I was notified that you was the one who deleted the page about the software sytem Breeze. Could you please clarify why you did this so we can fix whatever was wrong and put it back up? I don't see how the content I added differs from other competing or similar software like for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windographer? /Fredrik — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredrik84larsson (talkcontribs) 08:04, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

wiki page deleted Porse

Hi there, you have nominated Porse for speedy deletion and I have added this to articles for creation to get help from other users but it has been deleted again. This is a nationwide organisation in New Zealand and is referenced by many 3rd party sources. How can I get the article into articles for creation to continue editing it once it has been deleted?

  • Notability is not the problem. The article was deleted as advertising because it contained promotional language like "The unique difference between PORSE and other Early Childhood Services starts is their unique Vision and Mission". NawlinWiki (talk) 01:56, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ah thank you, how can I edit it to comply when the page is deleted and isn't showing in the deleted logs?

Hi Nawlin,

Thanks for the updates but I was wondering if I could please get the original display title back as the display title that you have moved it to is irrelevant and insignificant to the body of the wikipedia page. Thanks.

  • Hi Nawlin. I would like to include these links as reference for the wiki page(Echospawn_Studios). I hope I am posting this correctly as I am very new to this wiki creation, and it has been quite hard to understand all the processes. I just want to set up the wiki pages properly.

Link 1: http://unityassetreview.com/publishers/29429 Link 2: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/#publisher/5886 Link 3: http://www.echospawnstudios.com/ Link 4: https://www.facebook.com/EchoSpawnStudios Link 5: https://twitter.com/EchospawnStudio Link 6: http://www.linkedin.com/company/echospawn-studios

I am not sure what kind of references you are looking for but I hope this is enough. Please respond quickly so I can re create the wiki page.--NickLustig (talk) 07:07, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem with all of these sources is that they were written or posted by the company itself. In other words, they're not independent. We require independent, third-party sources. Please read, carefully, WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:12, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok now I understand, I thought it meant credible sources of the actual information. I will find links of public reviews from third parties, because there have been several. --NickLustig (talk) 11:28, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nawlin, I am inquiring about the page recently created for Jennifer A. Borg. Can you kindly advise what changes need to be made so that this will be an acceptable entry? Thank you so much. :) MRWilt218 (talk) 15:38, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nawlin, Just following up on this. I see the reason for deletion as: "..did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia." Can you please advise how to indicate this? Is there something separate to complete? Thank you for your help. MRWilt218 (talk) 17:37, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It does not appear from the article that Ms. Borg herself meets our notability standards, see WP:BIO. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:50, 14 March 2014 (UTC

Price & Myers

Hello, I have updated the link on the Astley Castle Stirling Prize to one that lists all parties involved in the restoration and not just the architects. This, and many other awards won by the firm, is why the page is notable. Also note that Price & Myers is mentioned (and linked without a page) on multiple articles throughout Wikipedia. Pm12345678910 (talk) 13:59, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, (1) I can't read the article because it requires registration; (2) the article on the Stirling Prize specifically says "The RIBA Stirling Prize is awarded to "the architects of the building which has made the greatest contribution to British architecture in the past year." " (architects, not "architects and consulting engineers"); (3) even if the article you cited mentions Price & Myers as the consulting engineer on the castle, that's not really enough. You need to cite us to articles that describe Price & Myers itself. See WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:59, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not certain precisely what passages you find in need of improvement, but if you can point them out; I'm happy to provide the relevant links - especially around this sentence "Some of the methods, language and analytical approach is borrowed from a precursor projects "Doing business" sponsored by the World Bank and WIPO "Start Up Academies" - which are cited with links. The original <no follow> links appear to have been deleted because those are intended for the references section (correct)? horizontal integration 23:46, 5 March 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cfelker (talkcontribs)

Reinstatement of Houghton International

Dear NawlinWiki,

I added the response below on 24th February but have not received a reply. I have made all the amends requested and as far as i am aware the current draft on my user page meets the criteria as stated below. I would be grateful if this could be resolved as a matter of urgency as its been over a month since my original contact.

