RedWarn says reverting and rollback complete at the same time

RedWarn is saying "Reverting..." and "rollback complete" at the same time. Enviroment:

  • Twinkle
  • RedWarn

Hi @Rusty4321, can you share a screenshot of this issue? The code shouldn't allow for both of these elements to be displayed. ✨ Ed talk!13:06, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
@Ed6767: where can I upload a screenshot? (sorry for any inconvenience) Rusty4321 talk contributions log 18:19, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
@Rusty4321: See Wikipedia:Screenshots of Wikipedia. ― Qwerfjkltalk 18:26, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
@Ed6767 and Qwerfjkl: I've uploaded the screenshot to Commons as RedWarn_rollback_bug.png. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 18:33, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
I recommend you turn off Twinkle's anti-vandalism module at Wikipedia:Twinkle/Preferences#General. ― Qwerfjkltalk 21:04, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
@Rusty4321, that is very odd. Try with Twinkle's anti-vandalism mode off, as suggested. ✨ Ed talk!21:30, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
Ok, but it doesn't really affect the rollback because my contribs show that the rollback actually did work. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 18:52, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Ultraviolet is written in JS or TS?

In MediaWiki developing in TypeScript is not possible, but I only ask a question about the coding of Ultraviolet. Thingofme (talk) 11:32, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Ultraviolet is written in TypeScript, which compiles to JavaScript. The compiled JS is what you see on-wiki. Hope that helps! Remagoxer (talk) 11:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
@Thingofme: TypeScript code is not natively readable by the browser. TypeScript code is compiled (transpiled, actually) into JavaScript before execution on a browser. The final output is a JS file, readable by the browser. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 11:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Also why you do not use the ultraviolet name, and use the 10nm name? Again, because Ultraviolet is already taken so you may send a rename request which is complicated. Sometimes the username 10nm may be confusing because this is an userscript. Why RedWarn is not a gadget and will Ultraviolet be a gadget in the future? Thingofme (talk) 11:43, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
@Thingofme: The Ultraviolet account is not usurpable globally (since it has edits on other projects). As for gadgetizing: the current interface administrators are against registering gadgets which load JavaScript from non-Wikipedia sources, as seen in our previous gadget request. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 11:47, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
@Chlod 7 edits in dewiki is an issue, however sometimes global renamers may accept the request because 7 are not too many and the user is inactive for 13 years, but 7 edits are too many because Ultraviolet userscript is too new. However, in the past there is an account name "Ultraviolet" in enwiki but has renamed in 2015 due to global account reunification. Thingofme (talk) 12:00, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
The script is hosted on User:10nm, the "official" name of the team behind Ultraviolet and RedWarn. The following explaination of the name comes from the user page:
The username "10nm" comes from the lower limit of the range of ultraviolet light wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum — 10 nanometers. Remagoxer (talk) 12:43, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
@Thingofme: Nói chung thì TypeScript sẽ được biên dịch sang JavaScript, và do đó sẽ chạy được trên trình duyệt web. P.T.Đ (talk) 23:33, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Translation of what P.T.Đ said using Google Translate: In general, TypeScript will be compiled to JavaScript, and therefore will run in a web browser. Rusty4321 talk contributions log 02:21, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

March 2022

For those with rollback permission using RedWarn, the edit summary reads "Rollback edit (s)…", for those without rollback, what is written in the edit summary is "Reverting edit (s)", can't you change it to "Reverted edit (s)? For the better, because it’s past tense. And isn't it possible to remove (RW 16…) in the edit summary, and just make it a tag. Thanks. —Ctrlwiki (talk) 01:10, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

@Ctrlwiki—I'm not a RedWarn developer here, but it might be because "Reverted edit(s)" might just be too similar to other user scripts/diff browsers/standard rollback. Twinkle uses "Reverted (number of) edit(s)", Rollback uses "Reverted edits", to name a few. It could be that RedWarn developers are trying to make more "original", but if they think "Reverted edit(s)" are for the better, they should, by all means, switch it. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS00:44, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

When I installed RedWarn on Speatle, my screen froze up. I can click on articles, but I can’t use the search bar to go to uninstall it. Edit: Sometimes I can use the search bar now, but sometimes I can’t. Does it just lag it a bit?24.179.74.21 (talk) 12:39, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

I'm assuming that your account is User:Speatle. In that case, edit your common.js (click this link) and remove the first line to uninstall it. It might be a problem with the userscript conflicting with any browser extensions. If you are still unable to edit, add &safemode=1 to the end of the URL to turn JavaScript off. ―sportzpikachu my talkcontribs 01:04, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
It’s good now. Like I said, I think it was just some lag because it was gathering up information. Sorry for wasting your time. Speatle (talk) 10:52, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
@Speatle No problem! Happy to help. Let us know if you have further questions! ―sportzpikachu my talkcontribs 11:23, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
@Speatle, it looks like your account hasn't been auto-confirmed which is why RedWarn didn't run. You need to have at least 10 edits for 7 days to be autoconfirmed, so you should be able to use RedWarn in a few days.
@Sportzpikachu, probably check how the message is shown as iirc the code for warning people that are inelegible hasn't been changed for a while ✨ Ed talk!20:31, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
I’m pretty sure I’m autoconfirmed. Speatle (talk) 12:12, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
@Speatle, if WP:AUTOCONFIRMED says so, give installing another shot :) ✨ Ed talk!22:50, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
Like I said, it’s working fine now. Speatle (talk) 23:01, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
Great to hear :) ✨ Ed talk!21:04, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
