything we could be doing to help each other out in our respective sports. Ambi 13:57, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I guess having someone else look at a near-finished article is good. And swapping hints on how to write good sports articles. Collaboration of the fortnight isn't a bad recruiting mechanism, even ones that are just getting voted on seem to get a response. Andjam 14:21, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I probably meant Glenn Manton (ex-AFL player turned team member of 4-man non-qualifying bobsleigh), not Michael Milton, Paralympic skier. Andjam 13:00, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I created {{AusSportsNotice}} as general project notice. A-League already has a project notice ({{WikiProject A-League}}), and AFL has a user notice. AFL participants may wish to create a notice also. --cj | talk 14:34, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm only interested in league and union myself but came across this site and thought you might want to take a look at it. It is particular good on the subject of aerial pingpong. GordyB 20:58, 19 July 2006 (UTC) (Pommy) [1][reply]

Junior sports

[edit]

Hey, I was writing Youth Girls Competition (a junior women's Australian Rules league) and I couldn't find any decent category to cover it as a junior league, in fact the only decent category I could find was Category:Children's sport!! Seems a bit weird. Maybe someone could develop a better category structure for junior sports, certainly there are other articles such as Auskick which has no category that represents its "junior" status. cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 13:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POLICE RUGBY LEAGUE New user needs help

[edit]

Anyone willing to help out a new user writing an article on a rugby team? The article (speedy deleted twice already) is currently at User:VPRLC/Police Rugby League (Victoria). If you're willing to help out or can offer some advice or pointers (or just a friendly hello), please see User talk:VPRLC. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 13:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The page mentioned above was created by me in relation to Police Rugby League in the state of Victoria. It appears to be the only one of its kind on the site and refers to a notable club and organisation helping pave the way for rugby league in this state. It was deleted but has had appropriate changes made to it. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated as I am new to this site and would like to have the deletion reversed. Thank you. Wikipedia Day Awards

[edit]

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 19:11, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tas/domestic cricket

[edit]

Just letting anyone who is interested in domestic cricket know I have updated all the Sheffield Shield teams with nice little infoboxes, although the total stats I got from cricket australia seem very dodgy to me. ie NSW only having played 110 games in over 100 years? Anyone know where to get more accurate info? (Seems like CA have better things to do than worry about history).

Also anyone interested in Tasmanian Club cricket, I have done the Tasmanian Cricket Association, Tasmanian Grade Cricket, and all of the Southern TCA side's pages, and will continue to update the northern ones over the next few days. Rac fleming.

Barassi Line

[edit]

Hi - I have just created a stub on the topic. It could really do with some input, particularly from somebody who has read Robert Pascoe's 1995 book, The Winter Game: The Complete History of Australian Football. The term was coined in that book.--Golden Wattle talk 22:16, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I rescued this new article from a slightly dubious speedy deletion tag and cleaned it up and referenced to make it passable. I don't have much knowledge of Australian rugby, but I assume there's plenty of expansion someone could do on it. Thanks. One Night In Hackney 05:02, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

State cricket teams / rugby league team names

[edit]

National teams are generally named (Country) national (sport) team eg. France national rugby union team, Argentina national football team, Australian cricket team, Japan national baseball team. (Notice cricket is an exception because the West Indies aren't really a nation, so "national" is omitted for all teams.) Should we name state teams in a similar way? eg.

In the case of the cricket teams, it would help when team names change with sponsorship arrangements change.

In the case of the rugby league teams, I don't know a lot about the sport so I've been trying to discuss on the article talk pages but haven't got a clear consensus.

Wallabies jersey

I was wondering if anyone could get a photo of a wallabies rugby jersey. Maybe someone here owns one and could take a picure? For example something like this or this. It's not vital to the Wallabies' article but would be a good addition to the strip section. - Shudde talk 01:13, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've created some templates with the hex values of official colours of the domestic cricket teams. I've added them to the category Category:Australian_cricket_colour_templates - that page also has a sample of their colours (some of the colours used were a bit off the exact ones used - compare old and new versions of Pura Cup to see the difference.)

