Hello, Suvidhagp, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

A tag has been placed on Godrej Horizon Pune requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Godrej Properties Limited

[edit]

Hi, Would like to know that on my wikipedia page it shows "This article contains content that is written like an advertisement. Please help improve it by removing promotional content and inappropriate external links, and by adding encyclopedic content written from a neutral point of view. (October 2012)". I would like to know has there been any recent review to my page as it still shows year 2012?

Hi, Suvidhagp; I've read over the article and cleaned it up a bit. You may find WP:NPOV and WP:SOAP to be helpful reads. In essence, however, unsourced promotional claims, or promotional claims from primary sources (which we try to avoid on Wikipedia) are frowned upon. If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talkpage. Cheers, Kevin12xd (contribs) 12:58, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How to Change the Display URL of my Wikipedia Page

[edit]

Hi, Have tried to use the template to change the URL of a company person from Pirojsha Godrej to Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej but it does not show any changes after using the template of {{DISPLAYTITLE:PirojshaBurjorjiGodrej}} Could you let us know the solution to this problem as it is being pulled up in the search engine results and showing for the current MD Pirojsha Godrej who is still alive.

Suvidhagp, per WP:COMMONNAME, it should just be Pirojsha Godrej with no middle name. If there were more than one, then the middle name would be fine, but it is unnecessary at this point. Primefac (talk) 15:09, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, There is a page for "Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej" who is from Godrej Family but has passed away in 1972. However, the URL it is using here is of "Pirojsha Godrej" who is currently an MD of Godrej Properties. As, these are 2 different people with the difference of only middle name and we were trying to change the URL for the Senior Pirojsha to Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej & assign the URL Pirojsha Godrej to actual person, it is not allowing us to do so. Please suggest.
Suvidhagp, at the moment there is no page for the son, so renaming the current page is not necessary. Please create a draft using the Article Wizard about the younger Pirojsha, and when/if it is accepted then the reviewer will move everything to its proper place. As an additional note, please make sure you sign all of your talk page messages with ~~~~ so that we know who wrote the comment. Primefac (talk) 09:14, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, We have added a draft for Mr. Pirojsha Godrej in the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Adi_Godrej. Please review the same and let us know if we can get the Article URL as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Godrej.

Change Needed for the Pirojsha Godrej Article URL Hi, We have added a article draft for Mr. Pirojsha Godrej (Existing MD & CEO of Godrej Properties Limited) under the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Adi_Godrej as it says that Pirojsha Godrej is already taken. Please review the same and let us know if we can get the Article URL as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Godrej instead because the one currently existing belongs to the ancestor whose name was Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej and not Pirojsha Godrej (as displayed in the URL). I have moved Pirojsha Godrej to Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej and created a disambiguation page on the former. I'll add hatnotes in a few minutes. -- Sam Sailor Talk! 09:37, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sam Sailor, Thank you for the changes. Now, we cannot access the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Godrej. Further, the link has not been allocated yet, so could you move the content from Pirojsha Adi Godrej(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Adi_Godrej) to Pirojsha Godrej(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Godrej) as that will be the correct URL for Mr. Pirojsha Godrej (Since it is only Pirojsha Godrej). No. Pirojsha Godrej is correct as a disambiguation link which on the page links to Pirojsha_Adi_Godrej. Mkdwtalk 13:55, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Need the correct Article URL Hi, Could you assign the correct URL for Mr. Pirojsha Godrej (MD and CEO of Godrej Properties Limited) to be visible as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Godrej since the existing one (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirojsha_Adi_Godrej) is not correct. His name is only "Pirojsha Godrej" (the URL with "Adi" is misleading) with no middle name. Suvidhagp (talk) 05:32, 30 October 2015 (UTC)Suvidhagp[reply]

I have moved it to Pirojsha Godrej (businessman). Since there are two articles with similar names, Pirojsha Godrej must be kept as a disambiguation link. Mkdwtalk 08:54, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Two separate issues: first off, you're often saying "we". Is this account being used by a group of people, or is there just one of you? Secondly, answering your questions: I understand that this person may well be important, and I would be quite hesitant deleting it under A7 (so you don't have to look it up, the criterion is for "any article about a real person...that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant"), but the article was quite promotional and very far from a neutral encyclopedia article; you're going to need to write an entire new page, so there's no reason to undelete. If you don't have access to the original page, you're less likely to include the same problematic content. Of course, if you want access to the sources you used, I'll happily copy them over here for you. Nyttend (talk) 04:14, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rohit Reddy moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Rohit Reddy, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Hello Suvidhagp. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Draft:Rohit M Reddy, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Suvidhagp. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Suvidhagp|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. John from Idegon (talk) 22:31, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

Hello John, I am not being compensated for my edits in any form whatsoever. I have a keen interest in the real estate sector and even projects or persons associated with it, which is why I went on to create a page on Draft:Rohit M Reddy. I had previously edited a lot of real estate developers pages and even created pages of a few real estate developers and personalities from that industry. Had it been a paid article, I wouldn't have highlighted the controversy revolving around him. He is a known name in Hyderabad and among the real estate industry people in India. In fact, I didn't mention much about his paparazzi image here on the article to stick to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Also, I have tried to stick to Wikipedia:Reliable Sources for the article such as:

In addition to this, my purpose to create this page was to encourage the young entrepreneurs in the real estate sector to keep up with their good work despite a drastic slowdown in the sector, leading to less investments and halted projects across the nation. At such a crucial phase, his stand to develop remarkable projects can not be ignored. All I need is a support from the editors to refine this article to be suitable enough for the Wikipedia. Suvidhagp (talk) 08:08, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello John,
Awaiting your response and guideline on it. Also, I have collected a few more references to support the content and would request you to let me know if I can go ahead and edit the draft now. Suvidhagp (talk) 07:53, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same concerns.
I suggest being far more careful to work from references that are both reliable and independent. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 17:52, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Rohit M Reddy, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Signature Developers

[edit]

Hello Suvidhagp,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Signature Developers for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
