Sorry for the confusion, but I thought that we were going to do it here. Like before, I'd rather do it here or email. I'm sorry. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:37, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok. We'll do it here. Let's make it like a test. You ask me questions and we'll see how much I can remember. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:38, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: Good! First question: If you edited a page and somebody reverts you edit, what should you do? Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:42, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Here's some things I learned:
  1. Talk pages are not forums and you shouldn't talk about things other than Wikipedia and its content.
  2. When editors disagree, they have to discuss it on a talk page. Then they have to reach an agreement, called consensus.
  3. When you copy and paste text from the internet, you have to make it short, and show that it is from another website.
Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:50, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
When someone reverts your edit, you should discuss it with the editor who did it. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:51, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: Good! Another question: Should you or should you not copy-and-paste text from other websites onto an article? Why or why not? Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:56, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
You can copy and paste a little text from another website, but you have to show that it is from that website. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:58, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Example: nasa.gov says, "Former NASA astronaut Michael Collins, who flew aboard Gemini 10 and served as command module pilot for Apollo 11, passed away on April 28, 2021.
“Today the nation lost a true pioneer and lifelong advocate for exploration," said acting NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk. " Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 14:05, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Was I correct, @JackReynoldsADogOwner? Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 14:07, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
I'm officially autoconfirmed now! Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 14:09, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Yes, that was correct, but remeber to always cite the source. Also, congrats! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

When you are citing a newpaper or citing somebody that said something that you want to use, make sure to use quotation ("...") marks around the statement. For example, 'She [ Olivia Rodrigo ] has described herself as "the biggest [fan of Swift] in the whole world"'.[1] But, other than THAT, you cannot copy-and-paste text from other websites. You must re-write so it's in your own word. For example, if I would going to cite from USA Today about an article about the NFL draft surprises, and I wanted to say: "There are plenty of impressive throws in Wilson’s highlight packages, but a fair amount of questions remain. Sure, he can make plays outside the pocket and on the run,"[2] I would rewrite it as, "There are a lot of noteworthy tosses in Wilson's feature bundles, yet a decent measure of inquiries remain. Indeed, he can make plays outside the pocket and on the run."[2] but without the quotation mark. Remember, always cite the source that you've rewritten from. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Anymore questions? Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 14:24, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Also, I uploaded my first image!

What do you think? Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 14:25, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
I have no further question(s) for you, but, when I do have some, I will post it on your talk page. Also, the image looks great, but please make sure to read over WP:UPI first. I hope you did. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Question

Hi Jack (apologies if you don't like me calling you that)! I had a quick question for you: When is it appropriate to use the full names of countries on Wikipedia (i.e. when to use "United States of America", "People's Republic of China", or "Argentine Republic" instead of "United States/US/U.S.", "China", or "Argentina")? Thanks! FredModulars (talk) 00:57, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @FredModulars: You should try to stick to the common name of places (e.g. China instead of People's Republic of China, North Korea instead of Democratic People's Republic of Korea) as much as possible. It is seldom appropriate to use full country names. "She was born in Mexico" is the correct way to say the sentence, whereas "She was born in the United Mexican States" would be incorrect. Please see WP:COMMONNAME for more info. For abbreviation usage, only use them when you think an abbreviation will improve the article as opposed to the common name of the country. See MOS:ABBR for more info on that. Hope this answered your question, thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 03:39, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
@Doggy54321: Thank you so much for the help! I was unsure about an edit I made a long time ago and this clarified my mistake.FredModulars (talk) 13:52, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Check in

Let them eat cake!

Hey Jack! Even though I never officially adopted you, we both see myself as your mentor, so I just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going! I see you have adopted another user! I was reading your interactions, and I am impressed at how well you teach people (and how fast they picked up the information)!! It's nice to have a little grand-mentor moment. I also wanted to wish you a happy belated birthday, I saw in your talk archives that it was your birthday a couple weeks ago, so I wanted to wish you a happy birthday, and bring you a cake. Enjoy! Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 04:05, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

