Wikipedia:Department of Fun/Word Association/Fifth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to The Fifth Link! In this game, you go to the fifth link on the last article/word listed. Note: when counting, do NOT count words in pronunciation links, infoboxes, picture captions, or "see also" lines (including introductory lines mentioning other possible uses - such as "For other uses, see Bewitched (disambiguation)"). In the event that link in that page is a red link, interwiki link, or external link, continue to the next blue link (do not add red links, interwiki links, or external links to the game). If the article is short and there are fewer than five suitable blue links, return to the first link and continue counting from where you left off. If the link sends you to a disambiguation page, use the disambiguation page; if a disambiguation page is the current article/word, use it as you would any other page. If the link sends you to a page with no blue links at all, return to the previous article and use either the 4th or 6th link. Optionally you can also use the 4th or 6th link if the fifth word returns you to a previous word (this will create an "infinite loop").

Example

[edit]

For example, if the last article listed was Star Trek: The Next Generation, you would use United Federation of Planets (not Starfleet, exceptions listed above).

This article is about the television series. For other uses, see Star Trek: The Next Generation (disambiguation). (DO NOT Use)

Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) is an American science fiction television series (1) created by Gene Roddenberry (2). It originally aired from September 28, 1987 to May 23, 1994 in syndication, spanning 178 episodes over seven seasons. The third series in the Star Trek (3) franchise, it is the second sequel to Star Trek: The Original Series. Set in the 24th century, when Earth is part of the United Federation of Planets (5 - You use this link), it follows the adventures of a Starfleet starship, the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D), in its exploration of the Milky Way galaxy.

Additional

[edit]
  • This is somewhat a spinoff of Dice Association, without the dice
  • Branches are permitted, but only on multiples of 50.
  • To diversify a branch, the 2nd word must be the 4th or 6th link. The 3rd one onwards would be the 5th link and normal rules apply
  • Repeating words are possible and permitted.
  • Have fun!
