Re:thnx

[edit]

You're welcome :) As for an article on ESO, there already is a section on it located in the article for Age of Empires III (Age_of_Empires_III#Multiplayer), so an article for just ESO might not be the best option since it might not conform the notability criteria on its own/as a seperate article. Still, feel free to improve the section if you wish by adding what you told me on my talk page. If you need any other help, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and happy editing, TomasBat 12:57, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I noticed this message that you posted at Talk:Guard tower; I would be happy to help you at improving the article.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Gyo do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: 'youtube\.com' (link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY-3NV5Egt4) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 03:40, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well done!

[edit]

Well done on those edits to guard tower and Age of Empires III! A tip: To add references correctly, put ref tags around them like this: <ref>external link goes here</ref> (this will automatically make them appear at the "References" section at the bottom of the page). Oh, and don't worry too much about the notice above (I too for instance made the same minor mistake); it was made by an automatic script because you added a link to YouTube, which are, in some cases, discouraged per copyright issues.

Oh, another thing: I would like to give you this:

The Exceptional Newcomer Award and The Age of Empires (AoE) Barnstar
I, TomasBat, award you, Retro2, with this double barnstar. The first half, for the great enthusiasm in improving Wikipedia despite having very recently created an account. The other half, for great effort and enthusiasm on working on Age of Empires-related articles. Well done!

Happy editing, TomasBat 00:17, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Well Done

[edit]

Thank you very much ^_^ I will continue to try to do my best.

Nice article! The only problem is... that it already exists at the Purshia article (cliffrose redirects there). Try merging the article that you created with the existant one ("merging" refers to passing the information of your article to the other article but avoiding ending up with duplicate info). Happy editing, TomasBat 20:57, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plants on Wikipedia are under scientific names, so I moved your text to the Purshia talk page and made this page a page that shows links to either Purshia or Armeria maritima, another plant known as cliff rose. --

Fair use rationale for Image:Amirumo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Amirumo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Collectonian (talk) 03:04, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Help on Images

[edit]

What you need to do is add a fair use rationale (an explanation of why the image should be on Wikipedia despite being copyrighted).

So, add the following fair use rationale code to the image page, filling in all the parameters with the correct information, and remove the speedy deletion tag once you have done so.

{{Non-free use rationale
| Article =
| Description =
| Source =
| Portion =
| Low_resolution =
| Purpose =
| Replaceability =
| other_information =
}}

For example, here is the fair use rationale code for Image:Superman 1.jpg to be included at article Superman (comic book). You can use it as an example of how you should fill your rationale.

{{Non-free media rationale
| Article = Superman (comic book)
| Description = Cover of ''Superman'' #1 (Summer, 1939). Art by Joe Shuster.
| Source = Scan made by the original uploader User:Blainehuffman.
| Portion = Full front cover as published.
| Resolution = 300px size unsuitable to use for high end reproduction.
| Purpose = For identification purposes in conjunction with discussion of the topic of the article.
| Replaceability = No free use image available. As this is a fictional, copyrighted character, a freely-licensed alternative could not reasonably be obtained.
| other_information = {{DC-Comics-trademark-copyright|1939}}
}}

If you need any help, just ask; but have in mind that I don't log in on Sundays, so if you need help during that time, add {{helpme}} to your talk page and another user will contact you to help you. Best of luck, TomasBat 04:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DSC00826.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC00826.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Casa Grande, Arizona. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 23:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Image:Cliffrose.jpg)

[edit]

You've uploaded Image:Image:Cliffrose.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Replaceable fair use File:Alaa al-Tamimi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Alaa al-Tamimi.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 00:24, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