@Doggy54321: Thank you for the cake! I will surely devour the electronic cake by myself! It looks like a chocolate cake and I love those. Yes, I have indeed adopted another user. I am, too, impressed with how they have picked up information quicker than I anticipated. We haven't spoken for a long period of time and it's nice to check up with you! I see you've been making contributions of your own and I must say, I'm impressed with all the contributions you've made! You're doing a great job! Honestly, you should be promoted to admin level. You're amazing at the whole Wikipedia community. I learn from the best of the best: you! Thanks again for the cake and the belated birthday wish! I hope you're doing well and staying healthy and happy! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:16, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
No problem, you deserve it! Chocolate cake is amazing! Yes, it's nice to check in, especially when we haven't interacted in weeks. Thank you so much! There is still so much more for me to learn on Wikipedia, so I don't think an RfA would go down well (not quite yet), but I definitely would like to become an admin one day. Thanks for all the compliments, they put a smile on my face . Thank you, I hope you're staying happy and healthy as well. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 12:34, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Question

Should I tag Geostationary orbit that it is too technical. There is a lot of information which I understand, but I do not know if other users would understand.@CommanderWaterford StarshipSLS (talk) 19:30, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

No, I do not think so, the template is designed if something is explained by far too technical although it could be explained much easier (which here is not the case IMHO). CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:33, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
User:CommanderWaterford But there is a lot of complicated equations.StarshipSLS (talk) 19:35, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Of course, not only school kids are reading those articles, also rocket scientists as well. No problem at all. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:41, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: I understand them myself, but what if a child did read it? They might not understand it.StarshipSLS (talk) 19:42, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: I'm glad to see that you are caring for kids; but, you don't have to tag it as technical. There's also a thing called Google and they can also search the equations and such up. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:09, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Ok, I understand.StarshipSLS (talk) 12:11, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Userpage

Am I aloud to put facts and news about space exploration on my user page?

Example:

Starship SN15 is expected to launch today. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:16, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

What I mean is, can I put information other than about myself in my userpage?StarshipSLS (talk) 15:22, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: Yes, that should be totally fine! Thank you for checking! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:20, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer!StarshipSLS (talk) 15:23, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: My only suggestion to have a heading titled "Facts about ... " Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:25, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
I decided to make a heading called Space News and Facts. Can you look at my user page and see if you have any suggestions on designing it?StarshipSLS (talk) 15:33, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: I'd suggest removing the YouTube link for the livestream because that is considered as advertising/promoting. Other than that, it looks good! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:39, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
But, I am not advertising. I am just putting a link to a livestream for a rocket launch. And the livestream is not created by me. Is there anyway to reference to this livestream?StarshipSLS (talk) 15:44, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
I know you're not advertising. Take a look at WP:UP#PROMO. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:48, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
I read the link you sent me. Can I still put links to livestreams on my userpage?StarshipSLS (talk) 15:51, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
I would say no because I want to be on the safe side. You can never be too cautious. If CommanderWaterford say other wise, go for it. But, for right now, remove the link, please. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:54, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford and JackReynoldsADogOwner:Can I put a link to a livestream on my user page. (See discussion above).StarshipSLS (talk) 15:59, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
No. Reasons given above. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:08, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Primary sources tag

Hi! I just noticed you left a "Primary Sources" tag on the Second Battle of Torreón. Are you sure this is the correct tag? Because the cited sources are both from the 21st century, far after the people involved all died. Was it meant to be the "One Source" tag? Because this article does rely heavily on on particular source. Thanks--Grnrchst (talk) 15:17, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

@Grnrchst: My mistake. That's what I meant to tag. I shall fix that! Thank you for catching that! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:19, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello thanks for all your contributions to this article. Personally I think that it might be more advantageous to hold off on the further reading section because some of those articles such as the New Yorker one are lengthy tracts and might be needed as references as the article grows. Just a thought. Strattonsmith (talk) 18:29, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

@Strattonsmith: I totally agree! I added the further read because I thought that it would help to have all of the source so we can use as references (as you mentioned!) I shall hold off. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 18:33, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

I don't Understand

XecityZaien sent a message to mu talk page asking if I am active. I asked why he/she is asking me this, but his/her reason was not clear. Please look at User talk:StarshipSLS - Wikipedia. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:24, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: No need to worry, I also do not understood their questions. Seems also to be quite a new User. Don't worry. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:17, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
Ok. I will let you know if the user sends me a message again.StarshipSLS (talk) 18:17, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
You don't have to report a new message to us by that user. If he/she is disturbing you and/or bothering, THEN you can report it to us. You can also tell him/her to stop if it ever comes to that situation on their user talk page. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:47, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Jack! I have a big favor to ask you. I've been working on the article Brazilian Military Junta of 1930 for a while now (well, really just early February then an extended break until now). I know it's a lot to ask, but could you mind reading it and giving me some feedback? It's alright if you don't want to. Thanks!

