Welcome!

Hello, PhoneBookHistorianGeek, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, many pf them have had to be reverted as the links you added do not meet the requirements of Wikipedia's external links guideline. (Basically, the idea is that Wikipedia is not a directory site; we generally only add links that directly benefit the subject of an article.)

This aside, I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Albuquerque, New Mexico do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dori (TalkContribs) 22:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Albuquerque, New Mexico. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Dori (TalkContribs) 23:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC) Alright, thanks for letting me know. I will keep it mind and will discuss before making any changes. But it was not only about Albuquerque, NM. All of my changes got reverted. Anywayz, I will respect the guidelines and take it from there.--PhoneBookHistorianGeek (talk) 15:50, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please bear in mind Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia not some form of web directory. Maybe look at this and read around things. What it requires is content not links. If you continue to attempt to place links whether directly or via talk page discussion you are likely to find yourself blocked from editing.
Take a look at the links in the welcome above and other relevant pages and take a stab at some real contributions. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 08:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
