Obsesion

Hi Magiciandude! Thank you for your kind message on my talk page. I created the Obsesión article and so it is in my watchlist. Good editing! -- Europe22 (talk) 09:25, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

A Puro Dolor and Suavemente

Let's do it. Do you have new information for "A Puro Dolor" or "Suavemente", I will submit A Puro Dolor to PR just to have another opinion about it. Jaespinoza (talk) 18:38, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi

Let's do it. I would like to do the music video section but . Siquisloco (talk) 18:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Contra La Corriente (Marc Anthony album)

-- Cirt (talk) 18:02, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Collaboration.

I am in... which would you like me to do?. Jaespinoza (talk) 00:29, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

I did some copy/edit on the list. Congratulations. I am very happy that someone finally finished that one, I started it a long time ago, but (as you know) did not finish. Tell me if you like me to help with another list... are you working on the 90s list? Jaespinoza (talk) 20:48, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I will start research for the 90s list. Jaespinoza (talk) 06:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Of course I am in... just tell me what to do. Jaespinoza (talk) 19:51, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
I read the invitation, it looks good to me. Jaespinoza (talk) 06:11, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
About the Latin Pop list for the 90s, I was thinking about something like this, divide the list on "issues" and "weeks", so they can pass easily the FL status, which would be great for the latin project. If you need help with articles, just ask. I think I have some information about that Roberto Carlos album. Also, from the 80's list I remember that another album by Emmanuel hit the top of the chart, Toda la Vida y Otros Grandes Exitos or something like that. Was a number-one album at least one week. I found it when I started research for the 80s, if I found the reference I'll send it to you. Jaespinoza (talk) 07:40, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Contra La Corriente

I will need at least a week to check what can be added in order to promote it, but the current version looks well-rounded from my perspective. - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:06, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Nice Work!QuAzGaA 19:28, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

¡Muchas gracias! I'm just need someone to do a GA review on it and see if it passes. ¡Wepa! Magiciandude (talk) 19:31, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

It is not...

It is not the same song. I thought about it and did a little research when I wrote the article for "La Cima del Cielo". The first version of the song "Me Va a Extranar" is ITALIAN!, it was written by Alejandro Bigazzi and Umberto Tozzi, with the spanish adaptation by Montaner. I also wanted to link the song with Ray Charles but I could not. It is very nice to read you, and please, call me Javier, my first name. Jaespinoza (talk) 20:40, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Re:Contra La Corriente (Marc Anthony album)

I saw your message and I went ahead to check out the article. I must say that it is a damn good article and should nave no problems making "GA". Good luck. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:35, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

RIAA certifications

Hi Erick. It is a very good question, and here it is the answer. You should check the certification type, if it says ST means that is standard for the United States (Gold: 500,000; Platinum: 1,000,000; Diamond: 10,000,000); if it reads LA means Latin standard (Gold: 50,000; Platinum 100,000; 2X Multiplatinum 200,000; 4X Multiplatinum 400,000; no 6X Multiplatinum since it means that it sold at least 500,000 albums which is enough for a standard Gold certification; 8X Multiplatinum 800,000... after this it goes to standard platinum. I know is tricky... but I hope you find this information helpful. About our Latin project, I will follow you lead. Jaespinoza (talk) 05:56, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Of course you can include my work in the project. I will also add my user name.Jaespinoza (talk) 02:33, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello !! from Moxy

Hello new friend...was thinking that you should ask the people who take care of Template:WikiProject Latin America to add the new Latin portal...I would do this my self but its a big code change that should be discussed first...For example when i tag articles with the Template:WikiProject Canada..it will show all the portals for the project that are selected....if you like we could make a proposal....
See the difference bellow
So the portal will appear in all the Talk pages that have the template.........

