File source problem with File:Sarfaraz Khan VMH GOI.JPG

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Sarfaraz Khan VMH GOI.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:24, 12 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 20:24, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: History of Bengal

[edit]

Thanks for your note on my talk page :-) You seem to have got off to a fine start, just a couple of minor things, if your want to mark a page as under construction, then just add {{Under Construction}} - like has been done here. Also you can just type ~~~~ to sign your name (you can amend how it displays by going into my preferences and editing the signature bit as desired. Pahari Sahib 16:15, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Murshid Quli Khan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Continental Airlines, you will be blocked from editing. -MBK004 08:25, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gentleman,

Whatever has been stated is a fact. Please Check the internet.Just because you are an American does not give the the right to police everything. I am reporting your threat in this matter. You are pitting a Commercial Airline to a dignitary like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam??. How DARE you use the word VANDALIZE. What has been stated is a FACT.

--shantanu2806 06:41, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

I have added back the bit about Dr. Abdul Kalam, it is a fact and has happened and also has caused a great deal of umbrage in India and so merits mention. Also I don't see how Shantanu's edit was a) vandalism b) being disruptive. Pahari Sahib 10:10, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That wasnt any vandalism. As an admin, User:MBK004 should have first verified it on atleast google, before giving a irresponsible warning like above -- Tinu Cherian - 05:14, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Panipat

[edit]

Why are you deleting File:The Third battle of Panipat 13 January 1761.jpg from the Battle of Panipat (1761) article? I also note that you have been reverting on the article without discussion, though I also note that you have tried initiating discussion and I commend you for that. Wikipedia runs on consensus and a consensus needs to be agreed about the image. Regards, Woody (talk) 19:45, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Talk:Battle_of_Panipat_(1761)#Infobox_image. I am interested in your reasoning because as far as I can see, it is not based on any policy or guideline. Thanks, Woody (talk) 19:58, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK friend. Save the picture on your computer. Magnify it. See the left margin of the picture...come to the middle.... the camp of the Maratthas. You will find an / a few afghan soldiers ravishing ladies of the Marattha camp. Hindus and especially Maratthas will find this seriously offensive.... so will any sensible person. I do not know how many people have noticed this. I noticed this a few years ago when a copy of this painting was displayed in India and immediately taken off.

Though this is a work of art... there may be a posibility of it being excessive or partisan in nature. Is the reasoning good enough? If not...please excuse my action. This is a free (civilized??) form of sharing information after all. Thanks --Shantanu2806 (talk) 07:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Woody You have not responded... --Shantanu2806 (talk) 17:47, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not responding, I do not have your page watched, though I do watch the Panipat page. I have responded on the talkpage, it is best to keep the discussion their where everyone can see it and discuss it. Woody (talk) 18:30, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Giria

[edit]

Hello :-)

I came across your article on the Battle of Giria, a couple of things, as there were two battles there should be two articles. I would suggest Battle of Giria (1740) and Battle of Giria (1763) or First Battle of Giria and Second Battle of Giria. Also I created an article on the village. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Plassey Monument.jpg.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 22:12, 4 January 2010 (UTC).
