Welcome

[edit]

This is an effort to try to bring the [catalyst] philosophy to Wikipedia, and to explain where it's needed, and how people can help the project by building consensus. I don't own this page - you won't be stepping on my toes if you expand and improve it. Feel free to comment here, or just improve the page. Thanks! Triona (talk) 07:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking maybe we can just immediately add a spot to call for catalysts? [-http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal&oldid=13452926] <-l like this? --Kim Bruning (talk) 08:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{sofixit}}? Triona (talk) 09:24, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Think first, then {{sofixit}}. Still busy on step 1 ;-) --Kim Bruning (talk) 09:35, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

A big improvement would be to correct the spelling of the page title. I don't know how to do this, and probably can't because I think you have to essentially delete and re-create the page *1*. Also I don't think this belongs in the encyclopedia itself, but in the "technical" (WP:) pages. Rachel Pearce (talk) 09:53, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

*blushes* I missed the "i", but the way you fix something like that is the "move" tab at the top. Triona (talk) 10:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
*1* Rachel, you should be ashamed of yourself, you have been here two years and you have apparently never noticed the "move" tab which appears above every article. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 08:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Blimey! That's a bit vicious for something I *didn't* do. I _have_ noticed the move tag but didn't know what it did, and I thought only administrators could delete pages. Just because I have used Wikipedia does not mean I have to be familiar with all the minutiae. I do have a life and work to do as well you know. You are the one who should be ashamed of yourself for so nastily attacking someone who was only trying to help! And needlessly too, since Triona had more elegantly and politely pointed out the same thing. Rachel Pearce (talk) 09:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quite spiffy

[edit]

This is quite the spiffy page. I have linked to it from WP:MEDCAB, suggesting that the volunteers check it out. Good stuff! Vassyana (talk) 09:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some edits

[edit]

I removed a bunch of the "needs" and "shoulds" from the skills section, since I felt the message was getting lost in the imperative. Drafting a "how to" guide would be very tricky I think, but I think there are essentials to describe that process worth inclusion (examples, preferably real, imo; and other things) Xavexgoem (talk) 07:15, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I created a Wikiversity:Catalyst page with the same name based on the same philosophy at freenode, having no idea this page was here! I would like to propagate the idea and develop the role across languages and projects. • Q^#o22:52, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