WikiProject iconCanada: Music Unassessed
WikiProject iconThis article is within the scope of WikiProject Canada, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of Canada on Wikipedia. If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the discussion and see a list of open tasks.
???This article has not yet received a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.
???This article has not yet received a rating on the project's importance scale.
Taskforce icon
This page is supported by WikiProject Canadian music.

Template without |music=yes {{WikiProject Canada}} Will still show the Canada portal

WikiProject iconCanada Unassessed

So the coding is even in a sandbox so other counties can play with it --> Template:WikiProject Canada/sandbox

Enslaving students :)

A couple of years ago, I had two classes of advanced English students in Toluca, Mexico write articles for WP. Im going to do this again, this time with my Business English class, with an eye on having them write a B class (minimum) article as their final project. The last time I did this, I was a relative newbie on WP, and I went around willy nilly looking for folks to help out the class as mentors, especially in wiki-tasks like wikifying, categorizing, etc. as I have limited time to teach wiki skills. I would, of course, teach the academic English skills and citation. Might you be interested in helping out and/or spreading the word that I need mentors for my students? I'll have them look for mentors themselves (gotta remember to find the newbie pages), but any head start would be great due to the semester calendar.Thelmadatter (talk) 21:04, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thanks for the notification. I am so sorry about that... I like succession boxes, I think is the main reason for my wikipedia project for the Top Latin Songs and Top Latin Albums... Jaespinoza (talk) 21:21, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

I thought out collaboration for "A Puro Dolor" went very well. If you want we can keep working on that article. I like Luis Miguel a lot, if you want to expand an article about him, let's do it, I am happy to help. I have to make articles for "El Día Que me Quieras" (expand) and "La Media Vuelta", because those songs hit number-one. About "Amor Prohibido"... let me tell you her articles and the ones about Enrique Iglesias were my first project here on Wikipedia. "Amor Prohibido" was a very small article when I did it, I am glad to see that someone is expanding those. Cheers!. Jaespinoza (talk) 22:35, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Okay. I am currently working on Amar la Trama by Jorge Drexler (an amazing album). I'll finish today and let you know. After that I can work on the Luis Miguel articles. Jaespinoza (talk) 03:13, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Please let me know what do you think about this article I just wrote: Amar la Trama. I want your feedback!. Cheers. Jaespinoza (talk) 07:41, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Non-free images

I've replied on my talk page. Best, Black Kite (t) (c) 21:59, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Magiciandude, the fault for this is probably mine, not yours. I should have caught it before Black Kite did; but images aren't exactly my strong point (yet... working on it). Thanks again for both of your time, and BK's patience in explaining something I should have understood better. ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 22:11, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Ah well, I'm just glad I was able to provide my feedback to the best of my ability and it turned out better than I expected. We all learned something from this and that is what helps us prevent the same mistake of doing it again. :) Magiciandude (talk) 22:16, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: Prince Royce

Why, yes I shall! haha. Just thought the article had info that wasn't on here. I might need you to help me with the stuff I put on there too, because I'm a bit of a rookie lol. Thanks buddy, Garry says OK (talk) 23:03, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

That's a well written article, my friend. I usually do look at other articles while I'm creating one just do I can see what an article needs. I think the best one I did, so far, was Lumidee discography. And yes, I understand the redirect...I thought about how much notability Corazon Sin Cara lacked after I created it. So, I'll be sure to get your help when neccessary, I've been learning quickly, Garry says OK (talk) 23:18, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I do. I love all kinds of music but lately more into latin music and I've notice the english latin articles are neglected. Yeah, I would like to join. Thank you, Garry says OK (talk) 01:56, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Cool, cool! I know a lot of latin music articles that have a lot notability but lack that info. So I'll be getting on those :) Thanks again, Garry says OK (talk) 02:20, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I missed the Latin Grammys, I intended on watching it but I don't know lol. I just watched it from the link you sent me...I liked that performance and Nelly Furtado's as well. I updated the Prince Royce album on the performance long time ago and thought, "hmm, I wonder how that went?" lol. Didn't expect Ben E. King to appear. By the way, I've created this article last week and never got around to it again. It's Amarte a la Antigua. I don't know too much about Pedro Fernandez, I just got into his music. Do you think you can help me there? Garry says OK (talk) 02:37, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, isn't Vicente Fernandez the father of Alejandro? OK, I'll go see if he can check the article out or I can probably do some research if most of the press releases and magazine articles aren't all in spanish lol. Mientes is a good song, I've heard that a couple times before and wondered who that was lol. OK, if you need any assistance on some of those Camila articles, just let me know. Actual, you can assign me some articles, I can do some research on them too. Garry says OK (talk) 20:43, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