I've also created {{Australian domestic cricket Labelled Map}} which uses these colours - see sample at right. -- Chuq (talk) 05:17, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Australian cricket

[edit]

Anyone for cricket? Scope would include international and domestic, mens and womens, seasons and players, etc. -- Chuq (talk) 12:53, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chuq. You may get a better response at WP:AWNB and WT:CRIC. Personally, while I would certainly participate in such a project, perhaps rather than a separate WikiProject it would be more suitable to establish an Australian cricket task force (including a discussion page, to-do list and a few other tools) inside the two parent projects. I am not sure that the scope needs all the paraphernalia (such as tagging) that comes with a project. Regardless, I am certainly keen to be involved. Also, have a look at the advert above. Any help you or anyone else can provide would be much appreciated. -- Mattinbgn\talk 23:47, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's possible, but what prompted me to suggest a separate project was because I am currently crossposting comments both here an WT:CRIC. A task force would have the same problem - which project is it a part of? If there is a clear precedent that is easy, but my suggested name I thought was following precendents of WikiProjects Australian basketball, Australian motorsport, Football (soccer) in Australia, etc. by being a fully separate project. -- Chuq (talk) 03:29, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am happy for a new project to form, my concern is WP:CRIC and WP:AUS are strong projects with plenty of interaction and collaboration. I am not sure that is the case with the ones you have listed above. As for what project the task force would belong to, it would belong to both. Anyway, whatever it is called, I am sure that it will attract plenty of interest. -- Mattinbgn\talk 06:51, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone have a browse through this article? There's some very POV-sounding sentiments expressed and it appears to have been written to seem like her decision to fire her father and return to Australia caused World War 1 and 9/11. I've removed an extremely strange statement claiming her parting ways with her father and a love triangle with her trainer caused her to fail miserably at tennis but it's possible (if not likely) there's similar kind of bias elsewhere in the page. It appears to be simple Serbian nationalism at work defaming the defector but I don't have the background knowledge to back up any clean up of the article. +Hexagon1 (t) 06:08, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not many people read this page, you may get a better response at WP:AWNB. Cheers, Mattinbgn\talk 06:10, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinators' working group

[edit]

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 04:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

Do members of this Wikiproject have an opinion about how height is displayed metrically in biographies within its scope? In Australia height is expressed in centimetres when using the metric system, and this is reflected in sources. Despite this however, some editors from non-metric countries are enforcing metres as the unit for displaying height (example). It seems a very trivial thing, but the use of metres simply isn't supported by reliable sources as far as I can see. This makes it especially jarring whenever I see metres being used to express human height.--Gibson Flying V (talk) 11:30, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A self-selected and obviously biased group of editors deciding on a move request that could impact on other sports.

[edit]

Over at Talk:Sydney Derby (A-League) there's an Requested move discussion underway (it's the only thread on that page) to change the name of the article Sydney Derby (A-League) to Sydney Derby, bypassing the disambiguation.

It bothers me that the vast majority of editors at Talk:Sydney Derby (A-League) are obviously soccer fans, who inevitably all think that the change is a good idea. Editors with an interest on other sports, or even better, an objective view, are not even aware that the discussion is underway.

To my mind, any sport with two teams in Sydney has at least some claim to the title Sydney Derby, but only soccer fans are commenting. Maybe others with thoughts on this matter should take a look. HiLo48 (talk) 11:10, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The project doesn't seem especially active. Hack (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can I have some more eyes at the above article please. Only two of us have played on Talk page for this issue, so we need more input. An editor who is happy have players simply play for different codes when they move from one form of rugby to another insists on describing them as being poached when they choose to play Australian football. I think even the editor involved agrees that "poached" is a non-neutral term, but argues that it is what actually happened. I believe it would do no harm at all, and be a much better look for Wikipedia, if we used the neutral term "recruited", but he won't have a bar of it.