P.S. How do I determine what goes in a "See also" section? FredModulars (talk) 20:00, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

@FredModulars: Oh my goodness! I am honored to help you! I will take a look at it and give you feedbacks! Also, in the /* See also */ section, it's a for internal links of Wikipedia articles. It is before the section of references, and the list of pages are bulleted. Here's a further information about the see also section: MOS:ALSO! I will get back to you on the pages! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:39, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
@FredModulars: I reviewed over the page you provided and the page itself it good and well structed. The only advise/suggestion I have to add more secondary sources to back up the article. Other than that, it's well written. I have looked through your contributions you've made to the article and I'm proud. Your edits are well done and you do an awesome job! Keep up the great work! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:36, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Thank you so much! I'm just a little confused about one thing: Am I always supposed to put "biographies" anytime there is a bibliography section? FredModulars (talk) 13:47, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
@FredModulars: In some cases, no. But, since there are more than one biographies about the subject, that's when you use === Biographies === under == Biography ==. Other times, the biographies section is not necessary, but I added because there are more than one. If you wish to revert back my edit, I don't blame you! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:50, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Thanks for clarifying. I was a little confused since "Biography" is a source about the subject, which the books in the bibliography are not. I'll take your advise and try to find some more books/secondary sources that mention/pertain to the junta. Thanks again for the help, Jack! FredModulars (talk) 15:51, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
I wanted to give you a cookie for your hard work in helping me! StarshipSLS (talk) 00:19, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: That's very nice of you, but you don't have send me WikiLove with every edits I make to help you. But thank you! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:45, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Mentor

Another user than you is listed as my mentor on my newcomer page. I have never even heard of that user before. What do I do? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 17:50, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: Can you please clarify more? Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:09, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Ipigott is listed as my mentor at my homepage ([1]). I asked the user why and he said that it was an issue with an experimental project. Is there anyway I can replace Ipigott with your username?StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:04, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
I see. Don't worry about it. He isn't officially your mentor. I also enabled Display newcomer homepage to see what it was and it had a user as my mentor. I'm not technically adopted, but, I do see User:Doggy54321 as my "unofficial" mentor. If you don't want to see the message, I'd suggest disabling the "Display newcomer homepage" on your Preferences setting. I hope this helps! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:25, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, there's nothing to worry about. I enabled and disabled the newcomer homepage to see what it was about, and it just paired me with an editor. I guess it's a way for new Wikipedia users to automatically be paired with an experienced editor, but you already have Jack as your official mentor, so you should disregard what the homepage says. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 14:32, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
@Doggy54321 and JackReynoldsADogOwner: I think I'm going to keep the newcomer page and just don't worry about it.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Assessing

Assistant, I need help with assessing 513 articles at Category:Unassessed Rocketry articles. I do not have much time to do this. Can you do some?

