Information icon Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Vikramarkudu, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Ab207 (talk) 15:36, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Ramarjuna, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. The Times of India states it's an "action drama". Please use and wp:cite a wp:reliable source. Do not use your own analysis with is wp:original research and is not acceptable on Wikipedia

@Ab207 Sorry, actually it is actually a masala genre film rather than action drama, I am sorry, I will not repeat this again Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 05:54, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright but make sure you provide a source for your change when the material is likely to be challenged. -- Ab207 (talk) 06:45, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Avane Srimannarayana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kidnapped. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin into Hudugaata. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 15:13, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Bruce Lee: The Fighter, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
Please do not link common English words like smart, unofficial, engagement, plastic, canal, reveal, success, retirement etc. Those who read an encyclopedia are expected to know the meaning of these words. See MOS:COMMONWORDS Diff: [1]

@Spencer Ok, I just want to write the plot in a good style, I will not repeat this one Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 07:21, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Nalina.E.Nalina. Appreciate you are trying to copyedit the plot but please do not link commonly used words. Re this edit, readers who reading the plot in English are expected to know the meaning of words like video game, Lawyer, engagement, background, canal, retires, admitted, success etc. This is basic stuff really. So on film plots, please link only places, characters (if any) and some obscure technical words. Hope this helps. Thanks and regards -- Ab207 (talk) 07:15, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please do not add your own summary of critical reception like ([2], [3]), this is considered WP:SYNTH and violate the policy of WP:No Original Research. If you want to add, say, "praised action scenes and criticized background score," you must add sources which say that the critics said so and so. Regards -- Ab207 (talk) 14:16, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ab207 Ok I will not add none of these again, I'm sorry Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 04:27, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nalina.E.Nalina, I saw your edit. Your edit is unsourced and can be removed by anyone saying it is "unsourced". You can take this source from Times of India? The latest TOI article gives 250.05 crore (equivalent to 265 crore or US$32 million in 2023) for Beast. And also don't forget to add gross in its infobox. Disruptive plot editing

[edit]

Hello Nalina.E.Nalina, I believe this is the second time I've had to leave a comment on your talk page about disruptively changing plot sections in Indian films. This time, it is about Kiss (2019 film). The plot was fine before you came along and decided to expand it with unnecessary detail. Please stop doing this. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Copyright problem icon Your edit to Yennamo Yedho has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. This is your final warning. You AGAIN copied the plot from an external website. This is NOT acceptable and any further instances WILL result in you being reported with a request to block. You ignored the warnings from yesterday and continued with the problematic behavior you've been warned about several weeks ago. You CANNOT continue to edit like this on Wikipedia. You've been reverted before for making unsourced edits, and even responded to a warnings here saying "Ok". It's not "Ok" to keep doing this. It's getting disruptive. Stop. [edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Nalina.E.Nalina! Your additions to Josh (2009 Kannada film) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. When you added the plot, you copied it from here. It's nearly word for word except for the last couple of sentences. I've removed your edit and have had to request it be rev delete due to the copyright issues. You CANNOT do this. You MUST completely rewrite and summarize, in your own words, not copy-paste someone else's work (and then you didn't even link to the source, taking credit for someone else's work). This is a really good way to get blocked from editing, please don't do something like this again. Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 20:30, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kismath (2018 film)

[edit]

Your edit at Kismath added the plot of the movie. Where did you copy that from? You rephrased a few things, but you VERY clearly started from someplace. What's the original source. The alternative is this goes to WP:ANI. Ravensfire (talk) 20:05, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ravensfire Kismath is the remake of Neram, but i edited in my way. Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 02:29, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And you just copied the plot from the other article without any attribution. YOU CANNOT DO THAT. It's nearly identical to the plot from the old article, you didn't rewrite it, you did a close paraphrase. Sigh, I'm not sure what to do at this point as you don't seem to understand the issues. Ravensfire (talk) 14:36, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please read through Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. There's some attributes that's required when you copy text from one article to another. Yes, that's needed here. It's a close paraphrase (and you missed changing the original character name in one place) so it's needed. If this was from an external site, it would need to be deleted as a copyright violation. Suggestion

[edit]

