I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Metropolitan State University Library and Learning Center. Thanks! Naraht (talk) 18:00, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is a *very* good draft and I think with *very* little additional work, not only would this be approved, but you'd be a pretty good wikipedia editor at a very fast pace. There are a *few* things I would suggest.

  1. You've got the misspelling mabe.
  2. Take a look at WP:NAMEDREFS That enables two identical references to be grouped together down in the references and use the same number.
  3. Look at the various cite templates. (for example: Template:Cite book and Template:Cite web.)

I'll go ahead and approve this if you want, the only question is where do you want to make this the best article, before or after it is approved. :)Naraht (talk) 18:16, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for your suggestions and help! This is my first article, and I have lots to learn, so I appreciate any and all advice. I've taken care of the citations and the misspelling, so this article is hopefully ready to go! Knbhall90 (talk) 05:42, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Metropolitan State University Library and Learning Center, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.
The article has been assessed as Start-Class, which is recorded on the article's talk page. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for Creation if you prefer.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

[edit]

I've published the article, and there are a small number of improvement/tweeks that I'd normally do myself that I'm going to list to give you practice. Think of it as "The Wikipedia Adventure" - The next level. :)

  1. Reference 11 has a misplaced character that is screwing up the template.
  2. The link in the first paragraph to Metropolitan University should be Metropolitan State University
  3. References come after punctuation not before (There is a bot that helps with that, so that might end up done.
  4. The Article needs categories. This probably includes something like Libraries in Minnesota, but there might be a subcat under that for St. Paul.
    1. One of those Categories *should* be specifically for Metropolitan State University (Minnesota), for both the library and the school but that doesn't exist yet. See Category:Universities and colleges in Minnesota for some of the ones that already exist.

Note some of these may end up being done by others, but that's OK...Naraht (talk) 10:50, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again for all your help! Knbhall90 (talk) 15:35, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite what I had in mind for the category. There should be a Category:Metropolitan State University in Category:Universities and colleges in Minnesota and then Metropolitan State University Library and Learning Center should be in there (as well as the University with an empty sortkey). The Library itself, doesn't belong in Category:Universities and colleges in Minnesota but rather in its subcat. Let me know if you want me to do this.Naraht (talk) 19:16, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How do I create a category? I'd be happy to do this, I am just really not certain what I need to do. Knbhall90 (talk) 00:47, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
