Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, LeónGonsalvesofGoa, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Goa, seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 08:21, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm feeling a bit baffled. How am I including promotional content?LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 17:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I just realized that you copied content from List of people from Goa into Goa. I apologise for the above message implying that you're promoting. Also, we don't have to copy all the content. Separate pages exist for their topics. And, in cases where we copy from page to another in Wikipedia, we need to attribute it as described at WP:CWW. Welcome to Wikipedia, happy editing and sorry once again! — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 07:51, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did some further reading. I don't understand why the section has to remain blank on the page. Could you please clarify? LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:28, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No problem at all, I appreciate your swift response. I have a lot of reading to do.LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 17:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the drive!

See a    "developing" or    "least developed" country? Write about it to earn points!

Welcome to the 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest, LeónGonsalvesofGoa! The contest is now open for submissions. List your work at your submissions page to earn points. If you haven't done so already, please review the following:

  • Got open nominations? List them at review requests.
  • Looking for a topic to work on? Check out suggested articles and eligible reviews.
  • Not sure if your article qualifies? See the guidelines for more information or contact a coordinator for verification.
  • New to Wikipedia? Many experienced editors are part of this contest and willing to help; feel free to ask questions about the contest on the talk page.

After reviewing the contest, I don't think I am qualified to review pages. I'd like to withdraw and work on developing my expertise before participating in similar contests. LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 04:09, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey León, I'm sorry to hear that! I have removed you from the contest at your request. I do want you to be informed, however, that the DCWC rewards more than just reviewing. For example, you could create an article to nominate at Did you know? or In the news, which you may then nominate to be a good article — which are all non-reviewing opportunities. If you would like to improve your content reviewing skills specifically, you can ask for a mentor, and an experienced editor will guide you through your first review of a good article nominee on a topic of your choice. I'm here to answer any relevant questions if you have them! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:58, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, I would benefit from mentorship. I'm a bit stretched for time, so I will pace myself. Do I need to re-enlist? My name is still on the sign-up list. (Wikipedia:2024 Developing Countries WikiContest/Signups) LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:09, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great to hear that! I have put your name back up on the leaderboard; no further action is needed from you. I hope you'll find the mentorship resources educational, and I'm looking forward to your submissions to the contest! I just want to leave another friendly reminder that you can always reach out on the contest talk page for help and guidance from other experienced participants. Let me know if you have any questions! Bangladesh Anti-Hindu Violence 2024: Concerns About Recent Edits

[edit]

I noticed that your recent edits to the section on the anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh from September 6, 2024, removed crucial details and citations from my contribution. The removed information provided essential context about the attack, including specifics about the mosque's involvement and the resulting injuries.

Please be aware that these edits may violate Wikipedia’s guidelines on neutrality and verifiability. The changes seem to obscure significant aspects of the incident, potentially misleading readers. My code edit was intended to ensure the article reflects an accurate and comprehensive account based on reliable sources.

I suggest we discuss this on the talk page to address these concerns and ensure that all relevant information is presented fairly and accurately. Restoring the detailed information is crucial for maintaining the article’s integrity. JESUS (talk) 06:27, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
