Stop making requests for page protection; you have no idea what you're doing

[edit]

It is clear you have not read the page protection policy and so do not understand what you're requesting. In addition, you've posted requests with totally bogus reasons for protection. Read the WP:Protection policy. If you continue to post these false requests you will be sanctioned. BusterD (talk) 06:15, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hi JustYourImaginaryGuy! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. You have been blocked temporarily from editing from certain pages (Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Increase) for continuing to request page protection even though none of the requests need the attention.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: .  BusterD (talk) 14:38, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ezra Miller

[edit]

Hello, please stop changing the section title of "Legal issues" on Ezra Miller the article. There's no need. Linkin Prankster (talk) 10:37, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested for page protection

[edit]

You have been blocked once for making frivolous requests at WP:Requests for page protection. Are you sure that leaving comments like this is a good idea? —C.Fred (talk) 04:31, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Increase, Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease, and Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit) for a period of 1 month for repeatedly making pointless protection requests in spite of several warnings and one previous block. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: .  Favonian (talk) 09:28, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024

[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at 1974 Monaco Grand Prix. You are just on a rampage of pointless edits. These photo changes are often downgrades. Every edit is falsely marked as WP:MINOR. You did WP:OR on this one. WP:EDITSUMMARY. You need to be blocked more.Smuckola(talk) 10:49, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Ezra Miller, you may be blocked from editing. Your unexplained, repeated addition of "Controversies" to the "Legal issues" header of this subject's article has already been reverted and contested in the past, which is WP:UNDUEWEIGHT and also broke the redirect Controversies surrounding Ezra Miller. Final Warning

[edit]

Hello. I'm Serge, an Admin here on Wikipedia. I'm a bit concerned with your editing so far. I'm seeing a lot of warnings that you've failed to address, sometimes requiring an escalation to partial blocks. And I see you continually making edits that are being quickly undone by others.

Wikipedia is a collaborative project. You need to be able to work with others, not just do whatever you want. You need to address and change your behaviors rather than ignore them and continue to make the same unhelpful edits that keep getting undone.

I understand it takes some time to learn how Wikipedia works. I'm sympathetic to that. But I'm not sympathetic to people who aren't making an effort to figure it out. And I'm not seeing any evidence like that here. If you don't stop making the same mistakes, you're going to find your account blocked from editing all pages. So please start reviewing the warnings on this talk page, start acknowledging people's concerns, ask questions if you need to. If you don't change your conduct, you will be blocked. Sergecross73 msg me 17:48, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, things like "misusing the minor button" and "needless image changes without explanation" were things you were asked to address and/or stop, and you're still not. Nor have you even addressed me or anything I've said. Is this really the path you're choosing? Sergecross73 msg me 23:22, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, you still haven't stopped, so you're blocked for 1 week. I'm open to unblocking sooner, but you need to address these issues. If you won't...then it'll last the full week. Sergecross73 msg me 13:15, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what caused you to return from your 1 week block and make another unexplained image change, but at least you undid it. (Though I don't know what possessed you to do it in the first place.]
I do not understand why you continue this behavior and refuse to engage in discussion with anyone, but you're on your last chance now. If all these talk page comments/warnings/blocks continue to go addressed, your account will be blocked again. Sergecross73 msg me 16:17, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In response to this, your "editing as usual" is about to get you blocked again. Really hope you have more to say for yourself that that. Sergecross73 msg me 23:04, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

You have refused to stop your disruptive editing. You've refused to stop abusing the "minor edit" button. You've refused to stop changing images without explanation or reason. And you've refused to engage in meaningful discussion with myself or anyone else about these issues. As such, your account is blocked indefinitely. Sergecross73 msg me 19:31, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sergecross73 unblock me you idiot or else i will block you back JustYourImaginaryGuy (talk) 01:33, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to request an WP:UNBLOCK from another admin, though, comments like that are probably about the worst thing you could say to persuade someone. Sergecross73 msg me 01:40, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I already learned my mistakes i promised i will never make disruptive editing on some Wikipedia pages again

Decline reason:

With the block record you have, and what transpired above, it's probably a little too soon to properly judge this apparent change of heart. Usually when we've given in to these in the past, it hasn't worked out. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:33, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Confirmed block evasion as Yeoobabab. Pretty clear this user hasn't had a change of heart. --Yamla (talk) 10:36, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Come on, you haven't addressed a single thing said to you on this talk page, and you want to convince people you've changed? I'm still not even certain you've read or taken the time to even understand the problems, let alone "changed". Sergecross73 msg me 14:00, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I want to edit more pages on Wikipedia. After realizing what i did before, i regretted it. I promise i will use Wikipedia like how properly, and i will never do more disruptive editing

Decline reason:

You've worked hard to demonstrate you have no intention of following our policies. Try again no sooner than six months from today under the terms of WP:SO. That requires zero edits and no block evasion between now and then. Yamla (talk) 15:10, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I promise i want to do good editing on Wikipedia. The reason why i keep making pointless edits, such as downgrading pictures is because at the time i am still relatively new to Wikipedia, and i didn't know how to use it. I'm also very stupid about making same page protection requests, and i didn't mean to be rude at an Admin, but now i already learn it. From now on, i want to be a good editor on Wikipedia, and i've learn all my mistakes

Decline reason:

Since you have used more than one account, the unblock account needs to come from your main account. Further, as is noted above, don't expect an ublock to be considered anything within six months after your block. —C.Fred (talk) 03:09, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024

Let the record show he was caught block evading in April 2024. Sergecross73 msg me 11:57, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sergecross73 and Yamla: Can you state the username? Is Ccole2006 (talk · contribs) a possible sockpuppet per WP:DUCK? Same behavior on some of the same articles. — Smuckola(talk) 17:21, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no evidence to believe Ccole2006 is a sock, but am not ruling it out. That account has been around since 2019-10-06, though, which makes it less likely in my opinion. I haven't looked at the checkuser data. Sergecross73 probably has more information. --Yamla (talk) 19:03, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see them both struggling with poor image choices and poor protection request choices...but that's it. I don't see any real article/subject area overlap. And quite frankly, I see a lot of editors make bad image change choices like this. I don't believe they're the same person. Sergecross73 msg me 19:58, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

Request reason:

I already learned my past mistakes, now please unblock me. I also want to forgive everyone else in the Wikipedia community, and its administrators. I also did not want to vandalize any wikipedia pages anymore JustYourImaginaryGuy (talk) 05:26, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate and confirm that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:

    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...),
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • and do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits have any citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking using unblock and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will hopefully improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:09, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
