Heads up

[edit]

I've just undone your speedy deletion of Centro Karratha. I'm not sure whether the article should exist, but the speedy deletion tag on it was clearly inappropriate ... it was certainly not patent nonsense as it was tagged, and it didn't meet any of the other speedy deletion criteria. I know it was two years ago, but it still makes me feel a bit uneasy that you deleted a page tagged for speedy deletion without making any apparent effort to check if the page met the criteria. Graham87 06:43, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for checking. Well, I agree it was tagged inappropriately as patent nonsense but it clearly fails A7 or advert CSD criteria so in my opinion the deletion was reasonable. Anyway, I see the article is a redirect to another topic now so I think there's no problem left. Greetings. --Tone 08:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

why?

[edit]

Why has been deleted the page "Anna Jordan" She is a well-known painter in Hungary. Please type in www.google.hu the name "Jordán Anna" in and you will get more than 3 pages news, exhibitions and so on about her. Please let me know, if you putted it back. Thank you very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Karacsony (talkcontribs) 21:44, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. For article to exist, you must establish notability, such as participated at exhibitions, won awards... all with sources. Since you say she is well-known, you should not have any problems adding them. I will restore the article now. Greetings. --Tone 21:48, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've accidentally seen this and have to add that Google doesn't find anything about her in Hungarian pages, except that she indeed paints (as a hobby) and that she was a contestant on some minor beauty pageant. Talented, yes, but "well known" is an exaggeration, today was the first time I heard about her -- when her article was written in Hungarian wikipedia. (Would be on afd there if it wasn't copyvio which will be deleted anyway.) regards, – Alensha talk 21:55, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Wines

[edit]

Can you tell me how long Category:Wines was empty prior to your deletion earlier today? Thanks. Cgingold (talk) 17:00, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I am unable to check that since it is not visible in the history. I assumed that the person who tagged it checked that. If needed, I can restore it. Greetings. --Tone 17:09, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I assumed that you, as an admin, would have checked that first yourself before proceeding to delete. I would never rely solely on the editor who requested deletion. I think it would be a good idea for you to restore the category, as it is involved in a CFD discussion that is currently under way. Thanks again. Cgingold (talk) 17:30, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It was substantially populated yesterday and was emptied by bizarre edits such as this one. Occuli (talk) 17:56, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can check the article's history but how can I check what was in the category yesterday? If the links are removed, I have no way of finding where they were (unless you knwo something I don't, in that case, please tell me the trick ;-) ) The category is restored now. Greetings to both. --Tone 20:49, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know of any way of discovering earlier contents of categories except by scrutinising the edits of the would-be deleter. (One can empty categories and then wait 4 days and all is apparently fine ... not very satisfactory.) Occuli (talk) 02:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

this is a literary paper that was published on line and in hard copy with a moderately large circulation (5,000 copies on a monthly basis for 7 years). it featured interviews with famous literary folk and also some of the best poetry i have read. you had a warning up for sometime and i sent further documentation, yet you deleted it anyway. why?

Hi. This article was deleted in the prod process. I will restore it and send it to afd instead to gain a community consensus. Greetings. --Tone 17:39, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

Hi Tone. If you have time would you be able to translate the Slovene passage in Žovnek Castle? Thank you. BalkanFever 00:08, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did a radical cleanup since the content would need a complete rewrite and it didn't make much sense anyway. Translating the part in Slovene wouldn't help much... Cheers. --Tone 11:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: List of limited series deletion

[edit]

Hey, Tone. I was wondering why you deleted List of limited series. I know it's been a few months since you deleted it, but I hadn't realized until now. I had always found it helpful in keeping track of different limited series, and was disappointed it was deleted (from things it had been deleted and restored before, too). I know that the list itself would be far too long for one article, but if it was split into seperate parts and alphabitized, it would be a very helpful resource. Thanks. Friginator (talk) 03:16, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. That was a prod deletion. Probably the reasonable thing to do is to restore it and send it over AfD to get a consensus from the community. Cheers. --Tone 11:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

how to undelete Giannis Ploutarhos.

