Welcome to my talk page. Please leave me a message below and I will generally reply on your talk page. Although my email address is enabled, it is not an address I check often (so I may be slow in replying to email and prefer to have conversations here). Please also note that while I am glad to do a peer review on just about any article, I do not usually have the time to do copyedits (sorry). Thanks for stopping by and happy editing! Ricketts Glen State Park

Thanks for the link to the trails book. I do have access to it and will be able to use it for further expansion. I will have to look at the HABS report in order to give an opinion about the oil drilling fraud. It certainly sounds like an interesting tidbit of information. Probably won't be editing the Bruce much until Thursday night. I should be able to finish up the trails and recreation section then.Dincher (talk) 19:47, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I agree. The history could be very different and more Ricketts specific. I learned some new details just be reading your last message. I am looking forward to seeing the re-written section. Dincher (talk) 02:53, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Yup. Putting two and two together should be easy enough.--Dincher (talk) 20:34, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Good work on finding the quotes. Field trip tomorrow. Taking the zoo to the North Carolina Zoo. I should be an interesting day. --Dincher (talk) 23:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the DYK info. We'll just keep an eye on things and see how it goes. There's more to add to the recreation section, probably lots of geology too. --Dincher (talk) 21:13, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Good to know that the geology is good to go. I haven't been doing the best job of keeping up with the progress. I am going to try to work on the recreation and animals sections tonight. Hopefully I'll get some work done. Dincher (talk) 22:22, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
More editing time coming Sat. and Sun. Will add winter activities to rec and then it should be done, also need to add more on the trails too. Dincher (talk) 03:17, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

I used the book to make some minor additions to the trails section and wanted to do more, but access to the book was limited. I thought I was able to read the whole book online, but I guess not. Found this on the French side of wiki. Dincher (talk) 16:37, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

I saw them. I really like the panorama picture. Such a typical spring day in Pennsylvania. I also like the contributions from Stone House. I imagine you may have had something to do with that. Dincher (talk) 02:42, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

I think that I am finished editing the Bruce user page. Your lastest FAC is looking pretty good. Dincher (talk) 13:36, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for asking the question. I made a slight change to the heading of the FAA question, adding Sullivan County, Pennsylvania to it. Maybe it will attract more attention that way and then again maybe not. Dincher (talk) 17:59, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Can't see the blog at "work". I will look at it later. Dincher (talk) 21:24, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
I think emailing the author would work. I might've found my California DYK. Natural Bridges State Beach was used as a back drop in Sudden Impact and I think The Goonies. Just don't know if I want to do it or not. Dincher (talk) 21:55, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

I printed off the newspaper article that you e-mailed me, but forgot to bring it. I just printed the link from my talk page, but don't have the info to make the ref template. I am going to start adding and will clean up the ref template later, unless you want to do it sooner. Hope your computer problems aren't too paid. Technology is frustrating. It would be nice to live in 'God's Country' and not even worry about such matters. Dincher (talk) 22:16, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

I just uploaded three NicholasT pics from Ricketts Glen. A chipmunk, the fire tower and a picture of a healthy American chestnut. Maybe he'll upload some waterfall pics too. But it seems like he stays off the beaten path and the Falls Trail is certainly very beaten. Dincher (talk) 01:01, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I can work on the wildlife section of Bruce later on in the week. Slowly but surely this one is coming along. Dincher (talk) 01:52, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

re:Benet FAC

Thanks for the feedback you've provided. You're quite detailed! And no, Benet's mascot is not named Benny; it's just a plain old redwing. But we do have a "school dog" of sorts. It's a golden retriever named Benny, and he follows the school president around all the time such that he's sometimes considered to be an unofficial mascot. :) Perhaps this is something to think about when I get around to designing my userpage. hmmm... Benny the mascot (talk) 00:20, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

My redesigned userpage, thanks to your (perhaps unintended) inspiration. :-P ok...I should probably get back to working on my article! Benny the mascot (talk) 00:43, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi I've made a new map of Chicago for pin. See Hyatt Regency Chicago for it in use. I'm currently sorting out the pushpin option for infobox skyscraper so hopefully soon many landmarks of Chicago wilol have city locator maps. If you would like a smaller scale map focusing on a particular part of Chicago like downtown etc please let me know and I'll be happy to upload some for you. Distributed element filter

