Laura Massey (Deletion Review)

[edit]

Hello,

I'm very new to wikipedia's code of operating so bear with me please ;) I'm posting this on your talk page, because that's what the deletion review article said I should do before opening another deletion review.

Laura Massey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Massey has had three deletion reviews all of which have resulted in her page being kept deleted. I have two other sources that were not brought up in the last deletion review for some reason that I would like you to consider.

http://www.geekwire.com/2011/geek-week-laura-massey-xbox-software-engineer http://bnbgaming.com/2011/05/17/an-interview-with-nerd-trivia-creator-laura-massey

I'm not exactly sure what is needed to get her page back, but she is a growing public figure at Microsoft and is now a Project Manager leading "Xbox Incubation". Google and Bing results for her have increased to 1,270,000 and 11,200,000 respectively.

She has created her own project (game) named NerdTrivia http://nerdtrivia.net/ which has thousands (7,074) players and has raised press coverage in the above links.

If this information isn't enough to restore her page can you let me know in "simple" terms what wikipedia is looking for? I really don't fully understand this process and she seems to have done some very notable things in public in and out of her work at Microsoft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bawitdaba1337 (talkcontribs) 05:19, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can resubmit for deletion review if you like. -- King of 19:02, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This message is written in Spanish. As you know Spanish, try you to understand me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.142.210.149 (talk) 01:59, 4 March 2012 (UTC) Estimado usuario:[reply]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.142.210.149 (talk) 00:31, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Misbehaving school IP

[edit]

Recently, you unblocked 38.104.251.66 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) following a phone call from the school board. Their behavior since then has not exactly been constructive. I came pretty close to blocking them again, but would like to hear your opinion in the matter. Favonian (talk) 17:06, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just emailed them telling them to try to monitor what their students are doing on Wikipedia, let's wait for their reply. -- King of 17:20, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They told me they hired someone to do that and would do some IP blocking for schools. -- King of 19:04, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for looking into it. Let's hope they get their charges under control. Favonian (talk) 19:06, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I write on behalf of BOBCATSSS (formerly described under http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcatsss). You seem to be responsible for the deletion of the page.

I have two concerns:

1. Would it be possible to receive the original text of the BOBCATSSS page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcatsss ? We would like to set up a page for the conference on www.bobcatsss.org . The content of the Wikipedia page would be of much help to create this web site.

2. I would like to ask you (or whoever has the power to do it - I am not a Wikipedia expert) to restore the Wikipedia page on BOBCATSSS. BOBCATSSS has been a major event of public interest for 20 years. BOBCATSSS is an international annual scientific conference on Library and Information Science (LIS) under the auspices of EUCLID (http://euclid-lis.eu/ European Association for Library & Information Education and Research). It is true that the conference is organised by students, but this is not a deficiency but a special asset. Contributions come from professionals and academia including research and teaching. Usually, proceedings are being printed by renown publishers (this year by Bock+Herchen who is well known in the LIS community). In January we had the 20th conference in Amsterdam with about 450 participants from all continents. All major European LIS universities were represented. About 25 participants came from the United States although the renown conference of the American Library Association (ALA) took place at the same time. Next BOBCATSSS conferences will take place in Ankara (2013) and Barcelona (2014).

Best regards, Wolf-Fritz Riekert

Speedy notification tag for Scott DuBois

[edit]

Dear King of Hearts,

I accidentally only uploaded the first paragraph of my biographical sketch of the jazz guitarist/composer Scott DuBois before adding the rest of it. In the meanwhile you seem to have tagged it for speedy deletion. Now that I have added the rest to it, would you mind undoing that step, please? Many thanks,

Chris — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisZ1976 (talkcontribs) 03:45, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The speedy deletion tag is no longer there. -- King of 08:08, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
