About the war on drugs comment

[edit]

You have deleted my edits List of countries by incarceration rates. However I maintain that my edit was unbiased as saying that " the war on drugs is a continuation of slavery" is an unsourced and biased claim. It is at best a personnal opinion. As can be gathered from the formulation "One may say". Same for the "euphemism for war on black people" the article could say that the war on drugs disproportionately affects black people. But the formulation and policy known as "war on drugs" has never been intended to be a euphemism for war on black people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.44.130.205 (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The material I deleted was unsourced and unreferenced. It doesnt take a reference to dismiss an unsourced claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.44.130.205 (talk) 17:08, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edits and Unverified Claims

[edit]

Regarding your message to me about the "Circle Game" prank, let me clarify. The statement that reads "In the early 1950s, in Chicago, the middle finger was used" is not verified by any footnotes. The statement also contradicts a claim on another page titled "The OK Gesture" that states the "Circle Game" existed "Since the 1980s" (not early 1950s, as the article previously claimed). This is why I made the change you currently see, I stand in good faith that my edits are constructive. This was not a sandbox experiment, and it was not intended to disparage the article in any way. Thank you for reading.

Hello DoDahMan - sorry, don't know how to comment on your talk. You asked about a deletion I `made to an article, which you reinstated because you think it is vandalism. The paragraph was deleted as it is libellous. The "source" given for a libellous allegation of serious criminal activity is a personal blog written by someone with a political axe to grind. That is NOT a suitable source for an allegation of criminal activity. You need to show an actual conviction. In this instance there is no criminal conviction nor have the police pursued any such allegation against the person named. This means the comment on Wikipedia is LIBELLOUS. That is why it has been removed. Please do not reinstate. Thanks and apologies for possibly adding to your talk thread in the wrong place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.205.240.205 (talk) 17:28, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I want to mention that this revision from an IP is not blatant vandalism. You should assume the IP made the edit in good faith. @INeedSupport: Doesn't really matter now. After i made the change (which was NOT grammatically incorrect, for your information), i did more research. I found that she and her sister are half-breeds. So no point in calling her Hellenic. You either ARE Hellenic or you're not. There's no in between. Since she is half and half, it would be insulting to call her Hellenic, let alone British. But anyway, it's left as British now, so it doesn't matter. (I have no idea how to format this reply. June 2019

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stephane Graff; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Stephane Graff edit warring

[edit]

Hi The DoDahMan, I am disappointed that you have violated the WP:3RR rule. I had a look at the hist log of the above page, form your edit on ' 04:29, June 5, 2019‎ TheDoDahMan' to '01:49, June 6, 2019‎ TheDoDahMan' there are a total of 4 revert edits done by you. I have informed you, to bear in mind, at least in 2 different occasions do not make more than 3 non-vandalism revert edits within 24 hours on the same page for it would considered WP:3RR violation. Please start a discussion, by pinging all the involved parties and do cc admin user: Ivanvector, on Stephane Graff's talk page and also send a notification of the discussion (provide link) on all the users involved talk pages. This is important and your urgent action is required. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:47, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA I will do that but first I urge you to re-examine the history page, I can find no edits by myself at the times in question and certainly not more that 3 in a 24 hour period. I can find NO edits by me on 06 Jun 2019 .TheDoDahMan (talk) 09:34, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi The DoDahMan, See below. I guess they counted the 4th as a revert.
  1. 04:29, June 5, 2019‎ TheDoDahMan
  2. 04:57, June 5, 2019‎ TheDoDahMan
  3. 13:16, June 5, 2019‎ TheDoDahMan
  4. 01:49, June 6, 2019 TheDoDahMan
I have witnessed a number of long term active vandal fighters violated 3RR when fighting vandalism. They got a short term blocked or they user right was taken from them and most of them retired from Wikipedia even many of us did ask them to come back when their frustration and anger subside but the never did. In you case you were warned but not blocked but admin did require you to settle the issue in the article talk page. Please note that one involved editor has addressed the incident in the article talk page, just response accordingly and get a resolution and agreement to solve the issue. If you need my help then ping me. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:13, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, I forgot to mentioned, you need to ping all the involved parties in the talk page, so they may know about the message you wrote on the article talk page.Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:26, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, CASSIOPEIA. I left everyone a talkback message. TheDoDahMan (talk) 11:40, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CASSIOPEIA: I don't know where you are getting these edits from. I have checked and re-checked the history page of Stephane Graff] and I did NOT make the edit claimed. I only have 2 edits on 05 Jun 2019 (1549h,0316h) and NO edits on 06 Jun 2019. Please recheck the history and let me know what you find. Thanks in advance.TheDoDahMan (talk) 16:39, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Hey!
Dear TheDoDahMan,

I think a misunderstanding has arisen regarding the Stephane Graff article. Attempts made to include reference to Graff's father are not intended, nor amount to, vandalism. I'm totally on your side in moderating the wiki for instances of vandalism. Graff's father, as stated in the supplied citations, is crucial to understanding Graff's privately funded exhibitions at private galleries. This is a fact of life in art criticism. It is important information when understanding the provenance of the artist's work.

Please message me if you would like to discuss this further.

Best wishes, Courbet 1866 Courbet1866 (talk) 09:51, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
