Note that taking a photograph of an image on a computer screen does not mean it is a "self-made" image that you own the copyright to (and can put in the public domain). Yes, you took the photo yourself, but it is an image of a copyrighted work by someone else, and hence a derived work. If you created your own drawing of a copyrighted work by someone else, it would still be a derived work. For derived works you need the permission of the copyright holder of the original image in order to distribute the work. —Steven G. Johnson (talk) 04:08, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tim, do NOT blank this page to remove the non-free image notices; other editors need to see that you have been posting non-free images, and that you have been notified, when they decide on the status of those images.

Steve do me a faver and delete them all for me and thanks a lot that took me 3 to 4 days to take all of those pictures
They will be deleted when the images work their way through WP:PUI; I'm not sure whether the policy allows me to delete them myself. Sorry you wasted your time taking and uploading them...unfortunately, you are also wasting our time by posting images that we have to go through and tag and delete. You need to learn a bit more about copyright law before you post more images to Wikipedia. The general rule is that, for a copyrighted image (= every image, pretty much), there is no way to "get around" copyright law (e.g. taking a picture of the image, drawing a copy of the image, etcetera, all create "derived works" that are illegal to distribute without permission). (There are very narrow fair-use exceptions to this, but they are subtle and it is better not to deal with them.) —Steven G. Johnson (talk) 03:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Steve

Re: Bengals

[edit]

Well, I was talking about both that and your changing of the Browns' PA from 118 (correct) to 113 (incorrect). Both the Ravens and the Bengals have equal division records (both 1.000, regardless of whether it's 1-0 or 2-0). It goes to common games after that - only the Browns, both beat them. So then it goes to conference record, where the Ravens have a .750 record and the Bengals a .667. ESPN has this order in their standings and I'm assuming they're determined by computer. Also, what's up with your edits to the AFC East standings? You reverted to an older version with different formatting. Pats1 T/C 00:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, It goes by percantage and not more wins or losses than the other team. That is what you got to keep in mind. On NFL.com they have those tiebreaking scenarios. You should read it. Ositadinma 00:23, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ties in records

[edit]

Your assistance is appreciated, but please do not add zero ties to NFL team records, just keep the team at 2-0 rather than 2-0-0, for example. Thanks. Useight (talk) 20:53, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again, please stop adding zero ties to NFL team records. Useight (talk) 20:37, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The reason is standardization. All the team pages look the same in this regard, which looks much better than having the eight you changed today different from the hundreds upon hundreds of others. Take a look at the teams' articles going all the way back to 1920 - none of them show the number of ties unless it's greater than zero. Useight (talk) 23:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updating NFL standings templates

[edit]

When updating the NFL standings, please ensure you have the PF and PA correct. You had the following incorrect today: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Thanks. Useight (talk) 23:41, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

KC Chiefs 2011 season

[edit]

Until the game tonight they are 3rd in the division, if they win, they will be tied for 2nd place, a loss an they r tied for 3rd. Don't factor in tiebreakers, even if you did, the Chargers have a lower win %.--Rockchalk717 (talk) 17:22, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