If we're finished, can you close the peer review so it can go to FAC. Thanks, SpinningSpark 22:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, the article is now nominated. If you wish to comment on the FAC its nomination page is linked. Thanks for all your help, it is greatly appreciated. SpinningSpark 09:14, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Ruhrfisch, thanks for your detailed comments at the PR for nature fakers controversy! I've implemented your suggestions for improvement and, because I'm having a rather good Monday so far, I've listed the article at FAC: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Nature fakers controversy/archive1. Drop by if you can. :) María (habla conmigo) 16:42, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Those funny clever editors

This is actually kind of funny, in a bit of a sad way, and related to us both. The Jerkcity supporters were apparently so absolutely agitated by our collective temerity in pointing out that adding "also cocks" to the article violates the Wikipedia guidelines that they faxed me a little cartoon about it. Apparently the blobby cartoon character in it is meant to represent you, because it uses the acronym "IMO", which I don't use anymore, and appears to be a cut and paste from your edit summary. Perhaps the fax was misdirected or they got sloppy?

Anyway, I don't want to spoil their fun and presumed thoughts about how clever they were to track me down by pointing out to them that I've lived as an outed individual on the Internet for over 15 years, and BBSes or commercial nets for another ten, and that it takes maybe five second to find my (also public) fax number. Perhaps they are displeased that I posted here that I didn't care if they created another Wikipedia-comics on the topic and thought perhaps a fax would be more intimdating. Or maybe they think they are demonstrating razor-sharp tracking skills. I dunno, the fax got round-filed, after I showed it to my wife for a chuckle.

But I am moved to ask you as another player in the event, did you also receive a fax with a cartoon or other such memento? It's just as absolutely professional as the strip itself, including a cover letter with your typical fake "from" line. Perhaps I should rescue mine and place in spot of honor next to my plastic pooping snowman who ejects white jelly beans from his posterior. Or if you would like the fax as quoted individual, just let me know, as I can bear to part with it. -- Michael Devore (talk) 18:42, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Nah, just leave it alone if you would. I have outed myself on the net for forever, and they will likely be spurred to greater heights, or lower depths, of similar behavior by any official Wikipedia actions. I don't much care what they do as long as it stays in the realm of this sort of silliness, and doesn't cross into overt physical or online harassment. My only firm prediction is that they will be emboldened to make attempts to re-post the contentious and out-of-guideline remark to the article now that the AfD has closed as no consensus. -- Michael Devore (talk) 20:09, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

5 noms

I opened a fifth PR cnomination. The Park Grill was on behalf of someone else. If it still counts as one of my five, you can close 2008–09 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 20:09, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Source reviews at FAC

In Ealdgyth's prolonged absence, I have offered my services as a temporary "source reviewer" at FAC. This is barely being done at the moment, and urgently needs attention. This is likely to mean that my contributions to Peer Review will be fewer, though I will continue to review there, and will keep the backlog summary going. I hope this won't mean too much of a burden on you and Finetooth, and that other help will be at hand. Brianboulton (talk) 21:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Shakespeare Authorship - Review follow-up

Thanks so much for your comments at Peer Review. If it's all right, as I make the suggested changes I may follow-up to clarify some things. I had an initial question: you wrote "The headers do not all follow WP:HEAD". I made a few tweaks this morning [[1]], but I wanted to ask which heads you were referring to and why. I reviewed wp:head and didn't quite see the problem. Thanks again. Smatprt (talk) 14:52, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Harris Theater (Chicago, Illinois)

I don't mean to be impatient, but I am hoping to nom the Harris Theater (Chicago, Illinois) at FAC by mid month or so because we have to get the WP:CHIFTD moving along toward the upcoming new FA% standards. What is your schedule like for it ce?—Preceding unsigned comment added by TonyTheTiger (talkcontribs) 15:43, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I am getting stressed watching the slow progress of Park Grill at PR and this.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:37, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. It will be going straight to FAC after you have had your way with it.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:58, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I have been told at WP:FTQ that they are likely to add Grant Park Music Festival to the Millennium Park topic, which will need we will need 2 more FAs if Harris passes. I may shoot for Grant Park Music Festival as the next FAC. No feedback at PR yet.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:58, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Since we are soon to need three more FAs by Sept 1., I plan to nom Harris on Monday. I apologize if it you are not finished with the ce by then.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:29, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
I have been following your work and support all changes so far. One of the last two passed without you completing a copyedit before I nominated it. Of course, the chances would probably be better with a full ce.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:26, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Torsodog lives 1 block from Millennium Park. Ask him about a picture. Move this one down into the article somewhere else to retain perspective of it with some of the skyline when he can get a better one. I will check on the non-profit.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 04:22, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the efforts so far.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 04:30, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
There was one copyedit question by Binksternet that I left for you.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:31, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Regarding edit conflicts, I won't be touching the article until at least 11:30 central.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
O.K. I will work on the Ratner Center for a while then. I will check back on this later.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:30, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

