A tag has been placed on User:Miskonius/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Contested deletion

[edit]

I have not made any publications and have disclosed the affiliation with my company. The article would have never been posted until Wikipedia editors agreed that it fit Wikipedia standards, which was my reason asking Admins about their opinion in the first place. Matter of fact, the content in my sandbox could have been used a s a reference for other Wikipedia editor if he wished to write the article about Active@ Kill Disk from the ground up. The article is is full of references that can be easily checked.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Miskonius (talkcontribs)

Contested deletion

[edit]

My affiliation with the company has been disclosed and I wasnt going to release the article without the approval of the Wikipedia community. I do not think that my account should be deleted for writing in my sandbox and asking the community what they think of it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Miskonius (talkcontribs)

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is intended as a paid editing disclosure. --Robert McClenon (talk) 21:59, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It also contains the company address, which can be seen as advertising the company. Also, since it doesn't contain the word "paid", it isn't a paid editing disclosure, only an admission of some conflict of interest. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:06, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It does contain the company address only in regards of full disclosure, and not advertising the company. If i specify that I work for Lsoft it is perfectly clear that I am paid by LSoft. Also please read the text and refer to any references that are wrong.

If I am in the possible conflict on interest that doesnt make my text false by default. Miskonius (talk) 22:24, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) All of which could be corrected by simple editing, and did not require deletion.
Joseph2302 I feel that this tagging violated WP:BITE when dealing with a new editor who seems to ahve been trying rto do the right thing. Please be more careful.
I have asked the deleting admin to restore the page.
Miskonius, please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure and see {{connected contributor (paid)}}. Thank you. DES (talk) 22:25, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Strongly disagree, I work for LSoft could mean anything, you need to say "I am being paid by LSoft to write on Wikipedia". Joseph2302 (talk) 22:30, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Joseph2302 Well I disagree as well, "I work for Lsoft" means exactly what it says. "I am being paid by LSoft to write on Wikipedia" doesnt mean much because it might imply that I was hired for just this one article which would be a lie.

Also, if you really want to get overboard with semantics, I could also work for LSoft and write in my own free time about its products and not charging them a dime because I think that KillDisk deserves to be on Wikipedia. So with you reasoning I wasnt in conflict of interest since i wasnt paid for it. Disclosing that I work for LSoft makes my position as transparent as it can be. Do you see my point? Miskonius (talk) 22:50, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No, because that was exactly my point. It is a conflict of interest to work for them (even if you edit in your spare time), but if you're doing it in company time then it's also paid editing. Your userpage was not clear on paid editing status. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:53, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph2302 NO, your point was that I was advertising the company via address which is misconstrued and that I am in conflict of interest (which I have admitted at the start). Those were the reasons good enough for you to tag me for a speedy deletion. Disclosed conflict of interest is more than enough to give benefit of the doubt, whether i get paid for it or not is only relevant in terms of conflict of interest which is already perfectly clear. Not to mention that you wanted to delete the post without actually reading it. Miskonius (talk) 23:06, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just to confirm- are you creating this article as part of your work, or in your spare time? This should be clarified on your userpage. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:36, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

LaMona 1. I disagree. On many of the pages i have referenced it is stated that KillDisk is being recommended for use as a data security measure. So it's only being used it is also being recommended. However I do agree that I could drop a certain amount of links for better clarity. 2. I have only referenced the standards that are not present on Wikipedia. This only goes to explaining software capabilities. 3. The article is about the software and not about the company. Lsoft has in its portfolio at least 15 different types of software. Now, if Wikipedia editors agree I might create another page about LSoft Technologies, but at this point article is about KillDisk and not about LSoft technologies