[edit]

Hi Tone,

i'm a complete wiki novice and would like to do an entry on Giannis Ploutarhos but I see that he was 'deleted' in the past! Can he be undeleted so i can begin my piece? also, every time i log in and click on my username i get an error and therefore seem unable to create a subpage from my userpage!! any clues as to what's happening?

thanks very much, Helena Bogdanopoulos. Helenabogdan (talk) 18:13, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The article was deleted because there was no meaningful content there yet so there's not much to restore. You start the article with clicking at the red link and the edit window should open. I don't know what are the errors you receive but may be something connected with your fresh account, I remember that very new accounts can't create articles for a couple of days. If this is the case, it should be ok in a day or two. If the problem persists, you can write the intro of the article to my talkpage and I will move it to the article, then it should be possible to edit it. I hope this helps. Greetings. --Tone 21:00, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, i was curious to why Play Radio UK was deleted. Is there a reason for this ? I was going to start a page on this station, but a notification came up, saying it was removed. I would be thrilled for a reply - thanks. Jonny7003 (talk) 18:02, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This article was deleted after a deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Play Radio UK. You can start the article again, provided you can establish notability and add sources. Greetings. --Tone 19:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, limited access, missed the discussion. Did you tell people at the comicsproject? They seem to want to clean up these sort of lists. Duggy 1138 (talk) 02:17, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't think you can put the prod back after the article has survived AfD. However, probably the best idea is to contact the project. Since you seem to be more familiar with the topic, I leave this to you... Greetings. --Tone 12:22, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Camera deletion (Final Destination)

[edit]

I realize it can be seen as Original Research without sources, I know it's true what I have put, but I don't know how to prove it other thsan telling other wikiers to watch the film, that's why I said it it needed sources, as a more professional memeber might know where to find some, but I had to put it in to let them know - is that ok? I will wait before I edit the page with it again. MJN SEIFER (talk) 16:36, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Ok, let's have a look where the problem is. He is often erroneously believed to be the cause of the accident by some of the fans[who?], because he dropped his camera shortly before the deaths started.[citation needed] However, when one watches the premonition closely, it becomes clear that the roller-coaster was already starting to collapse before he dropped it, meaning it that he only caused slightly more damage to the ride, making the deaths happen slightly sooner than they would have done. He is believed by fans? Ok, if this is published somewhere, fine, but otherwise this has no place in the article, true or not. Refering solely to what can be seen in the movie is also so-so, you probably won't find a reference to that, except if one of the filmers noted this somewhere (blog?) like Ok, we were deciding what to do with the guy and we said..., let's put this in the script ... Kind of. Really, the article is supposed to give a brief plot summary and production info, box office responde and things like this. A detailed analysis and interpretation are not supposed to be in the article. I hope this helps. Happy editing in the future ;-) --Tone 18:18, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand, I won't put it in the wiki pages. Thankyou. MJN SEIFER (talk) 16:45, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tone, can you better explain the removal of the article on WHL player Evander Kane? It seems that he definitely should meet notability standards considering his ongoing WHL and World Jr. Championship performances. Certainly, other players of lesser note at this level are included within Wikipedia...

20:16, 8 November 2008 Tone (Talk | contribs) deleted "Evander Kane" ‎ (content was: '{{dated prod|concern = Article fails WP:N, WP:ATHLETE, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Player pages format#Notability standards for ice hockey players|WP:HOCKEY/P...') —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.82.225.95 (talk)

Use of semi-protection

[edit]

Hi Tone. I'm not sure that your use of semi-protection at Smallville (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) lines up with the protection policy: WP:SEMI.

To my eyes, it really looks like we have a couple of good-faith editors who have a content dispute over how and in what order the cast list should be presented. I think that the arguing-by-edit-summary by Bignole puts far too much reliance on WP:RECENT; not only is that page an essay (not a guideline or policy), but I also think it's a bit of a stretch to read it as specifying a particular order for television show cast lists.

I'm concerned that by semi-protecting, you're barring a good-faith anon from editing the article, and giving an undeserved administrative endorsement to Bignole's position.

