Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to World War III may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Boeing B-47 Stratojet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Subsonic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

You tagged a few pages as better in prose (such as this one) but I don't have any idea why. Maybe you can tell me why you think they could be better (or even not-worse) in prose? tahc chat 18:54, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting for lack of content

Hello. I saw that you'd posted a "no-content" speedy deletion tag at Bahiridev Temple-Sarde. The article has an infobox, though, and the information in an infobox counts as content. See WP:CSD A3. —Largo Plazo (talk) 11:14, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

on my contribution

[edit]

Sir, I do not need threats against me for editing out what only is seen as a false claim from a tabloid. I'm fairly new here but I know I do not intend to have a user threaten me. I can give several reasons why it is false, it has only existed via internet. If you look into the real world, nothin much happened but however Wikipedia is a sight that is to be only truthful and accurate information. People should not be given such false claims onboth pages. CSD#G4

[edit]

You may wish to re-read Wikipedia:CSD#G4 in the context of Draft:Zeeshan Haider. Obviously the draft is not fit to become a Wikipedia article in its current state, but G4 is not an appropriate criterion for deletion in this case. - David Biddulph (talk) 09:41, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@David Biddulph: The page appears to be bad-faith recreation of a repeatedly deleted page created by the same user. How may this be addressed? MopSeeker FoxThree! 13:44, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is now an incomplete draft, rather than an article. If the draft eventually gets submitted for review, it will be dealt with accordingly; it it gets abandoned G13 applies. If you believe that it meets any of the speedy criteria, then tag it accordingly, but remember that some apply only to articles, not to drafts. Things like copyright violation apply to any namespace. If you are unfamiliar with the various deletion processes other than speedy, see Wikipedia:Deletion policy. - David Biddulph (talk) 13:52, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@David Biddulph: Understood. One tends to be excessively hasty when dealing with disruptive editing. However, G4 does include pages moved to the draft namespace to circumvent the deletion policy. MopSeeker FoxThree! 13:57, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the fact that it is a draft doesn't automatically exclude it from G4, but the fact that there had not been a deletion discussion does exclude it. David Biddulph (talk) 14:01, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@David Biddulph: I used Twinkle for the MfD listing. Does it not perform the process correctly? Is there anything that needs to be manually done? Is the article even eligible for MfD? Apologies for the ignorance.MopSeeker FoxThree! 14:08, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know much about Twinkle, but when I first saw the MFD the task had presumably not been completed, but it apparently has been now. Those replying to the MFD will decide whether it is appropriate, but in general drafts are allowed time to be developed and to provide evidence of notability, providing that they don't violate the more rigid requirements such as copyright. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:17, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Lestrade

[edit]

Hello MopSeeker. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Lestrade, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: User pages are only deleted under G7 if the author explicitly requests it; blanking does not qualify. Thank you. Jackmcbarn (talk) 03:56, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Speedy Deletion "El Baile en TVN"

[edit]

Hi! An article I started (El Baile en TVN) was deleted because you claim there was a copyright issue. You can check on this old revision from where the blog post was published: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dancing_with_the_Stars&oldid=451386226#Chile from Sept 19 2011 (one day before the blog claimed as source).

Clearly, the blog used data from Wikipedia, not the other way around.

It'd be nice to not be falsely accused of copyright infringemet :)

Information icon Hello MopSeeker. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Joseph cannata. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks..

@Hullaballoo Wolfowitz: Understood. As has already been shown in some previous incidents, I tend to be excessively hasty and deletionist when patrolling new pages. From now on, I will try to wait approximately 10 minutes after the creation of a page before applying the aforementioned criteria. Is this advisable? If not, how should such situations be managed?MopSeeker FoxThree! 02:52, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete nomination of messesarymist bulacan

Hello MopSeeker. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Messesarymist bulacan. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. AfterOtso06 (talk) 01:09, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@AfterOtso06: Sorry for this. After being warned previously, I have attempted to implement the suggested delay during patrols. In this case, I was not aware that the page had recently been created, as I had already begun waiting out the delay, during which I performed several other actions, after which I returned to the page and tagged, assuming that the requisite delay had already passed. How can situations like this be prevented during a patrol? I have no intention to bite newcomers, or to appear as though I am doing so. Thanks, MopSeeker FoxThree! 01:56, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As many times as a page on Bulacan had been attempted to be created, you were fully justified to put an A7 tag on the article so quickly after the attempt at recreation. —C.Fred (talk) 02:03, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@C.Fred: Thanks for the clarification. At that time, I was not aware of that situation, and was performing a routine speedy deletion nomination. MopSeeker FoxThree! 13:55, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Uttar Pradesh Sainik School, Lucknow

[edit]

I noticed you nominated the article on Uttar Pradesh Sainik School, Lucknow for speedy deletion. It's a moot point now, because there was already an article on that topic, so I turned the page into a redirect, but I wanted you to know that the rules for A7 speedy deletion (significance) specifically exempt schools and other educational institutions. It's a rule I hate, but there it is. I have found that the only way to deal with bad school pages is to PROD or AfD them. Even then it's difficult, as institutions of higher education are presumed notable, and many people extend that to high schools as well, but sometimes it works. In any case, thank you for trying to keep bad pages out of Wikipedia. ubiquity (talk) 14:44, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Restored deleted material to David Lisak article

[edit]

The research reported in this article is controversial, and an account of the controversy is needed to fairly represent the status of the scholarship. The fact that the criticism is focused on one source (Reason.com) was noted. Lisak's research was fairly represented, at much greater length than the controversy. The criticism is not "undue" since it is a valid academic controversy. Much of what was deleted was included in the original article, so deleting it makes no sense unless the idea is to protect the article's subject from criticism that is happening beyond Wikipedia. {{subst:requested move
| new1 = Battlefield (disambiguation)
| current2 = Battleground
| new2 = Battleground (disambiguation)
| reason = (text explaining why these pages should be moved to make way for [[Draft:Battlefield]] to move to mainspace).}}
