[edit]

The recent edit you made to Midland Park High School has been reverted, as it introduced unsourced or poorly sourced negative or controversial biographical material. Please do not continue to add such information. Thank you. NellieBly (talk) 01:01, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Midland Park High School. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Carmichael95 [TALK] | [CONTRIBS] 01:05, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit was somewhat negative towards the decision that was made by the school. If you are going to write that, it needs to be sourced. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions...I will be more than happy to help out. Carmichael95 [TALK] | [CONTRIBS] 01:14, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Midland Park High School, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by ClueBot NG.

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Midland Park High School. Coffee // have a cup // essay // 02:21, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been indefinitely blocked from editing for Vandalism. If you feel this block is unjustified, you may contest it by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Coffee // have a cup // essay // 02:28, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My edit to Midland Park High School was benevolent and unbiased. User:Coffee has mistakenly viewed the edit as vandalism. This was an unjustified block. Midland Park High School is the only article that I have edited. Please unblock my edit ability. If you disagree with my claim, please post here. Thanks, User:IntellectualPie.

Decline reason:

I disagree; it was indeed vandalism. --jpgordon::==( o ) 03:43, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Can you please expand on that statement? My edit was sourced and relevant to the topic, Midland Park High School. As an administrator, it is unfair of you to state that my academic edit to the article was "vandalism" with out backing up that claim with proof. Furthermore, I see no reason for an indefinite ban on my editing. Please respond, User:IntellectualPie :)

Decline reason:

Your edit was not supported by a reliable source; the proof you ask for can be found in your edit. If you have questions regarding your block you can ask them without using the unblock template. Misuse of the unblock template will likely result in your losing the ability to edit this page. Tiderolls 07:51, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the point you make about my edit, yet I do not see justification for an indefinite block. I would like this to be considered thoroughly. My edit to Midland Park High School was not malicious or nonsensical, but only was not sourced properly. As such, I would like my ban to be removed with the understanding that I will source my edits correctly in the future. Thank you for your consideration, User:IntellectualPie

Understood, but I do not see how this warrants an indefinite block. That move seems analogous to a life sentence for shoplifting. Especially being that Midland Park High School was the only page I "vandalized". Do you see my point? Thanks, User:IntellectualPie

It's not analogous with a life sentence for shoplifting... it's like being banned permanently from the store for shoplifting 4 times, and not heeding any warnings. Coffee // have a cup // essay // 21:28, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but what about all of the other "stores"? Have I stolen from there as well? May I not enter any of them, because of my experience at one? Your punishment seems a bit unreasonable. User:IntellectualPie

  • Tell ya what I'm willing to do. Providing User:Coffee is agreeable, I would volunteer to watch over your edits if you would agree to some restrictions. They will be strict as I have a job and cannot monitor this site during a significant portion of the day. If you want me to set out the restrictions I will approach Coffee about the idea. Tiderolls 00:06, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds fine.User:IntellectualPie

I've left Coffee a message. If they think this is a good idea I will set out the restrictions. I don't know how long this will take so this will be your first hurdle. Patience. Tiderolls 00:23, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your (possible) unblock

[edit]

I've received Coffee's permission to begin an unblock process. I will outline the restrictions I believe necessary soon so that you may comment. It will be tonight (US time), though, before I have time to spare. Tiderolls 11:53, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Before you were blocked several editors left you messages containing links to various guidelines and policies that this project uses to provide an encouraging environment for those users that wish to be constructive. (Not to be patronizing, but "blue" text is clickable and will open the page that is in the link) I want to make clear that if you had followed those links and stopped to discuss any questions or concerns regarding Wikipedia's conventions and processes, most of your difficulties could have been avoided. I would advise you to actually read Wikipedia's five pillars that were linked in the welcome message above. The fourth pillar contains a reference to the concept of consensus. With so many diverse individuals and ideas there is a requirement for a process to keep chaos and disorganization to a minimum. This process is discussion.
  • If you read the Five pillars and wish to continue I would like to hear any ideas regarding how you plan to help out here. If you have specific edits in mind, please include them. If your ideas are more general in nature we can work with that as well. I hope you decide to make the effort because we always need the help of conscientious volunteers. I'll watch this page for any questions you may have. Regards Tiderolls 00:20, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Tide rolls:: Hello sir.

Angelina Jolie's page: reference 16 on her page says nothing about a 72 hour admission to a psychiatric ward, therefore, this part of the page needs a new citation. IntellectualPie (talk) 02:08, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