GA review

Thanks for contacting me. The review looks very well done, good job on catching many of the article's issues. The only significant issue I see is that the citations should be formatted a bit better. For example, current citations 14 and 15 are vague. In addition, citation 24 links to a YouTube video which is discouraged (also 26). I would recommend that the nominator look for any other more reliable sources that may be available to source the article. If the plot of the music video is being described, then no citation is needed since it's just covering the details (similar to how plot summaries of films/TV shows are not sourced). However, if interpretations of the music video are covered, that would need to be cited. Hopefully this is helpful, but if you would like further clarification, please let me know. --Happy editing! Hello, I just finished with my project on "Dreaming of You" (User:AJona1992/Sandbox8) now all I need to do next is fixed, if any, grammatical errors. If you can look over it before I move it to the article that would be very much appreciated thanks AJona1992 (talk) 17:31, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Question.

Can you check something out for me? It's "File:Lumidee.jpg"...I kind of have no clue what I do with images and the fair use and whatnot! I need help with this image. Thanks friend, Garry says OK (talk) 01:46, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: Corazon Sin Cara #1 on Tropical Songs

Hi there!. I have been searching for some Mexican magazines about Segundo Romance since we already search on the web and there is not much info about it. Jaespinoza (talk) 01:58, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
How about Vuelve by Ricky Martin or maybe an album by Marc Anthony? Jaespinoza (talk) 02:22, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
I like Anthony, but I am not a fan, however I expanded the article for "I Need to Know" and wrote all the articles for the singles of his first English album. I love those songs. Let's try Camila!. Articles for all members, discography, etc. I like that band a lot. What do you think? Jaespinoza (talk) 06:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
I knew it. Camila rocks. Let's work. Jaespinoza (talk) 10:18, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
That sucks big time... and yet is maybe is our best push to keep working on the Latin music articles. Jaespinoza (talk) 03:18, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey Erick. About the Fernando Osorio article, I wrote it because I want to finish all for the list of the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist, but I want them to be accurate. I searched on billboard.com for the Celia Cruz song, I found it on the date that I wrote the article and now... the link is gone! I do not know why they keep moving their info. It is frustrating!. The article Contra La Corriente (Marc Anthony album) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Contra La Corriente (Marc Anthony album) for things which need to be addressed. • FYI... there is no required fair use rationale for providing external links. That is only for audio uploaded to the Wiki's. So your explanation of the removal for the External Audio links here, IMO does not apply. QuAzGaA 22:15, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

    • I agree with Quazgaa, as far as I know, fair use rationale applies to the uploading of copyrighted images and not to external links. I complied with a request, however, if Magiciandude feels more comfortable by removing the audio upload from the article which he has posted for "GA", then let it be. Camila

I want you to know that pages are not copy-pasted, they are moved. TbhotchTalk C. 18:09, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

I am quite aware. However, the pages I moved to already existed. I moved from Camila (band) to Camila, and Camila to Camila (disambiguation). Then again, I think I should asked first. Magiciandude (talk) 18:18, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
No, you are not understanding. Copypasting pages creat copyright violations, see Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves. Actually, three other pages called "Camila" exist, so a movement will be improper. TbhotchTalk C. 18:22, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