Guide to assessing Rocketry articles: Wikipedia:WikiProject Rocketry/Assessment. Thank you. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:47, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Well that went fast - from Mentor to Assistant ;-) And now seriously: There is no hurry to assess all those articles and I still suggest kindly that you make yourself comfortable with basic principles here before assessing articles here. CommanderWaterford (talk) 22:22, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner and CommanderWaterford:I am planning to go through the articles slowly. Jack is now both my mentor and my assistant at WP:Rocketry.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 23:19, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Anyway, I do not plan to assess articles much. I am going to rely on other users for that. But right now, I need Jack Reynold's help with assessing rocketry articles.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 23:24, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: First of all, I'm your mentor; not assistance. That does not mean that I will help with pages. I will do my best to assessing those articles; but, not all. I do agree with @CommanderWaterford: that you need to be comfortable with the basic principles here before assessing any articles here. I know you mean will. I will do my best. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to let me know! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:11, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I know. But remember you are my assistant at WP:Rocketry.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 15:07, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: Yes, I remember. I've assessed some of the articles. Hope that's what you're looking for. Soon, I will be asking you more questions and I hope you've been reading up the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:14, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Great! I've noticed that you've already assesed 13 articles. I have a proposal for you. Could you try to assess at least one article every weekday?StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 15:20, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: I will try. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:26, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Although I appreciate every single article being assessed, of course, I may remind you, @StarshipSLS:, that no one here is "your assistant" and before asking others to do some work for you I personally would expect you doing your "homework" first - which is to "inhale" our policies and work on your drafts. Till now I see you put two drafts into our queue, which already is pretty filled up, people invented their voluntary spare time to review them, sysops had to delete the IP duplicates and now they are left without working on them any further. Can we delete them? CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:13, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford:: Jack is not actually my personal assistant but Assistant at WikiProject Rocketry. Also, I still plan to work on those drafts, so please don't delete them.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:18, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Dance dance dance ( Polish TV Series )

I think now this page is fine. Syriusz12345 (talk) 15:17, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@Syriusz12345: I very much disagree. Here's why:
  1. No lead section
  2. Too many Redlinks
  3. Need more information (word wise, not table)
  4. Needs development/background
  5. Needs Secondary Sources

Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:23, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Drafts vs. Creating in Mainspace

When do you create a draft and when do you create an article straight in mainspace? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 23:20, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: Good to question to ask. There are a lot of things that you must first think about when you are creating a page. The two main ones that you must contemplate about is whether your article is ready for mainspace or if it should be in a draft space.
  • Mainspace: Mainspace is for articles that is ready for the public and is finished. This means:
  • Draftspace: Drafts are considered as the beginning level of the process of having an article to be in the mainspace. Draft are strongly suggested for users who are just creating their first article. But the following considerations should also be followed for those who are considering creating an article:
  • Does your article lack references/sources?
  • Is it complete?
  • If not, is it just the beginning?
  • Do you have enough of both primary and secondary sources?
  • Is there not enough information to back up the topic you're writing about?
  • Optional Other Version Sandbox: Sandbox is like a draft; but,

They were created as a place with fewer rules and policies than other pages on Wikipedia. For example, you don't have to follow the Manual of Style or reach community consensus before making a major change. However, they must not be used for malicious purposes, and policies such as no personal attacks, civility, and copyrights (such as non-free content criteria) still apply.

Hope this helps! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:49, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks so much! I think I am just going to stick to drafts until I am doing better with writing articles.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:01, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Richard B. Hetnarski Wikipedia Page

Hi Jack Reynolds,

This is Cayman42 (Frank W. Keene). I would like to know what has to done to improve/correct the page.

Thanks in advance for your help, Frank Keene Cayman42 (talk) 11:39, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

@Cayman42: Hi! First of all, please keep your personal email — if it is — to yourself. Secondly, it's already highlighted on your article. I'm considering moving it to a draft form.
  • Issues:
  1. This article's lead section may be too long for the length of the article:
    1. The lead section is suppose to highlight a person's accomplishment and what they are known for; not their entire story.
  2. This article should be divided into sections by topic, to make it more accessible
    1. With an article, you are suppose to split it up to sections by topic, meaning Early life, Career, Personal life, Legacy, Awards and achievement, and such.
  3. This article's plot summary may be too long or excessively detailed
    1. Just another way to state Issue #1. See above.

Mentors

Can @Neopeius be my mentor too? He/she is open to mentor and has similar interests as me (space exploration). StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:28, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: That is your choice. But my concern is that have you gone through his/her's contributions and made sure that he/she is knowledgeable? Secondly, have you asked that user if he/she is willing to "mentor" a user? And finally, check with @CommanderWaterford:. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:33, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I thought they are already your adoptee or did you break up? CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:00, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: I am flattered at the request, but I'm afraid I'm full up on apprentices right now and couldn't give you the attention you deserve. --Neopeius (talk) 15:04, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: First of all, the way you put that sentence just made me laugh. Second of all, I don't know what you're saying exactly. StarshipSLS whom I adopted asked me if Neopeius could adopt him, but I have not adopted Neopeius. The only other user that I've adopted is FredModulars. Adoptee

Hi,

I am new on Wikipedia and there are a lot of things that i am not familiar with and I am trying to learn. CommanderWaterford suggested you and I also saw your info on the list of adopters. I would like to be a new adoptee of yours if you accept it.