Reinstatement of Houghton International

Dear NawlinWiki, Thank you for your feedback. I am somewhat confused as to why we do not meet the WP:CORP criteria as we now have 3 quality independent sources linking directly to the organisation; The Journal( national media),AEMT the international trade association and IPO, the UK patent authority. Is there a minimum number of references required as i have seen other organisations on Wikipedia with less than 3? Regards Cedric McMillan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cedric McMillan (talk • contribs) 09:59, 24 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.159.52.105 (talk)

  • OK, so you have a writeup in a trade journal and one article in a local newspaper. That's arguably enough to prevent the article from being speedily deleted, but I still don't think it's sufficient under the criteria in WP:CORP. If you were to repost the article, I would not speedily delete it, but I would list it for a deletion discussion at WP:AFD to see what other editors think. Hello, I believe you may have protected this article from being created due to repeated attempts that met WP:G11. That was over three years ago. I came across another attempt at WP:AfC, and it looked like a fitting stub. I found some good sources and moved the submission to Napier (company). Hello, I'm extremely confused on why the page, Tyler James Jacobs was deleted. it was marked as no list of why it was necessary, but a film maker holding large quantities of awards for short films and being rated Q and J's TV personality of the Year, is obvious reasoning for significance. Thank You. If you could help, Please Restore.

  • No, this is a high school/college amateur filmmaker posting multiple articles about himself and his films. See WP:V, WP:COI, WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:59, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Incorrect, My name is Jacob Hamm, i am a photographer in Oklahoma, i wrote the information about Tyler James Jacobs, who is yes, a student at Oklahoma Christian University, but Tyler is also holder of large short film awards and has been nominated for Q and J awards, which from the links you gave and the information above, show validity, weather you feel a person is an amateur or not, does not discount them being information people should be allowed to view. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, If a five year old were to write a book, and it got published, would you not put the book in an encyclopedia, because the child is an "amateur"? It remains the same, fact is fact and when a page has information one might look up with the proper references and information without exploiting itself as trying to "grab attention", then it is what it Wikipedia was first meant to be, a way for people to learn more about the world.
  • I'm sorry if i'm sounding rude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ovalindustries (talkcontribs) 01:38, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you block User:Urrgh! it's an account? Reinstatement of Beer Auction Game

Permit me to disagree on the Speedy Deletion of the Beer Auction Game. You refer to A7, which explicitly excludes educational institutions when using A7. I therefore would like to state that you used A7 incorrectly for Speedy Deletion of a University content output. Also I disagree to Speedy Deletion which would not have been the proper way anyway in this context.

Therefore please reinstateBmwtroll (talk) 14:17, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    • without being to harsh, I understand what you say, but a quick excuse that you did not pay attention to the educational institution issue in A7 would have been a nice sign as well. Now you bring A11 and later in your sentence you talk about proven sources about notability. A11 has nothing to do with notability but only significance or importance (clearly either of them). Notability is explicitly put at a higher level. Why are you bringing in levels personally which are not in the guidelines? When you look at Wikipedia:Credible claim of significance and read 1-6 it contradicts what you are writing. Therefore please reinstate Bmwtroll (talk) 14:46, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
        • A7 does not apply and A11 does not require sources. Nevertheless two separate sources have been included from the very beginning at the bottom. Permit me to say, I still believe this is acting outside the boundaries of Wiki rules. Please reinstate and still you can propose it for deletion in the proper way where I believe your arguments do not hold up Bmwtroll (talk) 15:03, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first source is a blog (yours?) that describes the game. The second is the university's own site. Neither satisfies WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:05, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • The first Website is a cooperate website of a 500 Mio. Euro company with an editorial desk where such topics are regularly published. And yes, certainly I have access to this company. But it passes the editorial desk. Nevertheless this does not justify that you apply A7 and A11 incorrectly in my eyes. So please give a final yes or no to my original request - Please reinstate and still you can propose it for deletion in the proper way where I believe your arguments do not hold up - so I can place my complaint through the alternative channels Bmwtroll (talk) 15:15, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Filter 31

Any way that this one can avoid the problem of disallowing changes that include Chinese characters (which I presume is the problem here?). Cheers, Black Kite (talk) 11:44, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My recent changes to Daniil Kharms were identified as potentially unconstructive. Since I cannot see Filter 31 myself, I used trial and error to check my changes in (see Special:AbuseLog for 72.244.204.73). It took a while to figure out that adding a section called "Death in prison" was the problem, even though Daniil Kharms did die in prison. Calling Filter 31 an "ASC art" filter was not helpful. Clearly some higher purpose is being served by filter 31, but even after I figured out what I did to cause the filter to block my edit, I'm not sure what I should be doing to avoid that filter in the future. Is the phrase "Death in prison" really the issue? Please reply at User talk:72.244.204.73#Death in prison. Thanks. 72.244.204.73 (talk) 22:29, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some protected redirects need categorization

It looks like you've protected quite a few redirects with log summaries similar to "no reason to move or edit redirect without discussion." The problem is that, while this may make sense for the target of the redirect, the lack of redirect categorization templates on many of these redirects does technically give a reason to edit them. For example, Windows 3.1 (redirect=no) should be {{r from subtopic}}, and Hanging, drawing and quartering (redirect=no) should be {{r from modification}}.

