I want to semi-protect my profile !

[edit]

--Musicianguides (talk) 10:09, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#How to become a semi protected on user's page? PrimeHunter (talk) 11:22, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There's no such thing as 'your profile' on Wikipedia. This is not a social media site, like Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. This is an encyclopedia, and you have your user page here, which purpose is primarily for communication and collaboration on expanding Wikipedia, not for advertising your business or any other activities unrelated to Wikipedia's goals. Please see Wikipedia:User pages. --CiaPan (talk) 18:59, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Protection to my UserPage Indeed!

--Musicianguides (talk) 08:56, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done requests for page protection must be made at WP:Requests for page protection, but as your user page has never been vandalized this may well be refused - Arjayay (talk) 09:14, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Arjayay why you rejected my request? --Musicianguides (talk) 09:19, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have not rejected your request - I have told you where to apply for semi-protection.
Your user page may be protected - although it has never been vandalized - you are the only person who has ever edited it.
However, this talk page will not be protected - as it is where people leave you messages - and this page hasn't ever been vandalized either. - Arjayay (talk) 09:27, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conversation copied from deleted Talk:Mustapha Kamel

[edit]

This is a Musician born and Raised in Morocco , based in NSW Sydney he has many Singles, Albums and am planning to create a wikipedia page with full reference . --Musicianguides (talk) 12:00, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article is currently protected from creation. So I suggest you write a draft article at Draft:Mustapha Kamel. If it meets out criteria then someone can move it for you. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:49, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You can use WP:Articles for creation to guide you through the process. Read WP:Your first article, WP:MUSICBIO and WP:Autobiography. JohnCD (talk) 15:09, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
JohnCD MSGJ The wikipedia draft page for that artist has been created https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mustapha_Kamel Take a look at it and make it visible to the public --Musician Guides (talk) 16:09, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The way to send the draft for review is to click on the blue "Submit" button. But it would not be accepted as it is, because you need much better references to establish WP:Notability.

Of your present references: 1 gives a 404 error, 2 comes up blank - no information, 3, 4, 7, 8 are about Ryan Belhassen (راين بالحسن) not you, 5 comes up blank, 6 is autobiography, so does nothing for notability.

The website link to mukarecords gives an error message: "The owner of www.mukarecords.net has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website." Clicking on the "Official website" link just produces the Reverbnation homepage, nothing about Kamel; and the Vevo link produces "OOPS! How embarrassing, we can't seem to find the page you were looking for."

So altogether the only information about Mustapha Kamel in all those references is a four-line autobio posted by him. Read WP:MUSICBIO and WP:Notability (summary) to understand what's needed: multiple references which are about Mustapha Kamel and his work, in some detail, written independently of him. If you can't provide those, you are wasting your time writing about him here. JohnCD (talk) 17:35, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JohnCD now i know what you meant about references , thanks a lot i've edited the page and added all the references https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mustapha_Kamel

Nomination of Almost There Records for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Almost There Records is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Almost There Records until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Orange Mike | Talk 16:02, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Almost There Records. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 17:06, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, you may be blocked from editing. JohnCD (talk) 19:29, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JohnCD & C.Fred are the only adùins that keeps deleting pages on wikipedia , 4 wikipedia admin's has reviewed the page and i didn't remove it . tell me one reason that makes you different from them? --Musician Guides (talk) 19:32, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of us has deleted the page. What we did was restore the AfD notice, which the history shows you removed, twice, although it clearly says "this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed." If you keep removing it you will be blocked.
The discussion will last, normally, for a week, and you can say there why you think the article should be kept, but the only arguments that will carry any weight will be ones that show the sort of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources I keep telling you about. JohnCD (talk) 19:49, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You deleted the notification template twice today [1] [2] and you blanked the discussion [3]. Unless they see some reason why the nomination was in pure bad faith, any admin who looks at the article would make sure that the AfD template is at the top of the article, whether they think the article should be deleted or not. The template at this point just serves as a notice to readers that a discussion is ongoing about whether to delete the article; that discussion cannot be short-circuited by removing the notification template or blanking the discussion. Those actions are also interpreted as disruptive: that's why you've been warned for doing them. —C.Fred (talk) 19:56, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request for people to nominate you to be an admin

[edit]

I see that you have asked 3 editors to nominate you to be an admin. I would suggest you retract those requests. They will all probably tell you no and if you are nominated you will not become an admin. You have been here a week and have less than 100 edits. There is no way you are knowledgeable enough to become an admin here. You need about a year of editing before you could become an admin. -- GB fan 13:32, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

GB : none was born with knowledge sir , also yeah i only got registred on wikipedia in less than one week but sir am ready to become an admin, i was a wikipedian for almost 10years and i believe i deserve to be an admin. i know everything about editing/creating a wikipedia page. --Musician Guides (talk) 13:35, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, no one was born with knowledge. It only comes after experience. You might have much experience, but there is no way for anyone to see that at this point. As far as anyone can see you have one week and 100 edits to show for your experience. There is no way editors will trust you with the admin tools at this point. -- GB fan 13:38, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
GB : you can trust me sir what it could happen if i become admin, am much online here on wikipedia and i really wanna expand this project and do what i love the most, and sir am requesting you to nominate me , i promise i won't let you down. --Musician Guides (talk) 13:42, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I already told you I don't think you are ready to be an admin. Why would I after telling you that, nominate you? -- GB fan 13:54, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:GRFA. JohnCD (talk) 14:18, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If the block is a CheckUser or Oversight block, was made by the Arbitration Committee or to enforce an arbitration decision (arbitration enforcement), or is unsuitable for public discussion, you should appeal to the Arbitration Committee.
