[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane, threatens, attacks or impersonates another person, or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

new to contributing and hard blocked without any type of warning or dialogue due to a username that I do not feel to be patently in violation of the username policy but I am certainly willing to change. This action seems to be contrary to the spirit of most policies surrounding blocking Melaniasmelons (talk) 16:05, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I disagree; your username is offensive and clearly intended to be offensive. The block is appropriate. Yamla (talk) 17:10, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

it appears multiple other users have been told to change their name by Orange Mike but I have not been afforded this adviceMelaniasmelons (talk) 16:10, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

this is a fairly arbitrary and subjective decision without any reference to specific language or explanation. my username was only reported due to a disagreement over editing of a page... also see:

"Prevent account creation will restrict the user from accessing the Special:CreateAccount function for the duration of the block. If applied to an IP address or range, it will also prevent all user accounts from being able to create additional accounts if they attempt to do so while behind the blocked IP address or range.[3] If the autoblock option is also enabled on a block applied to a user account, it will also prevent acounts from being created on the IP address that the blocked user was using. It should typically be disabled when blocking accounts with inappropriate names (to allow the user to create a new account with an appropriate name), though it should be enabled when blocking bad-faith names (for example, clear attacks on other users) or vandalism-only accounts." Decline reason:

I'm hard pressed to see how this username is in good faith. Suggest a new one, or begone. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 19:19, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

username suggested "jakefeatherstone"... I did not realize there was a space to suggest a new one; my apologies and thank you! Melaniasmelons (talk) 20:53, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but we already have enough trolls, and we don't need more. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:18, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For the reviewing administrator, you may want to read Jake Featherston when reviewing this unblock request. As this is clearly inappropriate too, I have revoked talk page access. We can do without any further time-wasting from this troll. --Yamla (talk) 20:55, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop hand
Your ability to edit this talk page has been revoked as an administrator has identified your talk page edits as inappropriate and/or disruptive.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If the block is a CheckUser or Oversight block, was made by the Arbitration Committee or to enforce an arbitration decision (arbitration enforcement), or is unsuitable for public discussion, you should appeal to the Arbitration Committee.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