The reason I didn't just use {{edit protected}} is that I wanted to discuss the possibility of unprotecting such redirects; I'm sure there are many more in question. Unfortunately, there isn't yet a database report for protected uncategorized redirects.

I don't know whether it's still the consensus to protect mainspace redirects indefinitely for a single incident of vandalism or edit warring, even if no banned user or long-term abuser is suspected. --SoledadKabocha (talk) 01:13, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • These are based on spates of pagemove vandalism by a longterm banned abuser from about 4-5 years ago. I am fine with unprotecting them at this point - let me know which ones you are talking about. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:50, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just the two I mentioned above would be fine for now, until I have time to examine further. --SoledadKabocha (talk) 00:49, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Both changed to semis. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:20, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I have asked about the possibility of a database report: WT:Database reports#Fully-protected uncategorized redirects. --SoledadKabocha (talk) 00:18, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Scawfell redirect will need to change soon

I thought I should contact you as the creator of the redirect page for Scawfell. I have been working on a draft article for the record-breaking Tea Clipper of this name. Once this goes live, I will need to change the redirect. Clearly it would be appropriate to have a disambiguation note at the top of the article about the ship that can take you to Sca Fell (the mountain). It is also an opportunity to allow navigation to Scawfell Island, part of South Cumberland Islands National Park. Any thoughts on this? At present the draft article is set up to send the user to a disambiguation page - but it's probably better to put this all at the top of the new article. (Incidentally, the draft article has quite a lot of work left to do.)ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 11:43, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting your assistance

Hi, Nawlin. I could use the help of a conscientious admin right now, one who is willing to impose long blocks on IP serial policy violators. Recently, I did a considerable amount of editing on the article of 9/11 victim and New York Fire Department Chief Peter J. Ganci, Jr. That article had erroneously claimed that Ganci's remains were never found, and this caused distress to his loved ones, with whom I corresponded. I removed that material, and replaced it with well-sourced material establishing that his remains were indeed found. I had no idea who originally placed that mendacious claim in the article, or what their motive was, but yesterday, an editor using the IP account 205.125.162.102 blanked the content about his remains being found, along with the sources for that, and replaced it with the claim that his remains were never found. I don't know if this is the same editor who previously added that material to the article, but a look at that IP's talk page shows a litany of warnings going back to September 2012, including some recent ones from this month. Could you impose a lengthy block on that account? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 15:40, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's a school, so a long block isn't that much use (because the kids are changing all the time). But I have blocked for 72 hours and will watch that account's contributions. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:26, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting reconsideration of the speedy deletion of Saleem Technologies

Hi Nawlin, My page was speedily deleted due to lack of notability. I was very anxious to only use references that were independent sources (there were several local articles, an interview with Sky News & an international Washington Times piece) and I did have a look at what is defined as independent & verifiable, along with what is classified as notable for a company, before submitting and since the deletion and I still think the article has some value. I did look closely at other similar company articles & references before I attempted it, to ensure I wasn't kidding myself about its significance.

Of course, I understand your authority and experience regarding this criteria, so can I ask for assistance about what it was lacking specifically and if there is a chance it (my article) will ever make it to the big time?

Many thanks in advance, KateFerguson2014 (talk) 19:42, 26 March 2014 (UTC)User:KateFerguson2014[reply]

Hi and thank you for responding, I think it met a great many & am hoping you might agree. The criteria on WP:CORP says ‘notable’ must have (summarising); -independent third party reliable sources. -attracted attention from non-related, reliable sources. -independent sources discussing it. -significant effects on …economies / …science. -evidence of attention by international, national or even regional media or similar authorities -people independent of the subject itself who have considered the company or service notable enough to publish non-trivial, non-routine works that focus upon it (like myself?? Although I know that is maybe classed as personal research?.