P.S. For modern Trib articles just find a topic in the article that is important enough to have its own archive like [[2]] and then go back by date to find the full story.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:10, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks so much for the reviewer's barnstar. I did not imagine when I started that I would ever review so many. I don't know if you have kept score of your own, but I would guess it's something like 1,000. Finetooth (talk) 18:04, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Laterite article

Thank you for your thoughtful comments on the PR for this article which I rewrote.

Your help was of tremendous help. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your comments. I have looked at articles in PR and GA; so far I have only done proofing-type editing. I did weigh in for FA on the Galveston article. Did you see he achieved that goal? I have authored a few articles on the geology of the North Shore of Lake Superior (some are still on my user page), and I go into the WikiProject pages to revamp stub or start articles.

Again, thank you soooooo much for your help. If you have time, I'd appreciate it if you'd check the Laterite article out again – new-and-improved (!!) with its changes. Bettymnz4 (talk) 06:58, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the star, I appreciate your work as well. You are a model of what editors should strive for. I'm still relatively new to WP:PR, but I am amazed at how much it has helped me in my own writing. Thanks again. H1nkles (talk) citius altius fortius 21:22, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Grant Park Music Festival PR

Mechanical filter

Any chance that you can find the time to give Mechanical filter the same peer review treatment as Distributed element filter? If not, is there anyone you could recommend to take it on? As before, looking for reviews from non-technical people to test intelligibility (of the article, not the reviewers!). Thanks, SpinningSpark 21:49, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Ah, just noticed that user:Finetooth has started reviewing since I last looked. Any comments you have would be appreciated nonetheless. SpinningSpark 21:52, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

FP

Thank you. This was an exciting surprise. I thought the photo was maybe the best I'd ever done, though maybe this is just hindsight talking, and I decided to give FP a try. User:Juliancolton came in as one of the Commons reviewers and fixed the tilt (which I don't think I see very well) and otherwise gave good advice that helped win the day. I had to add coordinates, which I don't normally do for photos (though I probably should), and the minimum file size had to be 2 megabytes. Finetooth (talk) 17:04, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

You didn't answer my question...

Do I need references for things one can see in a photo? ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 23:24, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for answering it. I want to speak to a couple things you mentioned before they closed the review:
  • I do not read Chinese, but tried Google to translate a few of the online Chinese sources. Please look more carefully at these - they give the area of the church, the fact that it is shaped like a Latin cross, mention the rose window visible on the facade, describe some of the constuction materials (sounds like reinforced concrete and granite), mention the red tiles on the tower rooves, mention stained glass windows, Italian Renaiisanance decorations, etc.
    • The resistance wasn't because I didn't know of any sources. There are tons of them (which is why I said I'd add them). The resistance was over the academic point that I don't think it is necessary. We've covered that, though. I just wanted to speak to the implication (e.g. "please look more carefully at these") that I wasn't aware of sources that detail the church interiors. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 05:10, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
  • The function of the building is important too - the fact that the Chinese government paid for the restoration is mentioned in one of the Chinese sources. More could be said about the power struggles between the Vatican and Beijing - based just on the what is in the article already, a careful reader can learn that the cathedral reopened in 1981, but without a papal mandate for the bishop, then there is an eight year gap with no bishop, then the current bishop is appointed in 2000 but does not arrive in town until 2005 - this should all be explained in more detail.
    • It wasn't the Chinese government. It the province. And the current bishop was in town quite often before 2005. He just lived in Beijing and reigned from there because he was the rector of some university there. He had to fly down from Beijing whenever there was a festival or other duties to attend to. There are no sources for this: he told me himself, so it isn't in the article.