Note that this has already been taken to the NPOV Noticeboard. No real support for our AFL hating editor's position. But he persists. HiLo48 (talk) 05:48, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Classic WP:FORUMSHOPPING. Already-failed attempts here and here. Oh and I'm loving the civility.--Gibson Flying V (talk) 07:09, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There was no fail at the NPOV Noticeboard. You just won't accept the view of others. Do you really hate Australian Football that much? And are you really afraid of what others might think? Let's wait and see. HiLo48 (talk) 07:33, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Keep digging then.--Gibson Flying V (talk) 07:56, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. And now this and this after just being warned about forum-shopping. You really seem intent on self-destructing.--Gibson Flying V (talk) 08:04, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Warned? LOL. Don't you want Aussie Rules fans to see what you are saying about the game? That was probably the more correct forum in the first place. HiLo48 (talk) 09:07, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:FORUMSHOP states: "Queries placed on noticeboards should be phrased as neutrally as possible". I think it's quite clear that that has not occcurred (more so on the AFL projects than here)... And clearly the question has not been asked at Wikipedia:WikiProject Rugby league despite its being raised on multiple AFL equvalents which also goes against WP:FORUMSHOP (which says not to "try different forums in the hope of finding one where you get the answer you want")... Macosal (talk) 09:16, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
1. I believe I got the answer I want at the NPOV Noticeboard. the problem, and why this needs more eyes, is that GSV won't accept it. He has continued to rudely assert his obviously POV position.
2. I believe what I said was as neutral as the topic deserved. GSV is pushing an obvious anti-Aussie Rules POV. The issue shouldn't have come this far anyway. HiLo48 (talk) 09:35, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't looked into dispute in question, but if it is as clear as you suggest then there is probably no need to shop. Having read the NPOV discussion, it seemed to attract very limited outside opinions which didn't really provide a specific answer (one seemed to generally suggest not using the word and the other that it depended on reliable sources). I don't think, however, that titling the post "Anti-AFL POV pushing at Queensland rugby league team" is in any way "neutral" regardless of "what the topic deserves". WP:FORUMSHOP doesn't make an exception for "what a topic deserves". Let other editors come to their own conclusions without trying to influence them if it is as open and shut as you claim (which also makes the outcome either way significantly clearer/less controversial). Macosal (talk) 09:53, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't actually give a rats what you think about me inviting others, and how I did it. This is about a word in an article. Please comment on that. HiLo48 (talk) 10:35, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia does "give a rat's" about the conduct of editors and that is why there are guidelines (which you seem prepared to ignore whenever it suits you). You are violating all four categories outlined at WP:CANVASS. As for my thoughts on the discussion, you said it yourself: "this is about a word in an article". De minimis. Probably depends if they were in fact "poached" which seems hard to assess. Macosal (talk) 12:10, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If it's so minor, how about you attack the original POV pusher for wasting everyone's time with a non-neutral approach, rather than me, an old, victorious enemy? Obviously a case in your mind of "any enemy of yours is a friend of mine". Your position is so shallow. Sad. Do take a moment to think about your real, subconscious motivations here. HiLo48 (talk) 12:30, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would say it takes two to have an argument. I do not know its history but it seems like two people both heart-set on avoiding the use of a particular word. I do not know nor claim to know who started it. Macosal (talk) 12:43, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Then you're behaving like an idiot. Don't come here just to attack me. Learn something about the topic. Your motives are just too obvious. It's actually rather easy to see who started it. But I won't tell you. I suspect even you could work it out for yourself. HiLo48 (talk) 12:50, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me that both people here have pretty clear POVs. I find either wording fine (just my opinion, based on what the words mean to me). However, I do find having a large and ongoing debate about it a bit unnecessary. Macosal (talk) 12:55, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And Hilo, if we are "taking a moment" I would say that I have rarely experienced a discussion you are involved in which did not involve you being uncivil to other editors. You obviously breached the canvassing guidelines and to respond to that by suggesting you don't care, resorting to ad hominem defences or personal attacks (here and on your talk page) is entirely inappropriate. Macosal (talk) 12:48, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is all your opinion alone. And you already hated me, for winning debates with you and others over Soccer in Australia. You have no interest in this topic, just an interest in me, for negative reasons. That's stalking and hounding. Try to discuss the topic, not me. HiLo48 (talk) 12:53, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Should we get an admin's opinion? I tried to bring up issues on your talk page but the post was deleted. I don't hate you. And I am interested in the topic (have been a Blues fan for what was until this year a depressing period). I came across this post because I look at what is happening in sport in Australia. From memory, this is literally the first time I have ever entered into a debate featuring yourself outside of the aforementioned soccer discussions. And anyway "hounding/stalking" is continuous and done just for the sake of it, not for genuine guideline reasons and in a single discussion. Macosal (talk) 13:03, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is simple. I want a neutral word in the article. Another editor wants an obviously non-neutral word in the article. That editor has been rude about this from the start. You took his side. HiLo48 (talk) 22:00, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have not taken any side. For what it's worth, you have been very rude to me. I have called out what is a relatively clear case of canvassing. Macosal (talk) 01:12, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
...and avoided the the actual topic entirely, while criticising someone with whom you have had major disagreements in the past. There are times here when it is impossible to assume good faith. HiLo48 (talk) 18:41, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Appropriate conduct on Wikipedia is more important than a single word buried in a single article. Do you genuinely not think this is canvassing? Macosal (talk) 03:34, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for confirming your lack of interest in creating a quality encyclopaedia. HiLo48 (talk) 05:40, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I contributed my thoughts with a suggestion on the other page which I believed solved the issue but nobody else seemed to like (only one person responded to it, negatively). My issue here is that you don't even seem to accept that what you have done is wrong (and has indeed led to a number of pro-AFL editors joining in (unsurprisingly)). That in itself prevents the creation of a quality encyclopedia by limiting open and balanced discussion. Macosal (talk) 06:39, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh rubbish. You don't seem to see much wrong with what GSV has done, but you think Aussie Rules fans somehow "prevent the creation of a quality encyclopedia by limiting open and balanced discussion". Weird. I now suspect that you hate Australian Rules Football too, as well as me. I guess I should have realised that from all the nonsense in the soccer discussions. And BTW, the name of the game isn't AFL. That's the name of the highest level competition. HiLo48 (talk) 06:59, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COMMONNAME? And no of course I don't "hate" AFL (how does one hate a sport?) Watched the grand final yesterday (although must confess to losing interest as the Swans fell further and further behind). Not that that matters at all. The issue here is that you have recruited from a group of editors likely to be sympathetic with only one side of the discussion (here) and presented the argument to them in a way which was not neutral. That is what WP:CANVASS and WP:FORUMSHOP are about. Macosal (talk) 08:41, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There would have been no "sides" to this discussion if the word "recruited" had been used in the first place rather than "poached". Describing sports should not require one to take sides. Describing anything on Wikipedia should not involve taking sides. HiLo48 (talk) 21:16, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

