[edit]

Hello, Julan, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I hope you will have a successful time contributing to the encyclopaedia, but there are a few points you should know, relating to the editing you have done on your user page.

  1. A Wikipedia user page is for someone who is active in working for the project to give a little information about himself or herself in connection with his or her work for the encyclopaedia: it is not a place to post a personal web page, unrelated to work for Wikipedia.
  2. Editing to promote, publicise, or advertise anything is not permitted by Wikipedia policy. That includes promotion of yourself, your work, and any FaceBook and Twitter accounts.
  3. This is the English language Wikipedia, and all contributions should be in English. To my surprise, it seems from the list of all Wikipedias that there is no Filipino Wikipedia, unfortunately. I am sure there should be.

As I said, I hope you will have a successful time contributing to the encyclopaedia, but I'm afraid your user page is unsuitable, and will have to be deleted. JamesBWatson (talk) 17:26, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is a Cebuano language Wikipedia, which is second only to the English wiki in terms of article numbers. There is also a Tagalog language Wikipedia, and a Waray language one, Ilocano language, and so forth. So I'd say that the Philippines are well-represented! Elizium23 (talk) 07:04, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Elizium23: OK, thanks. Evidently I am pretty ignorant about the linguistic situation in the Philippines. JBW (talk) Formerly known as JamesBWatson 19:42, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging other editors

[edit]

Above, I said "It is usually best to answer messages on the page where they were originally posted". Obviously, if you answer another editor's message here, you will want to make sure that editor sees your answer, and there is a way of doing that. Suppose, for example, you want me to see a message that you write. In that message include {{Ping|JBW}}, and also make sure that you sign your message by typing ~~~~ at the end of it. I will then be automatically notified of your message. It's easy, but there are just a couple of things you need to know to make sure it works. (1) The "ping" and the ~~~~ must both be in the same post. It will not work if, for example, you do the ping then realise you forgot the ~~~~ and do that in a separate edit. (2) For some reason it works only if your message adds a new line: it won't work if you just add a new sentence onto an existing line. Information icon Hello, I'm Mcmatter. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Ferdinand Marcos seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 03:20, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am so sorry if the added contents are seemed to be biased to somebody but they are verifiable. Please protect the said page of article for the reason that it has been vandalized already by Anti-Marcoses. Such as using “kleptocrat” and the like to the description reflects how some other users of the Wiki community abused their previlege given to them. I am suggesting that the said article be protected and closed to everyone. Let the legit users and know-it-all individuals take the responsibility of editing. Thank you and God bless! Jsnueva1022 (talk) 03:29, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is with your overtly positive opinion replacing well cited content as well as removing references. You provided no references for your opinion. Page protection is not required at this point as there has been no ongoing vandalism. If you have issues with the content please take it to the article talk page and provide references to support your claims. Wikipedia is not about what we believe but what has been published by reliable sources. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 03:43, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay Sir. I will provide some citations and prove the authenticity of the contents. Thank you and God bless! Jsnueva1022 (talk) 03:52, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please reply here not somewhere else, like my talk page, as mentioned above we like to keep the conversation in one place. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 03:58, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing problems with neutral point of view (Reply)

[edit]

Sir/Madam, there is a user in Wikipedia that warned me already in editing the Ferdinand Marcos article and I abstained visiting and editing the said page anymore. I am taking care of my actions now. I am contributing contents as well as photos with neutral point of view. I was enough on that article and I will let other people make contributions to that. I am very careful now knowing that I did unfavorable actions. Jsnueva1022 (talk) 12:17, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Changing “Tagalog Wikipedia” to “Filipino Wikipedia”

[edit]

Hello Jsnueva1022, I left a reply to your post Changing “Tagalog Wikipedia” to “Filipino Wikipedia”. Please check. Thanks! Allenjambalaya (talk) 00:47, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source for this name change? Regards, Sun Creator(talk) 18:10, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unless there are very specific reasons for doing otherwise, Wikipedia stye is to use the name most commonly used in English, not the name which you, I, or any other Wikipedia editor think should be used. JBW (talk) Formerly known as JamesBWatson 19:04, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Asian giant softshell turtle at Philippine National Museum
Seems the reason is to insert the uploaded image provided on the right. Reading the text in the image careful, shows it to be a Asian giant softshell turtle, Pelochelys cantorii, the appropriate article for the image is Cantor's giant softshell turtle. So I've added it on that article. Regards, Sun Creator(talk) 20:13, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@JBW: Thank you Sir/Madam for the correction. I thought they were on the same specie provided that they were the same look. I will revert the said article. My apology. Thanks.

