Welcome!

Hello, Iuio, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Templates

[edit]

Could you please stop making templates, and could you please stop re-creating deleted content. You're welcome to edit the encyclopedia, but we really don't need a separate "This user reads ... " for each amendment of the Constitution. Templates are for helping to write the encyclopedia, not for the use of single people to make dozens and then link to them from their userpage. Everything you did in template space you could have just done in your userspace. Actually, that would've been much preferable. Remember, Template: namespace is not userspace. --Cyde Weys 23:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Adam Savage image

[edit]

Please refrain from adding fair-use images to your userpage. This is not allowed, per WP:FUC. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 23:46, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've protected your user page until you stop reinserting this image, as it isn't allowed. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 06:13, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, I'll stop inserting the Adam Savage image into my user page. Now unprotect it. (Iuio 06:19, 26 September 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Fair enough. Unprotected. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 06:21, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No hard feelings? (Iuio 07:15, 26 September 2006 (UTC))[reply]
I don't ever take intarweb drama seriously. I understand why you got irritated; it's one of those rules that sucks. If you still want an image, I suggest tracking down a free image of Adam Savage; we could use one for the Adam Savage article, and you could use a free image on your userpage. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 08:07, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Paul Franklin (soldier), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Fsotrain09 19:25, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The links to the notability guidelines, as well as WP:BIO are good places to start looking for ways in which the article can better assert the subject's notability. -Fsotrain09 19:35, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I did read your reason, but I had no idea that the article was previously created/deleted either, until you told me. I don't really know what to tell you, except that a)a case for speedy deletion is much stronger when dealing with recreated content, and b)the subject itself does not appear to meet WP:BIO, so probably little can be done for notability even if the requisite sources are referenced. As for the anon. comments on the Talk page, yes, they aren't very helpful, but as they don't cross the line into personal attacks against you, (last I checked), I don't feel comfortable removing them. -Fsotrain09 02:11, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seal of the United States Senate

[edit]

There's been some back and forth edits on what graphic should be used as the Seal of the United States Senate in the United States Senate article. In order to resolve the disagreement, I'm trying to start some discussion on the issue on the article's talk page. Since you're one of the editors that has edited the Senate article in regards to the Seal graphic, I thought I'd let you know about the discussion in case you want to weigh in. Thanks. - Walkiped (T | C) 06:47, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't look like a vandal. Please provide an edit summary when you edit.

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Will (Talk - contribs) 21:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This message was applied to your talk page because you left the summary out of at least one edit. As for which edit, since the templates available to me don't provide a way for me to list which one, I suggest you check your contribs.
I normally check the edit summary before deciding whether or not to wait on the diff to load (which takes a lot of time). I feel I must load the diff if no summary is provided. When you provide that summary, you speed up my patrol because I feel more comfortable skipping the diff load. Will (Talk - contribs) 20:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's the connection that's slow. Besides, I would still insist on doing something. Will (Talk - contribs) 20:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be extremely low:

Edit summary usage for Iuio: 19% for major edits and 100% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 1 minor edits in the article namespace.

Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 19:09, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Several of the pages you recently updated were on my watchlist. Since you chose not to use an edit summary to describe your changes, I double-checked each of the article on my watchlist to ensure the edits were not vandalism, copyrighted text, or any of the myriad other bad things that can happen. To use your edit of the Royal Navy article as an example, if 100 people have this article on their watchlists, you just made 100 people go and make sure your edit was a good, beneficial edit. However if you had used a short, descriptive edit summary to describe your change (such as added category), the vast majority of people may have checked one of your edits, but not all of them. Using good edit summaries makes the lives of your fellow editors a lot easier. You can view the edit summary usage of any editor by putting their user name into the mathbot tool. --Kralizec! (talk) 19:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same policy. I should also note that some anti-vandalism bots might have been programmed to treat edits without summaries as more likely to be vandalism than those with summaries. It is quite important! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Will Pittenger (talkcontribs) 16:42, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Regarding your reply [1] on my talk page, one of the Webster's Dictionary definitions for "rude" is marked by or suggestive of lack of training or skill. As wikipedia's guideline on WP:ES indicates that editors should "always fill in the summary field," then yes, not using edit summaries could be considered by many to be "rude." However, keeping the WP:BITE guideline in mind, I prefer not to think of failing to write edit summaries as being "rude" or unskilled, but instead as new editors who may not yet be familiar with the many guidelines and official policies on wikipedia. Hence why I left a friendly "please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries" on your talk page. --Kralizec! (talk) 14:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - I'll go ahead and add my name but I only watch it once in a while. Since one of my article nominations was a USCOTW, I thought I should help in the process. Sorry about not archiving. Since I don't check it very often, it wasn't until January when I looked at switching it. Since there were not that many nominations, I didn't feel too bad about giving it a little longer on the COTW. Morphh (talk) 01:23, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi luio, thank you for all your hard work and interesting edits and additions. I have a request, I have been watching the Frank Welker page and keeping it clean and lean. I find that the succession boxes are a little too much information that would be better served on each indiviual actors pages. Also, because the the role of Megatron was created by Frank Welker I think it is better just to address the relevance of his particiption. He is still actively doing Megatron projects and did the DVD game, based on the recent film and the premium DVD for Kmart as an addition to the film. And Megatron for a game for Hasbro all in 2007. Corey Burton did Megatron for the recent TV series. Thanks again and keep up the good work.--User:Greensmaster 16:47, 09 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Book plots

Line breaks

[edit]

Hi.

You have put in too many line breaks in hockey templates. I think I know why. It's because the goals in some cases do not seem to align align with the scorers, if scorers' (and assisters') names are long. I think this is due to how wide your screen is. If it's wide enough, this problem does not occur. Instead there appears a superfluous line-break. So I'll remove the extra line-breaks.

Cheers.

Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. -FASTILY (TALK) 17:53, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Merci (company) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence provided or found to indicate this to be more than a company going about its business. Fails WP:NCORP.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Merci (company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