I have commented at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive182#Smallville page and intend to lift the semi-protection unless there's a sound policy basis provided for preserving it. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 21:06, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent article deletion - The 6ps of luxury marketing

[edit]

Hi Tone, You recently deleted an article I posted http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_6ps_of_luxury_marketing. I believe the reasoning behind the deletion was because the original link I posted for the article went to a registration page. The actual link to the paper is http://winsper.com/documents/Win_whitepaper4.18.pdf. I believe this paper contains relevant factual information that would be beneficial to other marketers especially marketers that focus on the luxury sector. The findings in the paper are based on 350 online surveys of luxury marketers (all presidents or VP's of luxury brands) that belong to the luxury marketing council http://luxurycouncil.com/aboutlmc. There are also numerous sources in the reference section of the paper itself. Can you please tell me what my best course for action is? Should I propose a deletion review? This is the first article I have written so I'm not exactly sure what I should do. Thanks for you time. EVS3000 (talk) 16:30, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. There were some issues with the article... They are all written in the deletion nomination. There are two options now. If you think the article as it was was ok, you can take it to deletion review and state your arguments there. Otherwise, you can try with rewriting the article so that it will follow the guidelines. I hope this helps. Greetings. --Tone 18:50, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why Subrion CMS was deleted

[edit]

Can you please explain why the article Subrion CMS was deleted? the reason was lack of notability but I have noticed that the page List of content management systems contains some CMSs that are not more notable that this one. Thank you for assistance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Intelliants (talkcontribs) 09:02, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The article was deleted in the deletion process, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Subrion CMS. The fact that other articles exist is usually not a good argument, maybe they should be deleted as well... If you think you can address the problems stated in the nomination, the best idea is to take the article to the deletion review. Greetings. --Tone 09:37, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bus garages

[edit]

You deleted Danforth Carhouse and Bus Garage, Birchmount Bus Garage, and Eglinton Bus Garage, citing WP:SNOW. I'm objecting to this, since these often do have history, and can be merged into a list like Bus depots of the New York City Transit Authority if necessary. (Note also that these were originally closed by MBisanz, reopened, and then closed by you.) --NE2 20:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure why those were deleted and restored afterwards... Well, what shall we do here? Maybe I can restore the articles and put it under a single AfD nomination since the case is the same for all of them? Given the fact that you have not participated in the debate so if you can present your arguments it would not be WP:SNOW. Fine with you? Greetings. --Tone 20:27, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Enquiry as to why the 'DJ D' page was deleted.

[edit]

It is noted that you deleted the page on 'DJ D' in 2008, with a comment questioning her radio '1200 degrees'.

DJ D still air's this show '1200 degrees mixxbosses' weekly on 88.1FM in Sydney and also streams online at radio2rdj.com .

However she should also be noted for all the other achievements that were included rather than having this entry deleted just because you could not find sources for this show. Including being the first female turntablist in Australia, placing 8th in Australia at the DMC 2005, and so much more.

Although there are many notable sources on the web that reinforce DJ D's status, further information can be found at:

Deleted article Charles Crowie Smith

[edit]

Hi, on 9 Dec 2008 you deleted 'Charles Crowie Smith' biography, stating it was 'non notable'. Having read the book 'From Poacher to Preacher' I disagree. The man had National renown and articles I have recently found in 1970's newspapers further supported his preching impact across the UK, alongside General Willian Booth (Salvation Army founder) and Gypsy Smith (international evangelist). The main issue is that there is little online information about him to link to. What advice would you give me to support the reinstatement of the article. I will act on your advice. Many thanks Simon Simon777 (talk) 22:17, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You recently closed this AfD even though the discussion had not yet lasted five days. This page was deleted yesterday (done by Iberomesornix) on false bases

1-They invented one reference which did not apply to the subject. 2-They invented that the main page information source (Arnaiz-Villena et al discoveries) authors do not have qualification. This is not true. Arnaiz-Villena is Full Professor and Head of Dept at the University Complutense of Madrid, the biggest and most prestigious Spanish University.

Somebody with a conflict of interest removed the page in spite of that Wiki Administrators specific guideliness were followed.

