Request

[edit]

While your series of articles on "Country X-Country Y" relations fill a useful niche in the project, would you mind not creating them until you have some content? At the moment many of them simply read "Country X-Country Y relations are relations between country X and country Y"; not very useful or informative. A tag has been placed on File:Hungary China Locator.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:File:Hungary China Locator.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Italy–Switzerland relations

[edit]

In Italy–Switzerland relations you wrote:

Both countries are full members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, of the European Union and of NATO.

This is clearly wrong, Switzerland is not a member of the EU, and certainly not of NATO. I removed the phrase, be more careful in the future about this kind of mistakes.--Piccolo Modificatore Laborioso (talk) 12:59, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop creating random country-international relations articles.

[edit]

You have been warned about this before. Several users have noted that these articles, which stand no chance of being expanded to anything more than bare stubs, are probably not helpful to have at Wikipedia. To continue to create them over the objections of these many editors seems disruptive. Please see WP:ANI for a new discussion relating to your behavior. Be aware that this is the second such discussion. If you persist in creating these articles without the support or consensus of other editors, you may be blocked for being disruptive. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:30, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stemming from the discussion at ANI, I have proposed a number of the articles you created for deletion. See the few messages above for the relevant information, as its the same for each one. Grsz11 22:44, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked for 72 hours, for continuing the same type of editing that led to blocks under your other account Groubani. I have also blocked Groubani indefinitely as it is being used in violation of our sockpuppetry policy. If you wish to edit from Groubani, I will unblock that account and block this account indefinitely instead. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 22:55, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that he was creating some articles, some of which looked good, so I had created a few international relations stubs myself. I did not know that has been warned before and I will no longer create stubs if the said entries are systematically refused/deleted from Wikipedia. I am a conservationist however and I would probably not mind keeping them. ADM (talk) 23:08, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In general these articles aren't systematically deleted. It has been established in deletion discussions that many (maybe not all) are notable. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Argentina–Singapore relations.
That said, Plumoyr, you must do a better job of citing your sources for your articles, so the silly discussions about them needing deletion will go away. WilyD 00:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As already aluded to, and to respond to ADM's concerns, the issue is not in the creation of a international relations articles, where there are references to support a substantive article. If country A and country B have signed several bilateral treaties, been party to bilateral trade talks, have reports of working together on international issues, held summits together, then by all means, create the article. However, creating articles on every possible combination of two countries, without regard for actually researching or adding any substantive information to those articles, merely to have the complete set of every possible permutation of two countries, well that is not helpful. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Simply creating articles, because one can, without regard for actually having substantive, referenced information to fill that article with is the definition of indiscriminate. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 01:12, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Few if any of the articles created have been shown to be non-notable. Many have been shown to be notable. And I see no allegations that any of the information is unverfiable. There simply isn't a problem here, and I'm puzzled at the number of editors who seem interested in persecuting Plumoyr. WilyD 01:57, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Again, its not about the individual articles themselves. Finding one or two or five that may or may not have reliable references is moot. Its the action of creating a plethora of articles indiscriminately, that is without regard for whether or not substantive information exists in the real world to add to the article. The proper method of creating articles is 1) find references 2) create article with those references. This method seems to be 1) pick 2 random countries 2) create an article about their relations 3) rinse and repeat. So far no evidence has been presented that there is any intent on expanding these articles, or indeed whether or not it may actually be possible to ever expand these articles, and the entire enterprise seems to be about saying I can do this because I feel like it and you cannot stop me. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 02:14, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you

[edit]

The article you created: Morocco–Ukraine relations may be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster you respond on this page, the better chance the article you created can be saved.

Finding sources which mention the topic of your article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted {{Findsources3}}:

Find sources for Morocco–Ukraine relations: google news recent, google news old, google books, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

Also, there are several tools and helpful editors on Wikipedia who can help you:

1. List the page on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
2. At any time, you can ask any administrator to move your article to a special page. (Called userfication)
3. You can request a mentor to help you: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
4. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. These acronyms don't need to intimidate you. Here is a list of acronyms you can use yourself: Deletion debate acronyms, which will help you argue that the article should be kept.

If your page is deleted, you also have many options available. Good luck! Ikip (talk) 17:37, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Italy–Netherlands relations

[edit]

Hello, Plumoyr,

Thank you for creating Italy–Netherlands relations.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hi, this article needs some references and would benefit from an expansion - I also wonder why it mentions the Italian consulate in Maracaibo, a city in Venezuela (is it because of the proximity to the Dutch Caribbean? Whatever the reason, it should be explained)

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kingsif}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hello, Plumoyr

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Dclemens1971, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Italy–Montenegro relations, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dclemens1971}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