I honestly believe the article quotes exactly the above type of sources; The Washington Times (a significant news publication) on the other side of the world considers this company ‘one of 10 commanding companies to watch’. The times are independent, third party, international and discussing the effects of this companies software, economically & technologically speaking, as are many of the other sources. The West Australian is also a large mainstream news publication in the WA capital, who ran a half page interview, article & onsite photoshoot (I assume, as the Newspapers own Photographer was credited with the picture). The CEO was also interviewed regarding his company & software on a live Sky News report (another well known news media) & there are more than 3 Independent industry bulletin/reporting websites that have run stories on the company & its software, both specifically & as part of focused comparisons within the technology industry. The Company was also recognised with an awarded Government grant, which was then reported on by a Entrepreneurial news source. I think that amongst its peers, several associated/interested industries (and as a consequence; the media) there seems to be significant interest in the Company, and not only recently, although there seems to be some momentum. Sorry about the above quantity of waffle (it takes me a lot of time to condence!)

Regards, K. KateFerguson2014 (talk) 11:14, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,hey...I was hoping you may have had a chance to look at my response to your question about what notability criteria my article met? I would love to somehow be able to have it reinstated. KateFerguson2014 (talk) 01:40, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As long as we block talk pages of his socks, we can stop tagging. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 18:48, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Block talk page - I'll remember that, thanks. Related: have you tried the useful features of the new beta CirrusSearch yet?  —SMALLJIM  19:14, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, but I just looked at the documentation and it could be very helpful! I'm not too technical - how do I install it? NawlinWiki (talk) 19:19, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's 'New search' under 'Beta' next to 'Preferences', top of page. I've certainly found it handy at times.  —SMALLJIM  19:31, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You might as well speedy this filmmaker's user page too..

The deletion of the page "Spontaneous drop"

Hey how could i at least recover the deleted content ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by K1p0d0 (talkcontribs) 18:21, 28 March 2014‎

Check User:K1p0d0/Spontaneous Drop. I tagged it as a user draft. Check with experienced editors before putting into article space. Best of luck. Schmidt, Michael Q. 18:39, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki page deletion: The Cult by Hands and Javier

I noticed that my wiki page "The Cult by Hands and Javier" was set for speedy deletion and I would love it if I could get the information deleted as I spent quite a bit of time and if you are a friendly human it'd be great if you could tell me what I could fix to prevent this from happening in the future FireCrotchGinja (talk) 02:34, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • could I get the information on it back at the least?

Wiki Page Deleted - Southside Wrestling Entertainment

Hi NawlinWiki. Earlier today I created a page for UK based wrestling promotion Southside Wrestling Entertainment, but it wasn't completely finished as I was yet to add sources. I impatiently created the page to show a friend to see what they thought. I had intended to finish while the page was live but I can understand why the page was immediately deleted. I have since done a more comprehensive version including references (using the website cagematch.de which lists wrestling shows whether they are mainstream America or Japanese promotions to the more established and legitimate independent promotions across the world) and wish to create the page in hopes it meets your requirements? I'm new to wiki so still learning. Cobystag (talk) 20:27, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recyling Lives

As this is my first article could you explain why this has been nominated for speedy deletion. I don't believe it is promotional language and have been careful to reference

Recycling Lives

Hi I've just had my first article about recycling lives deleted

Could you give me some feedback as I believe it is neutral and not promotional. I have dozens of references and have done my research on the company to try and give a neutral position. There are a lot of references I have found from awards etc existing on wikipedia which currently point to the page which is none existant.

Carl Poxon (talk) 09:50, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A thought might be to userfy Carl's article for him. He is receiving some advice at the Teahouse on this at present. Does Carl have to ask for this himself, or might my suggestion be sufficient? Fiddle Faddle 10:37, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

By The Rivers Wiki Page

Hello, I've just created a wiki page for By The Rivers which was speedily deleted.

The page was not in fact finished, and was began to be contributed to. I realise now I should have sandboxed this or put it in my personal area until more substantiated.

Can I please have access back to the page so I can do just this?

Speedy Deletion for Jess Penner

I was notified that you are the one that deleted my "Jess Penner" page. I am in the process of editing and adding the importance contents and am doing it in sections. I merely saved the page for a split second before entering my other relevant information. Please make this page available again. Thank you.

Deleted wikipage

Hi NawlinWiki, you have deleted my page (StoneCastle Placement Advisors)under' G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion'. I have tried to edit it thus to possess a neutral tone. Would you be able to provide me with more specific criteria so we may get the page working again soon? I appreciate your time. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scosuna09 (talkcontribs) 20:57, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's not enough that you rewrote it so that it wasn't in first person. It still reads like "these are the great things we do for our customers, and here are the resumes of our management team." You need to write the article based not on the company's own materials, but on reliable independent sources, and even then, only if those independent sources show that the company meets our standards for notability, see WP:CORP.