I'm not sure why the FAC was closed. We were making progress. The last one was open for like 3 weeks. I didn't even get the full 7 days I asked for. That's okay though. I'll just make the rest of the changes at a more leisurely pace and then renominate when that's done. The article history is going to be a mile long. lol. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 05:10, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Rogue River to FAC

You may know this already, but I thought I'd say that I boldly closed the PR and sent Rogue River (Oregon) to FAC a few hours ago. Thanks again for the PR and other good advice. Finetooth (talk) 02:02, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. I look forward to reading your latest. Finetooth (talk) 02:16, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

FAC for Sentence spacing

I thought you might like to know that an article you peer reviewed is again an FAC. However, it's not getting much attention, so I guess after another 8-9 days it will just get archived. If you don't think of it as a conflict to comment on the FAC nomination (because you peer reviewed it), perhaps that would get things moving. I addressed all the comments you left on the peer review [3] except for the one about the endnotes (I noted the reason on the peer review after your comment). Of course, I don't know that I addressed all of your comments to the standard you would have liked, so you could also comment or oppose and list your thoughts as well as support. Best regards. --Airborne84 (talk) 04:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

You are the only commentor at WT:CHICAGO who did not voice his opinion at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#Maps_in_infoboxes where it seems the formal debate is occurring. I don't feel right just transferring your opinion, but it would make for a pretty clear no consensus of 5 for and 5 against.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:48, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Radar and Red Rock

I added a paragraph about the radar station. I am pretty sure that we can get an article out of Benton Air Force Station and Red Rock Job Corps Center. For now they are red links. I think I will delink the 648th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, unless you think we can get an article out of it too. What do you think of the paragraph as it is? There's much more that could be added, but I didn't want to add too much to the article about the park and leave it for the article about the Air Force station. (I also left an earlier message in the Ricketts Glen State Park section) Dincher (talk) 22:49, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Well I just created Benton Air Force Station. I think the DYK is pretty obvious something about a soap opera jamming the radar. ;) But I want to know what you think before I submit it and let you make any additions, corrections, etc., that you'd like to make. Dincher (talk) 01:07, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Congrats on Clemuel Ricketts Mansion FA, HABS architectural drawings

Congrats on the FA - and on all the photos you took. To me the most interesting illustration was the architectural drawing from HABS. I've tried downloading HABS drawings a couple of times and come up short. I noticed you had a couple of false starts on the download - could you give me a couple of hints? OK sounds clear enough - but I might have to switch back to the PC from a Mac for it to work exactly like that. Thanks. Smallbones (talk) 03:43, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

I recently saw an interesting addition to Goose Creek State Park. At the bottom underneath external links is a template that links to a flickr page for the park. What do you think of adding a similar link to the Pennsylvania state parks that have a similar flickr page? Is it useful or too much? Also thanks for adding the links to Natural Bridges State Beach. I wish I could see the video. The PCN tours are some of my favorite viewing when I am in Pennsylvania. I am always disappointed when they are showing the folks in Harrisburg bickering instead of one of the tours. Personal favorite tour videos are Kessler's Nittany Lion franks and one of Martin Guitars. I know what goes into hot dogs and I still love them. Dincher (talk) 21:14, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Sounds nice; I saw the Unionville photo already. I wish I could get more archaeological photos :-) Nyttend (talk) 00:47, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Natural Bridges State Beach

Well I've expanded Natural Bridges State Beach. I am still looking for a reliable source about the filming of a scene from a Dirty Harry movie on the beach. Otherwise I would say it's ready for DYK. Do you have any hook ideas? I am thinking something about the butterflies. I like the pic of Unionville and have seen a few of the new Black Mo pics. Dincher (talk) 01:17, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the hook. I chose an pic from flickr for the nominated picture. I need to look on flickr for others. There are many very nice pictures available of the arches. I will look at the rest of the Black Mo pics next. Dincher (talk) 20:20, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
I like the pitcher plant pic the best and the cabins one is pretty good too. Nice to have some wildlife from a park as well. It would be great to get a picture of a nice buck standing in front of a state park sign. No action on Benton Air Force Station. --Dincher (talk) 20:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm okay with them not using the picture. I am pretty happy about two in one update. That's neat. Dincher (talk) 01:37, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Mechanical filter

Thank you for your offer to take a look at Mechanical filter. Finetooth has given it a good review but more comments are welcome. Distributed element filter, to which this is a sister article, has had a very rough ride at FA (which is still ongoing), especially with respect to understandability by non-technicals. It seems to me that these kind of articles are going to need more than the usual number of reviewers to stand any hope of gettting through FA. Thanks again for your assistance. Peer review requested (Warning: Long article)

Hey there. Long time no see, got a peer review request for a long article of mine. Montclair-Boonton Line is a commuter train line in Jersey and after working on it for quite a long time, is about 84 kilobytes. Was wondering if I could get a long peer review. Mitch32(Growing up with Wikipedia: 1 edit at a time.) 14:27, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I trust you well enough ;). I'd prefer the talk page, which is what i was gunning for.Mitch32(Growing up with Wikipedia: 1 edit at a time.) 04:06, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your previous help with River Parrett. I thought I'd let you know it is now up at FAC.— Rod talk 20:15, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the link, I posted a further question in the "Comments" section here. - NeutralHomerTalk04:15, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Cool!

