50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time

[edit]

Why did you delete the article "50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time (TV series)"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.204.202.14 (talk) 20:51, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time (TV series). -- King of 22:47, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm off to bed now, but you may need to keep an eye out as you've unprotected - this user runs off a dynamic IP and way well return to the page. Cheers, Black Kite 00:46, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I extended the block. -- King of 00:49, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Filter 225

[edit]

Could you fix 225 so that it doesn't match when users cite WP:PEACOCK, false positive here. Thanks, Cenarium (talk) 13:26, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It has already been done. -- King of 05:08, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, what the heck. But only in the morning :P I'm feeling a bit sleep at the moment. Cheers, I'mperator 00:58, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On a totally unrelated note, I was wondering whether [1], [2], and [3] meet the WP:NFCC criteria on the article Treehouse of Horror II, as they don't really seem to serve any other purpose than to decorate. I've provided a reasonable explanation for [4], though, so that should satisfy WP:NFCC. Thoughts? Cheers, I'mperator 14:45, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that a single image for the episode would be appropriate. -- King of 21:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. BTW, will you be doing the nom? :) Cheers, I'mperator 22:10, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm almost done writing it. When I'm done, the RfA subpage will appear, but the time doesn't start until you accept. -- King of 22:12, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here goes nothing...thanks a ton, btw :) Cheers, I'mperator 22:24, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
UPDATE:I've just transcluded the RfA D= Cheers, I'mperator 23:25, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for unprotection

[edit]

Hi King, a while ago you protected List of rocket and mortar attacks in Israel in 2009. Can you please unprotect it? There was recently a unanimous RfC consensus at the article's talk page to merge List of rocket and mortar attacks in Israel in 2009 following the Gaza War into the article, but nobody can do it because of the protection. Thanks, Jalapenos do exist (talk) 23:17, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Xeno's RFB

Dear King of Hearts, thanks for moving the discussion to the talk page. The drama on Xeno's RFB is getting out of control. AdjustShift (talk) 15:49, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help to stop uploads

[edit]

Please, help stopping Puepue11 (talk · contribs) from re-uploading a bunch more of those football images like the ones you deleted at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 September 2. He just started uploading new-ones, just as bad as the older ones.

Please, avoid the bureaucracy this time and do the Right Thing. --Damiens.rf 21:48, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have given him a warning. -- King of 20:09, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Will you delete the images? --Damiens.rf 12:02, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've put disputed tags on them, and they should be deleted in a week. -- King of 02:24, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Consider spending your bureaucratic skills elsewhere. --Damiens.rf 12:43, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Patience is a virtue, my friend. As for your concern, deletion tags are designed to minimize bureaucracy, compared to a discussion. If it stays for one week, so what? It's not illegal content, after all, just a violation of Wikipedia policy. If he decides to contest it, it just might be one of those rare cases where fair use is permitted; who knows? If we just could arbitrarily delete stuff we thought didn't belong, then there would be no reason for the process to exist. -- King of 05:22, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just in the case you give a shit, the guy is still uploading the same kind of images as soon of today. What's your next bureaucratic step? --Damiens.rf 23:00, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Nirvana-Nirvana.jpg deletion

[edit]

A few weeks ago you put a hold on the deletion of File:Nirvana-Nirvana.jpg until the outcome of a deletion discussion from the Commons was over. The discussion is is now over and the file was kept, which means that File:Nirvana-Nirvana.jpg can now be deleted. – Zntrip 22:45, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CSD A3

[edit]

Hi, King of Hearts. I was interested to read your interpretation of the CSD A3 criteria. I wondered about that clause "a very short article may be a valid stub if it has context". The specific case given seems to be on the borderline. In any case, the deleting admin should allow some leeway to the article's creator to expand the article within a reasonable time frame. Axl ¤ [Talk] 16:55, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have to agree, it is somewhat of a fine line. But since CSD is designed for uncontroversial cases, the rule is: when in doubt, don't use it. -- King of 04:18, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Best wishes. Axl ¤ [Talk] 07:37, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

fetch

[edit]

I was told to go here from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#List_of_FETCH.21_with_Ruff_Ruffman_episodes_.28edit.7Ctalk.7Chistory.7Clinks.7Cwatch.7Clogs.29, if I am in the wrong area please tell me where to go

Unprotection, This page is semi-protection it is only a few ip users who are vandlising the page and it all ways the same ones. some of the edit's from the ip's are helpfull in some way. I have been watching the page for some time now since it was protected last time and it was not realy vandalised, just edit's without references, and switching last names was the only problem i encountered. I'm confident we can remove the semi-protection now and give the ip's another chance. I will also keep watching and if anything major happens we can protect it again. Extremeguy (talk) 20:20, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Sounds reasonable to me but you should contact the protecting admin with your request.--RegentsPark (sticks and stones) 21:59, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks Extremeguy (talk) 00:37, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Before considering unprotection, please read Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fjfhgfhdstty and then consider the likely reason why this request has been made. After several months I've learned that Fjfhgfhdstty is a lot smarter than he/she appears. I'm more than happy to elaborate on this but would prefer to do so privately. --AussieLegend (talk) 00:42, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Xelogen Article

[edit]

I depend on wikipedia for basic, if not completely factual, information, and was surprised to see you deleted a article relating to the word "Xelogen" while I was researching what exactly a Xelogen Light was all about. You apparently did not bother to look too far, and why you would need a technical article to validate what "Xelogen" is is weird - Like, does SPAM (the meat) require technical analysis to qualify to be included in Wikipedia?

Here is a link explaining what Xelogen is:

http://en.allexperts.com/e/x/xe/xelogen.htm

Please replace the papa so people like me do not have to spend 20 additional minutes researching for a explaination! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.74.251.15 (talk) 01:32, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:RS. Any article must have support in reliable sources in order to be included. -- King of 21:50, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Admin Coaching

[edit]

Hi there,

I noticed on WP:ADCO that you had listed yourself as having 4/5 spots filled. Do you think it would be possible for you to take on one more? I recently ran Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/MacMed, and I feel that admin coaching could help prepare me for a second run. I have also tried to build on the content related opposes, and I have an article up at FAC right now. If you reply here, please leave a talkback notice on my talk. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 15:18, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. I'll get you started in just a sec. -- King of 21:30, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