Best Regards, Miriel --MirielTherinde (talk) 17:53, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)@MirielTherinde:I am one of his adoptees and would also recommend him. He knosw a lot about Wikipedia's policies and is a great mentor. I hope he accepts!StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 19:32, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
@MirielTherinde: I'm flattered that you want me to be your adopter. Before I make my final decision, I will look over your contributions so I can get a better know of you. Along with, I hope you have read over WP:AAU and see if you are ready to be adopted. If you haven't already, I would recommend you do so. If there's anything I should know before I make my choice, please let me know! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:08, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

@JackReynoldsADogOwner Thank you. Yes I read that page, I really would love to learn all about it and become a knowledgeable editor. I would love to learn from you. Things you should know is that, English is not my native language and I am interested in history. Also, I am currently doing my master's, therefore I am not online on wikipedia 24 hours but I check it as much as I can. Thank you in advance. I would really appreciate it if you could check my contributions and tell me your thougths. I would also be very happy if you accept me as your adoptee.
    Best Regards,
    Miriel--MirielTherinde (talk) 23:44, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
@MirielTherinde: I have decided to accept your adoption request. In your talk page, I posted a confirmation along with links that will help you. I will check up on you frequently and keep an eye on your contributions. If you have any questions, you can reach out to me here (via talk page) and/or you can email me. With one of my adoptees, I've been questioning them about how Wikipedia works and what is acceptable and what isn't. If you want me to do the same thing to you, I'm happy to. Just let me know! I'm excited to be your adopter and can't wait to work with you! Hope you have a awesome day/night! (P.S. I also love J. R. R. Tolkien's books ). Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:01, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
I see you've adopted a third user! I hope that isn't too much for you! And, I also love J.R.R. Tolkien's books!StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:59, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner @StarshipSLS Thank you so much. This all sounds good, I am excited. I will read these sources and email you for the questions. Hope you have a nice day. (A Tolkien lover! Good to know, maybe we can talk about the books sometime. I also plan to edit, if needed, Tolkien-related articles or maybe create articles, if there aren't any yet, for Tolkien's characters in the future.)

@MirielTherinde: Unfortunately, we should not talk about things other than Wikipedia on Wikipedia talk pages. But if you like, I am at https://www.kiwiirc.com and would be happy to talk there. Also, please remember to sign your name.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:31, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Please be more careful with copyediting templates

This is not a great article, and it needed some copyediting templates (and thanks for trying to help), but the lead was too short, not too long, and the 'too much plot' obviously doesn't apply to biographies. Please be more careful when adding such templates. Instead the glaring issue that should be tagged is {{morefootnotes}}... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:37, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Blockage

CommanderWaterford has been blocked. This is very shocking to me and I am sure it will be to you too. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 21:43, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS: I'll be fine. I am also shocked. I will continue to mentor/adopt you. If you'd like to find another adopter to replace CW's place, feel free to. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 11:51, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
User:VersaceSpace has replaced CW as my second mentor. Of course you will continue to be my adopter as well.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) I am taking a vacation in summer and won't edit in July and August. 12:11, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: I'm glad you've found another mentor. Thank you for letting me know that you will be unavailable in July and August! I wish you the best on your vacation! If there's anything I can help with, feel free to ask me! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:18, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
I would like to make a request for adminship for Robert McClenon. They said I could do it but the problem is that they said that they don't think that people will vote for them just because I was the the user who made the nomination. What do I do?StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) I am taking a vacation in summer and won't edit in July and August. 12:24, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Do you think Robert McClenon would be a good administrator?StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) I am taking a vacation in summer and won't edit in July and August. 12:30, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: Yes, I do think Robert McClenon would be a good admin. Take a look here at how to nominate a candidate for admin. Hope this helps! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:40, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Happened upon this and checked the context. Robert said you "could" do it, that is, he could not actually prevent you from doing it. This is a different thing to him saying he wanted you to do it. Yes, RfAs are judged quite heavily on the quality of the nominators -- see this example from earlier this year (and the nominator in that case is now sitebanned). Robert is a respected editor who has run RfA before, and his advice to you that he wants an admin to nominate him if he's to run should be taken quite seriously. Vaticidalprophet 12:44, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Ok. I won't do it.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) I am taking a vacation in summer and won't edit in July and August. 12:48, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