Hello, Nalina E. Nalina. I have read through your talk page and I have notice you've been through a lot of trouble recently. I believe you have the potential to become a great editor. I suggest you read WP:Citing for beginners and provide an edit summary for all your edits to make users understand what you did on the article. If you have any more questions, leave a note on my talk page (click the "chat?" button). Thanks. Dinosaur TrexXX33 (chat?) 12:38, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing

[edit]

I've reverted your plot addition to Rashtra Kavach Om. It's extremely obvious that you took the plot summary from here and made very minor changes to it. It even ends at the same point in the overall plot of the film. After all the warnings about copyright violations, you should know that you CANNOT DO THIS. In late May, I told you "You MUST completely rewrite and summarize, in your own words, not copy-paste someone else's work". This is serious, copyright is taken VERY seriously at Wikipedia. Absolutely no more of this. Anything further and I will take this to an admin board for review. Please please please don't make that happen. Ravensfire (talk) 23:54, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I assume Nalina is ignoring warnings. She has ranked up SEVENTEEN warnings since her last block in April. I believe it's time for a 2-3 month or so block. I believe she has potential, but now she's just disruptively ignoring warnings. Dinoz1 (chat?) 13:29, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dinoz1 What have I done Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 14:24, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nalina.E.Nalina, you have been continuously ignoring warnings which has made you on your way to yet another block, or possibly sanctions. You reply to most of your warnings along the lines of "ok ok i will not do it again" which is obviously false. What Ravensfire is saying is that you've kept adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia. You have been given lots of material to look at, to stop getting warned and eventually blocked, but you're still doing it. Take the time to review Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, WP:Citing for beginners and edit summary. As Ravenfire said, this will be coming to an administrator noticeboard quite soon if you keep doing this. Dinoz1 (chat?) 15:35, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dinoz1 Copyright meaning? What I am copying in Wikipedia and uploading it in my version right? Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 15:42, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nalina.E.Nalina Copyright is to reproduce, publish, perform etc. something that doesn't belong to you. You copy and pasted info from here and made small changes. You are not supposed to do that. Let me know if you have any more questions. Dinoz1 (chat?) 15:51, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dinoz1 Does copying from Wikipedia and writing it again is wrong in opinion? Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 16:20, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nalina.E.Nalina I don't really know much about copyright. I suggest you ask on the Teahouse. Dinoz1 (chat?) 16:22, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Nalina.E.Nalina, remember that contributions to Wikipedia are, in fact, copyrighted. Look at the small text usually under the edit summary box - all edits are licensed under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License which allows it to be copied, but requires attribution. If you only make VERY little changes to the original text, that clearly falls into close paraphrasing. Since is it CC-BY-SA text, it's allowed, but you MUST attribute the text to where it came from - you didn't write the original text, so you need to make sure that someone trying to identify who wrote that material knows where you copied it from. The WP:COPYWITHIN page has some good helpful advice on how to do this.
Now, when you copy from an external website, it's very rare to see a CC-BY-SA license. You CANNOT copy and paste material from there, even with minor changes. You cannot just attribute the copying, it's not allowed. You absolutely must rewrite, completely in your own words. That means don't start by copy-pasting, start with a blank editor and type everything out on your own.
Honestly, there are two major concerns I have with your editing. First, there are still copyright issues happening. Copyright is taken very, VERY seriously on Wikipedia, and ignoring it is a really good way to get blocked. Second, you aren't responding to many of these warning messages. They are there to help you understand that you've done something incorrect and some information about why. When you don't respond, I have to assume that you saw them and ignored them. With the issues you've had with copyright, I've had to review a lot of your past edits, looking for other places where you've copy-pasted. Honestly, it's not fun, it's time-consuming and you haven't done anything to help others clean up the mess you made with your copying. Think on that - you're causing other people to correct your mistakes, and not helping. Switch positions, how would you feel?
I think you're editing in good faith and don't intend to make these mistakes. It happens to nearly everyone early on (yes, I did it as well and got smartly rapped on the fingers), it's about how you learn and adapt. When the issues continue, it's concerning because I think you're generally a good editor. I hope you'll read and think on these thoughts. I truly hope these will help you understand the concerns and some things that may help you as an editor. Ravensfire (talk) 17:57, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ravensfire Does Copying from Wikipedia and pasting it with small change is an offence?. I didn't copied and pasted any words on the website. I edit because I only wanted to see my edits myself, not anyone else Nalina.E.Nalina (talk) 18:11, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits.