Hi. This was a prod deletion. I'll restore it and send it to AfD, the discussion can take place there. Greetings. --Tone 08:34, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tone. The one "with the conflict of interest" who suggested deleting that page was me. Don't worry, I didn't invent anything. ;-) And I do believe that the author in question is a highly qualified geneticist (but maybe less so as an epigrapher). MemorizeIt page deletion

[edit]

If you are going to delete the MemorizeIt page, why did you leave the SuperMemo page alone? It seems they are highly similar.

True, I nominated that one for deletion as well. Greetings. --Tone 10:26, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although it hasn't been deleted, what about something like VirtualBox. That too could be considered advertising. If there is that much inconsistency in the policy how do I get MemorizeIt restored and know how to keep you from nominating it again? Is there some policy. I think it's useful information in knowing what products are available and their history.

Hi. You can nominate articles for deletion as well, no need to report each one to me ;-) I nominated that one as a prod, someone removed it and that's as far as I'll go in this case. Regarding the MemorizeIt, you can take it to WP:DRV if you think it can go through... Greetings. --Tone 22:22, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article went up for AFD, was marked for speedy deletion, and it still exists. I marked it again, but I think the tag was removed by the author the first time.Spring12 (talk) 21:54, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Genc yesiller

[edit]

I certainly dont understand why the page is deleted; its marked as an "advertissement"; which was surely not. In fact, advertise can be only made to gain money somehow, and the group about which I wrote this article seek no aim to gain money, even gain more members. I would like to learn how the article is not in encylopedic style. I wrote other articles in turkish wikipedia before, and never had this problem. And again, as someone whose profession is based on reading and writing academical and encyclopedical articles, I have difficulties to get the point of deletion of this site. And finally, if you're not willing to re-observe the article and/or restore it, I would like to have the copy o the article I created it. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yudheyn (talkcontribs) 16:33, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The article (in my and nominator's opinion) met the G11 criteria for deletion, Pages that exclusively promote some entity and that would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. So it's not just to get money or membership, just promoting is not ok. I believe the article can be written on the topic but in another way, this one had lots of problems - weird formatting, strong statements without references (the most open and democratical political party in Turkey), also, I find it hard to see whether the notability has been clearly established. Is it a party, a platform or something else? How many members, run for any election etc...? Also, there are no real references, apart from the official website and this does not count. References should be third-party. I hope this helps... I can restore the article in your userspace for a while, is this ok with you? Greetings. --Tone 17:11, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did get your point, and will do my best to correct in a way which would satisfy the criteria. If you restore the page for 6 hours, that would be welcome; I will rewrite it and put it again, also giving you a warning about that at the same time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yudheyn (talkcontribs) 17:52, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Restored on your talkpage. Good luck with rewriting. Greetings. --Tone 18:04, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for your support at such a difficult time. I will keep that in mind. But such accusations are very difficult to recover from... and only lead to me questioning how I can possibly rephrase words that seem to have very few synonyms without straying into original research territory. Unfortunately, I am getting great grief over a few sentences. The hassle to be taken from a number of paragraphs then hardly seems worth the bother... --Candlewicke ST # :) 18:59, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Admin,

I was not attempting to promote AfterWorld, merely establish a page about it. I am not affiliated with the virtual world in any way. I have nothing to gain by promoting it. If you'd like me to rewrite it from a more informational position please put the page back up and I'll edit it ASAP.

Every virtual world or game out there has its own page. See There.com, Entropia Universe, and Second Life.

This is a virtual world with over ten thousand users and I think it deserves an entry here. I in no way am trying to promote it. Please reconsider.

Hi. I have some issues with the article in its present state. First, no notability asserted, which is one of the things each article has to fulfill. Second, as you noticed, no references from external sources. So, an article listing just the features can easily be seen as an advert. The fact that other similar pages exist does not help, either they should be deleted as well or they comply with the guidelines. However, what I can do is to restore the article and send it through AfD debate, this would give you around 5 days to add the references and address other concerns that may be risen. I think this is the best to do here, fine with you? Greetings. --Tone 21:41, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate it. And, it did refer to external sources like 3rd party gaming sites in the links. Should I include those in the text of the article? I will edit the article so it is not just a list of features. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Epicahab (talkcontribs) 23:49, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Good luck with improvements. --Tone 08:32, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tone, I appreciate you working with me. It seems someone named Marasmusine has deleted the page so I'm going to restore it with my changes. This is proving a frustrating experience for me as it seems that the admins are all taking different actions with my article including someone named Themfromspace who requested the original speedy deletion. 19:53, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

aspirecms deletion

[edit]

What reason do you have to consider AspireCMS to be "spam"

What make any CMS systems listed in either of these pages more legitimate than aspire?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_content_management_systems http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Content_management_systems

I could understand a warning to put more References on the page and I am happy to do that. We manage several fortune 500 companies websites and we where waiting for approval from them to list them as references.

