[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Request reason:

I understand the reason why this username is blocked. I also understand that since my username represents a group, my unblock request may be denied. That being said, I want to be as transparent as possible. My creation of this account name was made under ignorance of the criteria for it not to include the name of a group. I admit it was my responsibility to find that information out. That being said, I did openly declare on my profile page that I am an employee of the company I was editing an article for. This seemed to be the right thing to do according to the COI criteria. I was also in the midst of doing the same thing in the Talk page of the article I created when this account was blocked. I believe the edits I made on this account were made in good faith (content was sourced properly, I added only notable article, and I tried to be objective and as open as possible. As a result, I do not think any of my edits (including edits made previously under my IP address) warrant the block. The only justification for this block, in my opinion, is the nature of the username. I believe that other than the nature of the username, I have shown that everything I have done has been in keeping with Wikipedia guidelines. Please reconsider this block. One of the suggestions above is for me to create an account with a username that represents only me, but I cannot do that while the IP address is blocked. I attempted to post on the IP address page to have the block removed on the IP address, but I was told I need to put in the request here. I promise to use my account for only objective, good-faith edits (as I have only done to date) that support Wikipedia’s larger purposes, and if I fail that in any blatant way, I accept future indefinite blocking. Decline reason:

I have no doubt that your editing has been done entirely in good faith, and I do appreciate the fact that you clearly declared your conflict of interest. However, the article you created had all the appearance of being intended to publicise your business and its work, which is to say to promote it. The fact that you appear to sincerely be unaware of that fact suggests that you will not be able to edit on the subject objectively. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:10, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I understand I violated the username policy, and I understand my edits under that username, no matter how closely I followed notability and sourcing guidelines, were motivated by promotion. I recognize that if I am ever unblocked and edit content related to Truehope, it would be a COI. That being said, I still desire to edit on Wikipedia. If I can be approved to edit under a different username, I promise to edit only content not related to Truehope, similar to the edits I made under User:66.18.211.227. If this is at all possible, I would like to use the username thempp. I would be happy to create the account if I have to; I just don’t know how since the IP address is blocked. Thank you for your consideration. Truehope (talk) 21:39, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

To request an unblock for the purpose of changing a username use {{unblock-un}}. This message must not be taken as an approval of any subsequent request. Also please read conflict of interest. And also please note that editing as an IP while blocked constitutes block evasion, which is looked upon very unfavourably.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:08, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I will try that. I remembered there was a separate template, but could not find it again. And for the record, I have not edited under the IP address; it is blocked, too. ;-) —Truehope (talk) 22:18, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow nobody seems to have noticed that in the block notice you were told you could simply create a new account. Apparently the admin who issued the block also failed to notice this discrepancy. I have adjusted your block settings to match that notice, you may simply create a new account with a non-infringing name. Please do remain aware of our conflict of interest policy. Great! Thank you so much! Truehope (talk) 16:15, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, when I try to create a new account, I receive a notice that 66.18.211.227 is still blocked from editing, disallowing me from creating an account. Truehope (talk) 16:19, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, it looks like the block expires tonight, so I will try again tomorrow. Thanks, everyone! Truehope (talk) 16:23, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
