Welcome

[edit]

Hello SAMBLAman and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to 2020 United States presidential election, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome!  — Tartan357  (Talk) 07:19, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Abdul Ghani Baradar does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Important Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

A tag has been placed on Clown porn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clown porn. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Leet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Porm. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism in Australia–New Zealand relations article?

[edit]

In the article Australia–New Zealand relations, you changed "some time before 1300" to "in waves roughly between 1320 and 1350" even though the linked source explicitly said it was "colonised in the late 13th century." This looks like deliberate mischief, vandalism. Did I miss something there? Doczilla @SUPERHEROLOGIST 07:46, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That comes from here and I'll add its source. Definitely not vandalism; it conforms to my own belief. SAMBLAman (talk) 08:17, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, nice try. Go for the contract moving goalposts at the end of football season.
The reason for the block was stated concisely and with specificity further below; answered in similar spirit.
Expressing yourself undaintily on talkpages isn't 'vandalism'. And it isn't compiling an article with a couple dozen references about a fetish that's out there, or one that's a further extension of Place names considered unusual, List of chemical compounds with unusual names, etc SAMBLAman (talk) 06:02, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but WP basically has an unofficial zero-tolerance policy on racism— if it’s ironic it’s trolling, which is loathed across the entire Wikimedia super-project; if it’s not then, well… I guess I should’ve stated that even though your ban was for one particular edit, your general disruptive behavior elsewhere (including your suspicious username— if it isn’t a reference to a certain infamous organization then what actually is it?) gives little confidence that you aren’t a case of WP:NOTHERE and therefore no real reason to unblock you unless you explicitly state how and where you plan to genuinely improve the encyclopedia. But in any case I’ll let the admins decide this one. Dronebogus (talk) 06:42, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Editing for your account has been disabled indefinitely for this edit: 1.
