This course is designed to provide students a forum for transitioning into college. Students will learn to develop the skills required for success in college and beyond. This course is intended for first time in college students, who are seeking an Associate in Arts degree program. Students will complete a Group Project- Wikipedia (25 points): Groups of 4-5 students will work in groups to create or to improve Wikipedia articles related to the course topic. Course topics include learning styles, time management, note-taking skills, listening styles, math anxiety, service learning, resume & career planning, interviewing, reading and memory skills, technology and information competency, free-writing, problem-solving, cultural competency, stress-related illness. Groups will be graded on participation for Wikipedia exercises, participation in class blog or class discussions, peer reviews and collaboration with classmates, quality of Wikipedia contributions and reflective essay.