@JackReynoldsADogOwner:Can I nominate you for adminstrator?StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) I am taking a vacation in summer and won't edit in July and August. 16:53, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: That is very nice of you to ask. But no thank you. I am still kind of new and still learning. Thank you, though! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 16:56, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Could you please give me some feedback on Draft:Super Heavy (rocket stage) please? I have added more sources as you suggested and I also added a Development section.StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 12:15, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS: Good job adding the Development section on there. I've moved it to the top since that's the appropriate place to be. Along with that, good job adding other sources. One thing that does stand out to me is the subsections underneath List of Super Heavy Boosters with the Booster BN1. I think the proper way to implement them is to have ; before the boosters. So it would be ;Booster BN1 instead of === Booster BN1 === . Other than that, keep on finding resources and I will do my best to help you with the draft article! Please adopt me

Hi Jack(hope i could call you that), Kindly adopt me. My primary interest is putting People & Places in Africa, or any other good articles, on Wikipedia. I need your guidance. I'll be doing this for a long time. Thanks. Akinola777 (talk) 08:26, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

@Akinola777: Hi! Of course I can adopt you! It's my pleasure to do so! I'm currently adopting three other users, so if I'm delayed on anything, that's probably why. Other than that, I hope you have read over WP:AAU to understand what being adopted mean and what's expected of you. Are there any pages/drafts you want me look at and revise/give you feedback on? If so, don't hesitate to send them my way! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 11:48, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Hey, I saw you again tagged for a CSD here in page Space Diner!. I request you to look page history before tagging such kind of CSD's as I had already requested for CSD but some IP was reverting the edit and I was about to revert it again but saw that you tagged CSD again. Forgot to summarize edits made

Hello Jack, Added some Islands to List of artificial islands but forgot to describe my edits. Should i do a dummy edit or undo my changes? What's the best i could do? Akinola777 (talk) 17:15, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

@Akinola777: Ah, that situation. You're fine. You don't have to dummy edit or undo your changes. I sometimes forget to describe edits. If somebody reverts your edit, I'd suggest reaching out to them about your edit and how you forgot to add an edit summary. Now, there is a way where you must add a edit summary every time you edit a page. To enable it, go to your Preferences and underneath the tab "Editing" (which is next to "Appearance"), select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary)". Hope this helps! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 17:24, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Should i publish, your continuous help needed

Hello Jack, i'm writing about artificial islands, i just created this article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Gracefield_Island) and want to publish it. Is this okay? i assume i or anyone else can always edit it further? Should i just hit the 'Submit the draft for review' button ...and ...wow, i'm published?! And can you help guide me on improving it as i want to use this(and others to come) to build my wikipedia editing skills. Thanks. MooNeighTalk (talk) 15:10, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

@Akinola777: Hi! I reviewed over the article that you created and it's not suitable (nor ready) for the mainspace. The reason why I say that is because:

  1. You need to edit how sources are referenced. See {{cite web}} and {{cite news}}
  2. The article seem more of a advertising than an article. You can fix that by:
    1. Changing the word selection
    2. Add more information (meaning development, history, etc.
  3. Needs correct template in there. It seems as if there's not what so ever.

Another thing, when you hit the Submit the draft for review, it does not mean that your page is immediately in the mainspace. A user with new pages reviewer ability (or an admin) will review over your draft and they can either accept it and move it to the mainspace or decline and state the reasoning. Note, there are 4,926 pages that are in the draft space and awaiting to be reviewed. So, it will take some time. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:24, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

My profile jrolland1980 and my pages on electronic invoicing in France, Italy and Latin America

Hello,

My profile jrolland1980 and 3 pages I produced were deleted under express deletion process. There was no advertising, promotion or anything of the sort. I tried to make a series of academic-oriented pages on the topic of electronic invoicing. It seems the removal is unjustified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbrolland1980 (talkcontribs) 16:10, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
