Outdated?

[edit]

Is this outdated? I notice when I sign into the secure server, it automatically converts all links to secure ones. Magog the Ogre (talk) 21:34, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's true - MediaWiki:Common.js/secure.js was set up for this purpose in January 2010. However, FULLURL could still be seen as useful for the opposite direction (converting HTTPS URLs back for those who are only logged in on the HTTP server). Regards, HaeB (talk) 02:13, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say not outdated. FULLURL doesn't require JavaScript. secure.js does. I like secure.js very much, though. —C45207 | Talk 06:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could the essay be considered outdated on the basis that it would be easier for editors to use protocol-relative URLs (e.g. //en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Time_Machine&diff=497726170&oldid=496708425? (I am not commenting on secure.js or secure new.js, just the essay.) SoledadKabocha (talk) 04:53, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