Edits on Koko Pimentel

[edit]

Hello! I see you've changed my edits on the Koko Pimentel page without adequate reason, removing my changes. May I ask why you did that? I reworded your edit to make it sound more encyclopedic, omitting unnecessary details and even added a reference. I removed the mention of Felimon Santos Jr., since he is not related to the senator, being a part of the Executive branch, and not the Legislative.

Moreover, the use of "highest ranking" is baseless since it does not mention any ranking system, or describe a system of power that can determine the "highness" of a person within the Philippine government. Additionally, the Philippine legislature does not put any senator higher than the other, nor does it give more power to one or the other chamber of Congress.

Since my edits seem more beneficial to the quality of the article, I'll be reverting my change back soon. If you have any questions, feel free to reply. Chlod (say hi!) 03:38, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Sir/Madam! I thought it was vandalized by other users. Thanks for clarification. God bless and keep up the good work! Jsnueva1022 (talk) 15:07, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jsnueva1022. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Saint Mary’s College of Catbalogan".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 10:24, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of AFPSLAI

[edit]

Hello Jsnueva1022,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged AFPSLAI for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Exchange of work

[edit]

I am wondering if you would be willing to produce a translation of Door County, Wisconsin on tl.wikipedia.org. It would not need to be the whole article, and you could translate from the English one that I linked to or the Japanese version if you prefer (they are rather different versions). There are two main audiences: 1. Immigrants residing in the U.S. who come as tourists 2. Students seeking J-1 visas for summer work. In return I can work on AFPSLAI. Because I am not paid to edit anything on Wikipedia, I think I will have more success in preventing it from being deleted. (But of course nothing is certain.) Would you like to exchange Wikipedia editing with me? I have already left an edit on the article and its talk page.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 06:39, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I am accepting your offer. Good to hear that.🙂 I will translate your article to Tagalog/Filipino in tl.wikipedia.org Jsnueva1022 (talk) 07:18, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article was just deleted; for now I am confident I can rewrite a stub article. One shame was the loss of the photos. Do you have any connections that could fill out the form to the WMF for Wikipedia:Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries? If so it could save a lot of work and allow the photos to be used on Draft:AFPSLAI.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 15:41, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I started a draft page at tl:Tagagamit:Epiphyllumlover/burador Like a scrapyard of old cars, it is good for picking parts from to use in the real article you started. The machine translator is good for translating Wikipedia syntax and also quickly finding blue links in Filipino. I'm not sure if you prefer to translate straight from the English or instead prefer to smooth out a machine translation. I think you prefer to work straight from the English first, but I am not sure. If so, you can feel free to copy and paste references from the burador page into the article as you translate.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 19:13, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Kilometro Kupong

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Kilometro Kupong. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Kilometre zero. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Kilometre zero. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. PamD 05:52, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you would post them on the Talk Page for the article, I will write the information and put it into the Maria Diana's chapel article. The sources do not need to be in English. I can use Google Translate, so that I can read them in English, and ask questions if needed.

It is permitted to use references that are written in a foreign language. But the article must be written in English, and I can help with this. Please post a note on my talk page, if you find some sources. Sincerely,Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 03:21, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have just glanced through your talk page, and see that you are very fluent in English. But the offer still remains and I hope I have not offended you. Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 03:27, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Carmelita Abdurahman moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Carmelita Abdurahman, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ways to improve Pia Ranada

[edit]

Hello, Jsnueva1022,

Thank you for creating Pia Ranada.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thank you for this new article, but I recommend finding more material about the journalist's career and influence, because currently the article only describes her involvement in one controversy. See also WP:BLP1E.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.