We do now have additional references, please reconsider the deletion.

Thanks,

Hi. The article was deleted as a result of deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AspireCMS. I would advise you to take the article to deletion review, WP:DRV, and present the arguments there, this is the most standart process in such cases. If the new references are good, there should be no problems in restoring the article. Greetings. --Tone 21:41, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would prefer to resolve the issue with you here than take it to the Deletion review.

What would you like to see changed or added to be satisfied we are not trying to advertise on wikipedia? I will be happy to make the changes myself, and I understood the guidelines we were compliant. The article was not listed by us but by one of our clients, we have edited it to bring it into compliance. If we did it wrong it will be fixed.

Again, what is it you need to see changed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.208.43.89 (talk) 12:57, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The main problem with the article is the one with notability and also with sources, 3 of them are company's website and one is a comparison site. What is needed are third party sources that assess notability. That's my issue, if you can fix it, I will gladly restore the article. The other option is if you create an account, I move the article to your userspace and then you can improve it before moving it to article space. Greetings. --Tone 17:58, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Cyberherbalist/ACN2 Deleted for Advertising?

[edit]

You deleted this draft article which appeared in my personal pages because you thought it constituted blatant advertising? There are a few other draft articles in my personal pages, and some of them might be marked as candidates for speedy deletion because they're just stubs, or lack apparent notability, but again: they are DRAFTS, not articles. I will agree with you that the article in question is too much like an advertisement, but again, it's a DRAFT. In fact, it's an unused draft of a current article, ACN Inc. Will you please restore this draft article to my personal sandbox? I'd appreciate it. Mike (talk) 06:57, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Tone. A user previously tried to Speedy and Prod this article on a pair of well-known Japanese celebrities. This article currently has an AfD tag on it. So far, so good-- I expected that outcome and was preparing evidence for it. However, when I go to that AfD, it mysteriously seems to have been Speedy-closed before anyone with any interest or knowledge of the subject could have had any input. You are listed as the speedy closer. Is there a reason the closing of this article was so urgent it could not have waited for a proper AfD discussion? Dekkappai (talk) 14:11, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The article was speedied under A7 criteria. If you can provide the sources, I can postpone the deletion. By the way, tha article deleted had wrong capitalisation, the one in the link is still there. --Tone 14:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right-- I was wondering if the capitalization had something to do with it... Is the Speedy just for the mis-capitalized version? Because the AfD at the correctly-capitalized one still goes to the Speedy... Either way, I've never known an article on a verifiable celebrity to be Speedyable under A7 criteria, and expected to have time to put a case together. The deletion of an article on a verifiable celebrity with multiple starring appearances, and a hit song would at least merit a discussion, I thought. I've also notified another editor with knowledge in this area. I won't be able to work on it today, but last night I made a start with THIS list of their rankings in the past two years at one of the largest AV retailers in Japan. They finish in the top 50 both years, have two in the top 50 for several months, and are in second place for two months. Not conclusive, I know, but then I was just starting out & thought there was enough evidence to fend off a Speedy already-- from the little info in the article, combined with the extensive list of works at the Ja-wiki article. Dekkappai (talk) 14:28, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, now AfD is back and fixed and it should stay there for 5 days. So you have plenty of time to fix the article. Just more content and the case is easy. Greetings. --Tone 14:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. Yes, I intend to work on the article before casting a !vote. Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 14:36, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Admin Coach?