venue templates

[edit]

I just discovered {{SydneyRacing}} {{MelbourneRacing}}, {{AdelaideRacing}}, which are navboxes listing metropolitan venues for horseracing, harness racing and greyhound racing. Is this a useful distinction that should be maintained of not listing venues for motor racing, drag racing, speedway, cycling, running, sailing, rowing and any other racing-style sports in metropolitan Australia? We also don't seem to have state-based templates for the venues in those sports outside of the capital cities. --Scott Davis Talk 09:16, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New 5000 Challenge for Australia

[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge and the wider Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Australia and Oceania like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Australia but fuelled by a contest if desirable to really get articles on every state/territory and subject mass improved. After every 100 articles done for Australia this would feed into the main Oceania one. I will start a smaller challenge for your field of focus if there is the support. I would like some support from wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start anyway with some articles to make doing a Destubathon for Australia and Oceania worthwhile! Commercial stadium names

[edit]

I am looking for a policy (any policy) on the naming of articles about stadiums.

I have a strong personal belief that in a quality encyclopaedia we should prefer long standing formal names for stadiums over commercially sponsored stadium names, which change quite often. Links for the commercial names should still exist, but should redirect to the long term formal names.

Wikipedia seems to have an appalling mix of both forms of naming for primary articles. To me, it's not a good look.

I've looked but can find nothing on this. Is there anything? Should we discuss it here? HiLo48 (talk) 23:24, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Doug Ring with the Australian cricket team in England in 1948 for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. RunningTiger123 (talk) 16:41, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is a titling RFC at Wikipedia talk:Article titles that will affect many articles at this project. There was discussion of making the RfC handled bit by bit before all projects understood the ramifications with entertainment being singled out next in a deleted draft, and other projects after that. Whether you agree or don't agree please join in the discussion for this massive Wikipedia change. Fyunck(click) (talk) 10:37, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Australian Retired Boxer Justann Crawford

[edit]

I'm working on the former Olympic boxer Justann Crawford's stub as an assignment and I need some help.

1. Tracing of newspaper clippings I managed to contact Justann Crawford himself on Facebook and he sent me a bunch of printed newspaper clippings about him, but the info for citations is cut out. I tried Trove but none of the clippings he sent me are coming up, is there any way I could trace these clippings?

2. "Academic Sources" for Olympians? I'm trying my best to find "academic sources" to fulfill the requirements for the assignment, but I found one single journal article called The Sport of Racism by Colin Tatz and that's it. Im aware that I could not use self-written biographies, but I did find a lot more information on online interviews with him. Is it common for athletes to lack academic journals/ research? I took a look at biographies of other boxers and they too rely on non-academic sources for their wiki biographies, so I'm asking for some advice. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hopefullynotilliterate (talkcontribs) 09:44, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User script to detect unreliable sources

[edit]

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

Jim Comerford: not a sportsperson(?)

[edit]

Hello, I hope this is the right place for this.

Jim Comerford has been declared to be within the scope of this WikiProject but I don't think it belongs in the Australian Sports or even Sports WikiProjects at all. I'm not aware that Comerford was ever particularly involved in sport, though I suppose I could well be missing something. Not everyone from Kurri Kurri is a rugby league professional, though I admit it may be close. ;) If Comerford has a sports connection that I'm not aware of, please give me an RS and I'll update his article; otherwise he should probably be removed from both the Sports and Australian Sports lists.
