Thank you for welcoming me. This page was just a test. It's my mistake. I created the page in french and I want to create the english version. I try to find my bearings in English encyclopedia! First, I just want to create a draft. I think I have to do it in my personal sandbox. --MeloKeBeK (talk) 18:33, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, MeloKeBeK. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 09:04, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jeraphine Gryphon. Thank you to welcome me. This article was published in french and seems to respect policies and guidelines of Wikipedia according other contributors. The english version was written with same words. Maybe I can work again on the history. Do you have any other advice for me?--MeloKeBeK (talk) 13:38, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"SSQ Financial Group offers a wide and diversified range of products and services", "SSQ differs from most financial institutions because it is a company with mutualist values" -- if you don't see a problem with this then you're not neutral enough to decide whether the article conforms with policy or not. Also: "sectors of our parent company" -- replace the "our" with something more appropriate.
It really doesn't matter that the French article hasn't received criticism, maybe there just aren't enough editors there. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 13:57, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also: are you connected with this company? You don't have to tell us who you are, but if you're employed by this company then you need to disclose that (yes or no), according to Wikipedia's terms of use. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 14:02, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are absolutely right on these points. These terms are not neutral. I used some of the content of their website. I used neutral terms in French, but I forgot to change some details in English. It's my mistake.--MeloKeBeK (talk) 14:10, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an employee of SSQ Financial Group. Thank you for your comments--MeloKeBeK (talk) 14:12, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jeraphine Gryphon, I made some changes in this article. What else for removing this warning? Thank you very much.--MeloKeBeK (talk) 19:32, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're allowed to remove warnings and other messages from your own talk page. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 19:37, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your quick response.--MeloKeBeK (talk) 19:42, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was talking about this warning ("Managing a conflict of interest") here on your talk page. Not the template/tag on the article. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 19:48, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry! That's right, that seemed too easy! So, you can paste again the tag on the article! But, if you don't, I would be very happy! --MeloKeBeK (talk) 19:57, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Altitude3.Net, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page La Presse. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