Congrats on your recent FAs (namely the lake and mansion). Wish I had known about their FACs at the time, but it's good to see more geography articles being improved. Juliancolton (talk) 15:51, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Peer review/Gerald Ratner Athletics Center/archive1

Thanks so much for your review at Wikipedia:Peer review/Gerald Ratner Athletics Center/archive1. I was wondering if you could come do some strikes before I ship this off to WP:GAC.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:18, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Buffalo Bill State Park

I guess I have regained my enthusiasm for state parks. I just expanded Buffalo Bill State Park a Wyoming state park and currently have Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park a Kentucky state park up for DYK. The hook for Levi was easy. I am struggling with Bill. Any ideas? I am thinking something about Bill selling the land that became that park that builds his name. Hope all is well and that your internet service is treating you right! Dincher (talk) 01:13, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

The nomination is in. I went with the first suggestion. Thanks again, Dr. Hook!--Dincher (talk) 02:15, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the congrats on Heyburn. BBSP has been approved and a pic was requested. How's the Harris FAC going? Dincher (talk) 20:46, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for writing the hook. Dincher (talk) 14:55, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Millennium Park FT at risk

I don't know if you are aware that the entire Millennium Park Topic is at risk. On March 13, Park Grill was created. It has been decided that that should be included in the topic and that if it is not a GA by June 13, the topic will be demoted. I was waiting for HughD (talk · contribs) to clean it up and he abandoned it a few weeks ago. I did some minor fixes and put it up at GAC. BrianBoulton, had reviewed it at PR. Do you know anyone who you might encourage to review it at GAC? Also, any tinkering that you may want to do with the article would surely improve it.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:03, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Now that Harris seems to be on its way, you might want to look at Grant Park Music Festival, which is the next most developed article and the next FAC.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:30, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

A couple of problematic PRs

An editor has put up two articles for PR on 6 June: Water Newton Treasure and Ginger (mummy). Apart from the breaching of the one per day rule, there are problems with these. They are little more than stubs, 201 and 292 words respectively, and provide only minimal information on their topics. I have left a note on the PR page of the former, but perhaps you could look at them and add your advice to my comment. Thanks. Brianboulton (talk) 00:13, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

PS Have you enjoyed listening to Mahler's Eighth yet?
By the way, I have proposed Mahler for Today's Faetured Article for 7 July. Any support for this would be very welcome. Brianboulton (talk) 22:49, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao back up

A lot of work has been done to it since you last saw it, and since you're pretty familiar with it now, I thought you might want to take another crack at it. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 15:34, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Covered Bridge

Thanks for the encouragement and the input. I know the "manual" there's actually an updated version in the works. Your articles on the subject are mightily impressive, to the level of intimidation almost. The best of the many I've pulled up. I'm still committed to and working towards positive change. JosephGJohnson (talk) 23:39, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks very much for your review of the List of number-one indie hits of 2009 (UK) article - your advice has been quite helpful. Thanks in particular for drawing my attention to WP:NFCC. I think I've sorted out the problem with the overlong references, and I've replaced the non-free images with free ones. Cheers again for your help! A Thousand Doors (talk) 20:47, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Congrats

Congrats on getting Harris Theater (Chicago, Illinois) to FA! I walk past the place all the time, and I learned a lot from the article. Nicely done. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 01:14, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Good news for you too! I reworked Grand Lake St. Marys State Park today. It's pretty much an entirely new article. Previously it was a cut and paste job,for the most part. I nominated it for DYK. My advice is to stay out of the water! I think it's eligible for DYK since it's basically an all new article. However it does not meet the five fold expansion requirment. I made a not of this on the DYK nomination page. Hopefully it passes. --Dincher (talk) 02:59, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Kansas locator template

