Talk:Asif Ali Zardari

[edit]

You seem to have re-sorted the threads on Talk:Asif Ali Zardari. I'm a little surprised by that. Overly large talk pages usually get archived, and that may indeed be necessary for Zardari's. But I don't think it's helpful to change the order of entries - for example, the guy whose edit request I answered a few days ago might have trouble to find it. Would you mind if I reverted those changes and instead archived most of the talk page? Huon (talk) 20:52, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize. Please revert all edits by me on the talk page that you think may have been detrimental. That is the best idea. Reformation32 (talk) 23:22, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No apology necessary. You were right in noting that the talk page had become overly long. I've archived all pre-2011 stuff. Maybe I should have taken a few of the 2011 sections as well, but the end of 2010 seemed a natural break (it's right before Mni9791 began to rewrite the article). I've also turned the list of images into a gallery; I believe that saves a little whitespace. If you prefer to have them separately (for easier copying into the article?), just revert me. Defending Sami Al-Arian edits

[edit]

An anonymous IP also reverted all your changes. Perhaps you noticed I had some article talk page comments on your changes, which I think were in the right direction? Because I know at least one other editor, and probably Anon IPs, will keep reverting your material, I am reluctant to analyze, defend, correct or update your edits if you do not defend your edits on the talk page. FYI. CarolMooreDC 19:25, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Vandalism of your page

[edit]

An anon IP recently posted a deletion flag on a page you created entitled Student activism in the BDS movement. It's pretty obvious vandalism and I'll go ahead and delete the flag. The same IP also vandalized a page about Iyad Burnat, brother of the director of 5 Broken Cameras. After he was blocked from the first IP, he used another one to undo my undoing of his edits. If you have administrative privileges, can you block this second one as well. I unfortunately don't have privileges. Thanks. --Xerces1492 (talk) 03:18, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There's a good chance this is Wikipedia:Long-term_abuse/JarlaxleArtemis who has been busy harassing various editors in the I-P area. Read that link about his activities (which I'm going to reorganize tomorrow to reflect current activities better) and then when you revert vandalism put that link in the edit summary. Helps editors get there and block him quicker. CarolMooreDC🗽 00:29, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

violation of 1RR and other recent edits in march/april 2013

[edit]

hi reformation,

as i wrote to you on the talk pages of those pages you have been editing, you have been violating some basic rules/principles of wikipedia. in particular, i asked you to self-revert three WP:1RR violations and you ignored my request. so, i will ask again. otherwise, i will report you and you can be blocked.

in any case, here is a full review of your edits and the issues with them:

a) the first of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Student_activism_in_the_BDS_movement&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:23 and then again at 14:14 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.

b) the second of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Students_for_Justice_in_Palestine&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:06 and then again at 14:11 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.

c) the third of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Iyad_Burnat&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:08 and then again at 14:05 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.

d) your edits themselves, as i have explained in the edit summaries and on the talk pages, have included quoting/using material from non-RS. as i have asked you before, please familiarize yourself with WP:RS. for example, using electronic intifada is not RS, nor many of your other sources. in addition, you have written with POV, instead of WP:NPOV. also, you have included non-sourced material.

is something not clear about my previous warnings? and in sum, please take care of these issues, or, as i said, i will simply report you for your violations. Soosim (talk) 15:42, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Given all the vandalism lately on Israel-Palestine related articles, it would help if you would show the actual diffs so we know these are not reverts of vandalism so neutral parties can better judge. CarolMooreDC🗽 19:32, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
hi carol - thanks for being part of this discussion. did you read the above? what part of:
a) the first of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Student_activism_in_the_BDS_movement&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:23 and then again at 14:14 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.
b) the second of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Students_for_Justice_in_Palestine&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:06 and then again at 14:11 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.
c) the third of the three most serious issues: you violated WP:1RR at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Iyad_Burnat&action=history - you can see that you edited this page at 05:08 and then again at 14:05 on april 16, while there were intervening edits which reverted some or all of your edits.
was not clear? why diffs if the editor is having problems understanding wiki basics. nothing could be more clear. Soosim (talk) 06:04, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Because of time differences it is not always clear what diffs one refers to and in doing 1RR complaints you have to do proper diffs anyway. But looking at a) it does seem strange for you to delete all that material when you have the article up for deletion - he could claim he was reverting vandalism (just like you angrily deleted all the external links in John Dugard because I deleted one clearly against policy); b) it's clear there is edit warring in that article by both of you and remember both sides can be sanctioned; c) 5:08 (1:08 on my listing) was reverting actual vandalism so the next one doesn't count. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Laila Al-Arian requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Lixxx235 (talk) 15:39, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the article cleanup, but remember not to delete speedy templates from pages you create yourself. Please discuss on article talk before removing the template, and kindly send me a talkback notice on my talk page. Cheers! Lixxx235 (talk) 16:02, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
