Welcome to the tenth Bugle for 2024!
Elections were held for the project coordinator team for 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. Our coordinators are generally responsible for maintaining the procedural and administrative aspects of the project. All of the coordinators, and especially the lead coordinator (or lead coordinators), serve as the designated points-of-contact for procedural issues and focus on specific areas requiring special attention. They are not, however, endowed with any special executive powers.
Hawkeye7 was re-elected as lead coordinator; Donner60, Gog the Mild, Iazyges and Pickersgill-Cunliffe were re-elected as coordinators; Hog Farm returned to the coordinator fold after a one-year break; and Matarisvan was elected as a first-time coordinator. Congratulations and thanks to all!
Returning to this month's issue of the Bugle, the article news section includes three featured articles, four featured pictures, and an A-class article.
In the book review section, Hawkeye7 looks at a recent work on the somewhat neglected subject of the US Army's (major) participation in the Pacific theatre of World War II. Nick-D has also reviewed a recent novel on the First Indochina War.

The September edition of the contest department's article writing, and improvement, contest saw Zawed take the top spot in the contest with 23 points from 4 articles, one brought from B-class to GA-class. He claims the Wikichevrons as his prize. simongraham finished second in the September contest with 17 points from 2 articles, 1 started at GA class and was awarded the Writer's Barnstar. The other entry in September was submitted by AirshipJungleman29, who brought Siege of Baghdad from GA to Featured Article . Monthly totals are applied to the overall 2024 writer's cup, which will be decided at the end of December.
The October edition of the contest is now open. Please consider submitting your current article projects as entries into this friendly competition.
