Wikipedia talk:Leave it to the lawyers

I don't understand any of this. Would you also say that if there were some case between third parties, say, a company I liked or someone I knew, that it is wrong to talk about what I disagree with in the theory of those lawsuits? That in general people just shouldn't be allowed to do online discussion of issues, and should just let the lawyers go off in their own special little forum to decide for all the rest of us what should be?

This is especially problematic since everything about online interaction is in perpetual litigation that never ends.

It might be more useful if you could explain the specific things an editor can do that would prejudice the case of some other Wikipedia member or the WMF, though I suppose then some wag would register an account every day and do it to annoy people.

You have a very tough sell trying to convince people we should cheerfully accept not having any right to talk about the issues that affect our actions here on Wikipedia. Wnt (talk) 17:41, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
