Welcome to Wikipedia

Hello, Ilphin, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles! But we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site.

If you need help see:

Here are a few more good links for newcomers:

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Thanks for your interest in helpng out with the Raymond Feist articles. There are many that need to be started. Take a good look around and see what has been done so far. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on the article's talk page, or you can ask me or any other editor specifically on their talk page. I look in on those articles occasionally now, as I have begun work on something else, but will return to Raymond Feist eventually.

Give it your best shot and do what you feel needs to be done. Have fun!

Hi! Just noticed that you have signed on as a participant in WikiProject Computer science, and wanted to welcome you to the project. Please stop by the project talk page to see what the other participants have on their minds right now, and to add your own thoughts. --Allan McInnes (talk) 16:01, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

[edit]

Hi I was just about to add myself to the Computer Science project participants list when I noticed you go to UWA :) I'm at UWA to user: meo3. If you fancy tag teaming an article some time or meeting up for a beer let me know. Also I'm a big fan of Feist strangely enough :/ so if you want to do an article about that I'm there. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:09, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 16:58, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