[edit]

Hi, I'm currently looking for an admin coach, and I noticed on the status page for coaches that you appear to have an open slot. So, I was wondering, would you be willing to take me on? I've been around for a while, and I was most active in 2006, culminating in An unsuccessful RfA. After that, I went through some stop and start editing for a while, before taking what became a 2 year wikibreak. Now I'm back, and I'm interested in becoming an admin this time around. I have just about 3400 edits at the moment, I'm active in anti-vandal work, i've participated in a few hundred RfAs, written several DYKs, a Featured Article: Michael Woodruff, and I have another article Operation Deny Flight in FAC as we speak. Anyway, would you be interested in coaching me? Cool3 (talk) 05:04, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Czechoslovakian hockey players

[edit]

Some of the articles on Czechoslovakian hockey players you created yesterday lack original Czech/Slovak spelling (ř, accent marks and the kind). Check here how some of them are spelt: [1] [2]. Regards, Jalen (talk) 08:33, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you can show the correct ref to every article? The sports-reference links have all the correct spellings of the names? Also the DoBs can be added very easily from the refs? And I think these articles also need a {{DEFAULTSORT:}} or {{Lifetime}} and the correct medals? Or do you only want to turn red links into blues? Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 10:03, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for comments. I intended to get rid of those red links in the first place. I'll first do the redirects, the DoB and defaultsort will be done when I find some time. --Tone 10:49, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You have recently deleted an article about a freeware program called CintaNotes, arguing that it was 'blatant spam'. Could you please provide arguments? Otherwise I can't see how it's that this article is spam, but articles about similar (even not fully freeware!) programs (e.g. NotesHolder) are not spam. Notability of CintaNotes has been established. Thanks. 93.90.247.122 (talk) 10:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry, I disagree. First, notability is not established in the article. Second, listing just technical details without any external references is not ok. Regarding the article you mention, that one claims to have won 10 awards. Well, there is no source for that but there is at least a claim of notability. Greetings. --Tone 20:18, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi and thanks for prompt reply! Here are my arguments for notability:
1. Searching for "CintaNotes" in Google produces currently for me 800,000+ results, and cintanotes.com is #1.
2. There are many independent reviews, for example:
     http://lifehacker.com/5136054/cintanotes-is-a-web+clip+friendly-notes-manager
     http://www.downloadsquad.com/2009/02/03/portable-cintanotes-saves-text-clippings-from-any-app/

     http://www.barrysbestblog.com/2009/02/cintanotes-easiest-way-to-store-text.html
3. There are also many reviews in languages other than English, for example:
     Italian: http://www.tuttovolume.net/utili/cintanotes-gestore-di-appunti-portable-e-versatile/
     French: http://freewares-tutos.blogspot.com/2009/01/cintanotes-la-prise-de-notes-facile-et.html
     German: http://stadt-bremerhaven.de/2009/03/04/cintanotes-portables-notizbuch
     Romanian: http://www.cnet.ro/2009/01/27/cintanotes-notite-text-de-oriunde/
and many others, including Chinese, Russian, Indonesian, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese.
4. Software is listed on such sites as portablefreeware.com, pendriveapps.com and pcworld.com
5. Awards received:
     "Editor's pick" from brothersoft.com (http://www.brothersoft.com/cintanotes-199121.html)
     "Outstanding" from softonic.com (http://cintanotes.en.softonic.com/)
     5 stars from xentrik.net (http://www.xentrik.net/software/cintanotes_free_personal_notes_manager.html)
     5 stars from Sofotex (http://www.sofotex.com/CintaNotes-download_L95095.html)
     5/6 on nonags.com (http://www.nonags.com/software.asp?ID=3537)
.. and about 10 more awards from minor software archives
6. CintaNotes was featured in the German software magazine "PC-Praxis" 03/09
     (http://74.125.77.132/search?q=cache:coNYZo_qGt0J:www.pcpraxis.de/mosaddphp/mediadaten/downloads/pdf_1.pdf+cintanotes+pc-praxis&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk)

So please tell what else do you need to establish notability? If necessary I can put the links to reviews in the article. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexjenter (talkcontribs) 07:31, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, great. If you include those in the article, I'll be perfectly happy :-) The thing is that the article has to show that the subject is notable, it's not up to the reader to surf the web to find it. Restored now. Greetings. --Tone 07:35, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
