Conversion therapy

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your first edit to Wikipedia, where you added some content and a citation, to the article Conversion therapy. That's great, that's exactly what we expect for edits to encyclopedia articles here! You must have been lurking at Wikipedia for a while, or perhaps read the policy on WP:Verifiability, and realized that your change required a citation; thank you very much for doing that. Unfortunately, there were a couple of problems with it, and I had to undo your edit. Please don't be discouraged; this is par for the course, especially when you're just starting out as a new editor. There are a lot of rules (we call them, "policies and guidelines" here), and it takes a while to kind of ramp up and learn the ropes. In addition, the article "Conversion therapy" is about a controversial topic, and is even more difficult to edit, even for experienced users, than an average article. There's always a lot of back-and-forth at such articles, and a revert is not unusual.

I explained some of the reasons for undoing your edit in the edit summary, which you can see by clicking the "History" tab, top right on the article page. I also briefly mentioned this edit in a discussion on the Talk page, that was started earlier. Talk pages are a forum where interested editors can get together, and discuss with each other how best to improve the article. That discussion is Talk:Conversion therapy#Trans conversion therapy, and I invite you to add your thoughts to that discussion, if you wish.
