Proposed deletion of Adrien Pommier

[edit]

The article Adrien Pommier has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It's just some soldier.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Whomever you are as per your insulting comment I am not interested to know more about you. I contest the deletion of this article because I live in a free world and I can choose to speak German or not. If it was not for people like Adrien Pommier I would not have this choice. The action of Adrien Pommier and all the freedom thinkers and fighters of all time have shaped the civilization in which we live and you should know better as this allow you to express your stupid opinion on subject you are not qualified for. I sincerely don’t think it would have happened in a Nazi world. Bernard Pommier Quicksocial (talk) 14:23, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alex

First of all, thank you for your message. I reverted your edits since most of it seemed to be a cut and paste for our new article template and I felt it was not ready for prime-time. I suggest you work on a draft in your [[User:Quicksocial|Adrien Pommier|personal space] (I guess this is the same person) so you can get acquainted with the wiki syntax and only edit the article once you feel it's ready! Cheers, -- Luk talk 00:46, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Quicksocial, Alex Pommier! I see that you are having a lot of difficulty with getting your first article started. I'm sorry about that. There are two main problems here:
  • first, to have the article here, you need to show that your grandfather is what we call notable; as Dthomsen8 said higher up, you need to convince us that he is important and that he has been written about in several independent sources
  • second, there's a copyright problem, because the page you created seems very similar to http://www.adrienpommier.com/. I'm assuming you created that page? If so, which did you create first? If it was the internet page, there are several ways to fix this:
    • you could take the internet page down
    • you could remove the "Copyright 2015 by Pommier Family" notice from the foot of the page and replace it with "Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License" or some similar text (note: that would mean that anyone can use your text, at any time, for any purpose)
    • you could send us permission to use the text, following the instruction at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials; or
    • you could rewrite the Wikipedia page
On the other hand, if you created adrienpommier.com from what you had already written in Wikipedia, it would be enough to say so on that page; something like "this text was copied from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrien_Pommier" would be enough. If you do that, you should remove the "Copyright 2015 by Pommier Family" tag because, well ... it isn't. Luk's suggestion of working on your article in Draft space is a good one; we can help you to do that if you would like. If you have questions and ask them here I will see that you have done so. Good luck with it! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:31, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good Evening Justlettersandnumbers The website http://www.adrienpommier.com has been renovated and you will see on that page all references that are used in this article. The writing is our own and not copied from anywhere.| Thanks Quicksocial (talk) 02:02, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Remove " This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page." on my article

[edit]

Hello all,

I have this message noting that there are no inline citations on the article for Adrien Pommier. I'd like to have this message removed as I have made the inline citations per Wikipedia's guidelines. How can I have this issue resolved?

Thanks, Alex Pommier Quicksocial (talk) 20:25, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Linking to French Wikipedia Articles

[edit]

Good Afternoon Wiki,

I have many references listed in the article that should link back to another section on Wikipedia of which I found much information written about, however it is on the fr.wikipedia.com when using the syntax for Links as wiki explains it creates an empty or low-resource path/link back to the english version of the article where there is less information.

How can I link to French Wikipedia articles in my document?

Thanks, Quicksocial (talk) 21:31, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
