About application Britain society address

please send me info on Britain society address Marcellintehe (talk) 05:17, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Marcellintehe, nobody here has any idea what you are talking about. Clarity is required. Cullen328 (talk) 06:12, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Maybe Marcellintehe is looking for something like this? Just a guess. Maproom (talk) 06:37, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

A professor running some student editing thing?

This is the AGF way to look at it, though I also see LLMs in use, at least in the summaries, but User talk:Noah Theodore Johnson, whose user page says they are a professor, has created a few articles where most accounts who edited it are accounts with nearly no edits elsewhere and usually who have edited in multiple of their created articles. Could someone who knows how these things should be ran and/or who has more time to investigate than me, give this a look? – 2804:F1...ED:16CD (talk) 05:44, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Erm, I still don't have time to do more investigation, but more investigation let me find out that one of the involved accounts, CronoWiki, is checkuser blocked in pt wiki as a sock of an user who's been socking since 2022 (who does not seem to have a sock case in this wiki). Which is at least suspicious. – 2804:F1...ED:16CD (talk) 05:49, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
User:Opaulista and User:TransWikipro were also sockpuppets of Oliver Lex. This might warrant a sock investigation. Industrial Insect (talk) 14:45, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Plus User:Rabino Eli Schlesinger. Almost all the new users editing that page were socks of Oliver Lex. Industrial Insect (talk) 14:49, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Somehow I missed User:Oliver Lex themself editing the article. I haven't found reason enough to believe that the article creator is involved, with the exception of how quickly after the article creation the socks started editing. Industrial Insect (talk) 14:56, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
@Industrial Insect: Ah, thank you for making the SPI case, I was struggling to type all the accounts, just Sephardic surnames had a whole bunch. @Izno(thank you too!) also requested a global lock for them after checking them, so they have all been globally locked now. – 2804:F14:809E:1401:D06A:A5D1:7293:F040 (talk) 21:21, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

What if a reference link no longer works and the document can't be found? Do I remove the reference, or make a note that the article can no longer be found? I see several of these issues on a page I'm editing. EllieNowels (talk) 19:39, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

@EllieNowels, see WP:DEADLINK. Links from Wikipedia are archived by the Wayback Machine, so in most cases, a copy will be available at archive.org. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 19:42, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Help adding name in a family tree

I would like to add the names of the descendants of Buenaventura Báez former president of the Dominican Republic.

The children need to go under the fathers name José Miguel Báez Figueroa( Raquel Cristina Baez Rauch & Jose Miguel Baez Rauch) and two grandchildren ( Gina Sofia Baez Castro & Ana Amaelia Baez Castro).

I am placing the asterisks but is not publishing OPM1962 (talk) 19:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello OPM1962.
The first question is, why are you adding the children? We don't usually name children of public figures unless they are notable in their own right or there is particular media coverage of them already (see WP:BLPPRIVACY) ColinFine (talk) 15:10, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

foreign Wikipedia articles?

@Enri999 Speedily deleted under A2. Shantavira|feed me 08:13, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

If you are trying to ask about the English Wikipedia, please post in English. If this is about a different Wikipedia, you need to ask there, since each Wikipedia is a separate project. RudolfRed (talk) 22:57, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Page Deleted

Hi, we had a page deleted but we want to see if it can be reinstated HSELLC (talk) 21:59, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Who is "we", and what article are you referring to? 331dot (talk) 22:01, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
The article was for Jerry A. Greenberg and it was deleted in 2008. I tried to reach out to the user who deleted the page but haven't had any luck with a response. HSELLC (talk) 17:22, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
@HSELLC You might try reading Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. Shantavira|feed me 09:32, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
@HSELLC, User:Kingboyk, who deleted the article, has not edited since 2022, and is thus unlikely to respond to your message. I second Shantavira's suggestion to look at requests for undeletion, but, as the article was speedily deleted under criterion A7, it will likely need significant additional work before being suitable for inclusion. If you intend to try to improve it, I suggest reading Help:Your first article. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 15:56, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
@HSELLC: - I've had a look at the article as it was before deletion (as an admin I can do this). What there was amounted to an unreferenced article about a living person. Deletion was correct per our policy on biographies on living people. That said, why not try writing an article in draftspace - Draft:Jerry A. Greenberg. If you can demonstrate notability by verifiability by reliable sources, it will eventually be promoted to mainspace. Mjroots (talk) 18:11, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Configure User:MiszaBot to archive signpost

I currently have User:MiszaBot to archive my talk page at 90d intervals. I would like to archive Signposts every week. Is there a way to configure it, or another bot , to archive signpost on a weekly interval?

Expected Outcome

Only the latest signpost is shown on my talk page. all earlier signpost entries are archived. Tonymetz 💬 23:31, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

@Tonymetz Signposts are archived here. Shantavira|feed me 08:11, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
i'm referring to signpost notices that are posted on my user talk page. Tonymetz 💬 16:35, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
@Tonymetz It may not be what you want but I watchlist the page WP:Wikipedia_Signpost/Templates/Issue. That gets updated (once) every time a new Signpost comes out, so I notice that it has and I don't bother having the actual posting onto my Talk page. Mike Turnbull (talk) 13:43, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
