Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Shaheryar Shabbir, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 16:19, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Read. The. Policy.

[edit]

The policy in question can be found at this link. It says: Exercise extreme caution in using primary sources. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, ...and home or business addresses. emphasis added This includes passports, birth certificates, etc. Wikipedia has no interest in stating what a person wants stated about themselves. Wikipedia only has interest in stating what has been previously reported in reliable, secondary sources. This has already been explained multiple times but apparently your client is not accepting of this. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 20:05, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Rdp060707. I noticed that you recently removed content from Waqar Zaka without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hello Shaheryar Shabbir. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Shaheryar Shabbir. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Shaheryar Shabbir|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:40, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Waqar Zaka. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:41, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not paid, I'm his Social Media manager and You can verify my links with him Shaheryar Shabbir (talk) 14:42, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't a social media platform, and he doesn't own the article about him on Wikipedia, the encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Also, please read WP:PAID, you're employed by him and so therefore meet our paid editor terms of use. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:51, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Listen I'm new to wikipedia, I don't really know much about it, All I know that he wants to get the page deleted, and If he doesn't owns his own Article then I think he can move legally through Laws about all the false and incompleted info written about it right? Shaheryar Shabbir (talk) 14:54, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Your recent edits could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. Thank you. The above message is a clear legal threat Joseph2302 (talk) 15:07, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Articles for deletion/Waqar Zaka (3rd nomination). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Articles for deletion/Waqar Zaka. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Articles for deletion/Waqar Zaka. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Praxidicae (talk) 15:50, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I took the liberty of correcting the syntax of your {{paid}} template. Please feel free to revert my edit if you disagree with my modification. -Arch dude (talk) 18:16, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you would like to clarify your relationship to Mr. Zaka, feel free to add that additional information here, outside otf the {{paid}} template. You may choose to state that you are not Mr. Zaka's permanent employee, but you are freelance and he is a client. The term "employer" inside the template is not intended as anything except a parameter name. The person who wrote the template could just as well have decided to name it "paid by" instead of "employer" -Arch dude (talk) 18:35, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification of the "legal threats" situation.

[edit]

I agree that your most recent mention of legal action was a conditional statement. I also understand that you are still new at all of this. However, We are extremely sensitive to any possibility that someone may have made a statement that could be construed as a legal threat. Basically, all of the editors who you have been interacting with are unpaid volunteers with no contracts on any sort with the Wikimdia foundation (WMF). We just follow the rules laid down by their paid professionals (in this case their lawyers). We have no choice in this matter. Therefore, you should make a statement here on your talk page that you have not made a legal threat and none of your prior statements were intended as legal threats, and if you ever do decide to take legal action, you will comply with our terms of service and cease any activity on Wikipedia. Thanks. -Arch dude (talk) 18:29, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