The Kansas locator map template thing-a-ma-jig is off. Could you fix it please? I am working on Lake Scott State Park and if you compare the locator dot on the map in the infobox with the location of Scott County, Kansas on the Kansas map you'll see that the dot has the park place about 2 or 3 square counties too far east. Thank you. Dincher (talk) 19:07, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing it. The DYK here is obvious, DYK... that the only known Indian pueblo in Kansas is in Lake Scott State Park. If you have a tweak in wording, I would appreciate it. Dincher (talk) 20:59, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
The nomination is in thanks for the tweaked hook. Dincher (talk) 21:16, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

I saw the new pic of Ganoga Falls. I really like it. It looks old-timey, which it is. I too was looking to fix deadlinks. The history links for Presque Isle State Park are dead. I imagine they'd be easy to fix. Francis Bok has several deadlinks that weren't vital so I just removed them The same can't be said for PISP. I will attempt to fix them now. Dincher (talk) 21:37, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi Ruhrfish, I've read this article a number of times (because it's interesting) and find it to be lacking in detail. I've searched for information and found information exists in reliable sources not yet included in the article. Based on that I've opposed the FAC per 1b and c. The editor is pushing back (new experience for me) and wondered if you could have a look at my oppose to see whether I'm completely out-of-line. I'm happy to strike all my comments if needed. Thanks. (Btw - came to you, because I noted your name on the PR). Truthkeeper88 (talk) 17:50, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Replied on my talkpage. You've done a wonderful job. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 12:56, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Peer review University of Texas at Dallas follow-up request

Hi Ruhrfish, Thanks for your peer review, UTD peer review page. I believe there has been a substantial improvement to the University of Texas at Dallas article using your advice and wondering if you might have time to take a quick look just to see if we are on the right track. Stewartstown, etc.

I just reverted an offensive edit at Stewartstown, Pennsylvania. Could you delete it please? I mean delete it so it's no longer in the record. Not sure if this can be done. Dincher (talk) 20:38, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. Is that something only an admin can do? Dincher (talk) 20:41, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
If your most recent emails are regarding Town Creek Indian Mound, then the answer is yes. If you have emailed since then, the answer is no. Thanks for stitching the panorama together, I added it to the bottom of the article. I wish I had stood in the middle and made the panorama picture, but oh well. Could you do me a favor in the next couple of hours? I am expanding Falling Waters State Park with hopes of getting it to DYK. I cannot access the 5 fold checker tool here at work. It's just one of those links that are blocked. Could you look and see if I have expanded it five fold? I don't think I have, but maybe I am wrong. I am running out of info to add. Dincher (talk) 23:41, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! Do you have any hook ideas? I have several, but they are jumbled at this point. Dincher (talk) 00:57, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
How about... that remnants of a gristmill, distillery and oil well have been found at Falling Waters State Park in Florida? or maybe something to do with the highest waterfall Dincher (talk) 01:09, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I added the nugget about the highest falls to the hook. --Dincher (talk) 03:29, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

I am on a bit of a wiki roll lately. I am going to work on a Minnesota state park next. They're official websites are pretty good. Many states don't have much to work with as far as their state parks websites go. Michigan is especially poor. Pennsylvania's are among the best. Ohio's are good too. Quick favor

When you get a chance, do you think you could check out some links for me? I'm having Kent, Ohio reviewed in FAC and there are three links that won't open for the reviewer but open just fine for me on different browsers and different computers. If you have a chance, I would appreciate you checking them out and posting at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Kent, Ohio/archive1 if you can open the links or not. The links are: [5], [6], [7] Thanks! --JonRidinger (talk) 21:34, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Torpedo & Tornado

Thanks for congrats×2 on the 2 torpedoes. I considered Torpedo, PA a long-term goal, so its nice that its done (however, ironically, the one day that stat.grok.se doesn't record any results is the day its up at DYK).

Unrelated, but somewhat interesting, a weak tornado touched down on Presque Isle the other day.[8] Niagara Don't give up the ship 02:16, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Possibly. It didn't do any significant damage, nor was it part of an outbreak (like Quehanna was), however the park was closed all day Monday to allow for cleanup. Might be worth a mention in the "Geology and climate" section. Niagara Don't give up the ship 04:59, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Next project

Hi! For my next project, I'm trying to take Shinan District (which St. Michael's is in) both to DYK and GA. I have a draft at User:Noraft/Sandbox/4, and if you get some time, I'd love some feedback on what you think it will need in order to pass GA review. Thanks! ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 19:58, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
