January 2018

[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Kirati people, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:42, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I had made some change in article because the information written about Kirat people are not accurate. The information was false and written by someone who does not have the knowledge of Kirat. I am not going to re-add it . You have to undone my writing to Kirat people page. I have already made a link to it when I edit the Kirat people page . You check my previous addition to Kirat people. There is lot of Kirat people website that supports my edit of this page.

Kirat people hardly ever protect their culture. Ancient kirat culture was nearly destroyed or used by late invaders . They don't have much evidence to support source unless it is listed by foreigners through ancient books. Risingsun121 (talk) 14:25, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You never, in your changes, added any new sources. Now you might have some local knowledge but perhaps this is the downside of Wikipedia: it's institutionally wrong. In some way or other this is a good thing, because the requirement to cite sources for our work means that other people can verify what is written in the encyclopedia. They can't just pass it off as truth. Sometimes, sources are called out as wrong, lazy journalism or whatnot. In this case, if we can find a correct source, all is good. If this is what has been repeatedly said, we can't prove that the source(s) is/are wrong. We lose ability to verify it, but uncited info is as bad as wrong info.
Principles aside, there are a few other issues with your work -- you changed content but kept the same source, so you misrepresented what the source said. Please, don't do that. Bottom line, find some reliable sources that say what you say (you can find suggestion about what this implies at WP:IRS), and then you can re-add the content. Thanks, !dave 15:17, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You accused me of not providing a source.

"There are four different groups of Kirati tribes, including Himalayan Kiratis, Tibetan-Himalayan, Khas-Kiratis and the Kacharis of South Asian region. Their populations are such largest comparing to any other ethnic groups of South Asia."

"Paleo-Newar population, Sherpa, Bodo-Kirati or Kachari "

These are listed as Kirati people or tribes without any supporting sources too. But you keep it. You asked me for a reliable source but can't see some information of kirat people or tribes listed without any sources. Risingsun121 (talk) 16:18, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If they are unsourced, you may remove them. In this I don't see any <ref> after what you wrote. !dave 16:27, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that questions have been answered. If I'm wanted here, please wp:ping me. Jim1138 (talk) 21:06, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

am giving reply to both you and !dave in same comment. Both you both guys did nothing to Kirat people page about false identification. You Jim, remove all my writings and put back all old information which does not support sources on Kirat people page. You are ignoring my request as I have previously said. You both had put a blame on me for a source but failed to check on Kirat people. Risingsun121 (talk) 05:33, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

!Dave, most information on Kirat pages have no sources but you have done nothing to erase it. I did the same but I have no problem no write the sources. Risingsun121 (talk) 05:36, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jim1138, your edit on Kirat pages does not support sources ethier. You check your writings before you check others. Risingsun121 (talk) 05:39, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Now a wp:Wikilawyer? I did request that you wp:ping me. Both here and at the top of my talk page. If you are uninterested in my requests, why should I be interested in yours? Jim1138 (talk) 05:40, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Limbuwan Gorkha War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ilam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
