Wikipedia:Autoreviewed
Appearance
This proposal has become dormant through lack of discussion by the community. It is inactive but retained for historical interest. If you want to revive discussion on this subject, try using the talk page or start a discussion at the village pump. |
Autroreviewed users will have the ability to patrol new pages to determine if they should be marked as patrolled, deleted or tagged for deletion, or fixed through editing by trusted editors so that Wikipedia is not deluged with poor quality pages.
Becoming autoreviewed
[edit]A number of actions on the English Wikipedia will be restricted to user accounts that pass certain thresholds of age (time passed since the first edit) and edit count: users who meet these requirements are considered part of the pseudo-group 'autoreviewed'
. Accounts that are more than three months old and have made at least 100 edits will automatically be granted autoreviewed.
Purpose
[edit]- Autoreviewed status is required to patrol pages.
- Autoreviewed will be removed if page patrolling is abused. This could be problematic for software developers since autoreviewed is granted automatically.
- An initial proposal which would have given the page patrol right to reviewers was rejected over fears it would exacerbate the backlog.
- Users are not able to patrol their own creations but may create alternate accounts to patrol them. Autoreview would dissuade sockpuppets from patrolling their own creations.
