Internet Relay Chat services

[edit]

Re the links change to Internet Relay Chat services [1], those technically wouldn't be considered spam because this article is about those services (and they all differ quite a lot in their code/features). WP:ELYES explicitly allows for links of this type. The links are also to free/open source software so it isn't like there would be any commercial gain to "spamming" such links. I'm not going to restore the links as they were though because the list was a mess needs to be redone anyway. Links would actually be better in the comparison articles anyway though. Btw, there is a WikiProject at WP:WPIRC if you are interested. Tothwolf (talk) 22:20, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think those links are to be considered useless, as they add nothing to the article. The article is about IRC Services and their general nature, not some comparison of them or a listing of all the "popular" ones. WP:ELYES seems to agree to this point of view. I really don't think adding all services on this world or even those considered "popular" is anything useful. A link to a list of popular services might be though and is surely nothing I'd disagree with! Same goes for informative links containing general information on IRC Services, their structure etc. Yarcanox (talk) 11:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, they did serve a purpose but probably most, if not all of those should be converted to refs vs plain external links. The same thing needs to be done for Comparison of IRC services. Right now it uses external links when those should be formatted as references. This also still needs to be done in the other IRC comparison articles, one of which still needs its links restored after it had all of its links removed by a well-meaning editor. IRC articles

[edit]

Hi, I have seen you take part in the WikiProject IRC. Some IRC clients/bots/bouncers/servers were recently suggested for deletion. Would be nice if you can have a look at IRC alerts or AfD page and share your thoughts, thanks! :) 83.254.210.47 (talk) 15:18, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The comments you made on the AN/I subpage [2] may be overlooked since there have been many subsections added since that section was started. The last section I added after the entire discussion was moved to a subpage due to its size. The link on AN/I itself has had an archive template applied to it as of yesterday although there is technically nothing preventing anyone from continuing the discussion on the subpage...it just won't show up on AN/I itself. --Tothwolf (talk) 00:25, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of InspIRCd

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is InspIRCd. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/InspIRCd (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion review for psyBNC

[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of psyBNC. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Hm2k (talk) 13:13, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
