Question

[edit]

This is a shot in the dark, and obviously you don't have to answer, but it would clear up some questions that I have - is this account run by Emily Dolenz? Wes sideman (talk) 14:01, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, my name is Emily Wells, I live in Connecticut, and I am a model and work in hospitality. I am not Micky’s daughter, who has the same name. My username on Wikipedia is HomecomingQueenEmily. I am also NOT Sarah Taylor (previously Combs), who lives in Virginia, and goes by the user name RegionalGirl. I have a website all about me: loveisonlysleeping.com. I also have a site for the Monkees: loveisonlysleeping.com/monkees o have photos of Micky from knowing him. And you can see more photos of him and myself on my website. If it is a conflict of interest submitting photos, because I know him personally, then, by all means, reject them. But now, I have now been *unfairly blocked* on Wikipedia, because you have accused me of being Sarah Taylor. I am not Sarah Taylor. I don’t know why Sarah’s and my different IP addresses wouldn’t reflect that she is in Virginia, and I am in Connecticut. We don’t even live in driving distance if each other. HomecomingQueenEmily (talk) 19:55, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IP geolocations are not 100% reliable - if they were, my role here would be a lot easier. If you think your block is unfair, you can read WP:GAB and make an unblock request - another admin will review my block. To be clear though, you will need to explain your assertion that you received an e-mail notification about a post left on another account's talk page. That is not something that happens - it is technically impossible, notifications only go to the email associated with the account whose talk page it is. By the way, Wes sideman - please don't ask people to reveal their identity, even if they are blocked. I recognise that you qualified it with 'you don't have to answer', but generally speaking, just don't do it. Even if they said they were a particular person, we can't establish the veracity of any such claim here. If it needs to be established (which is not necessary here), that's done through WP:VRT. Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 20:16, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, Girth Summit. Sorry about that. Will avoid that completely from now on. Wes sideman (talk) 12:00, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I do understand that IP addresses are not always perfectly reliable, but I was hoping that you would be able to see something on your end from our IPs to show that Sarah and I live several states apart. I couldn’t possibly have driven to her location and then returned to mine within the minutes that she and I were both writing online. As for Wes asking me about my identity, I also did not think that was necessary here, however, since I present as a somewhat public figure, and have a website as it is, I was comfortable disclosing that, if it helped resolve this situation. As far as why I responded to what I did, I am not sure why it came to my email at all, but it was a notification that came to my email, I clicked it, and when I clicked it, it said “you“. The word, “you”. I read on the screen it was worded in the second person, as if to me, “You”. I now realize that maybe reading someone else’s “talk page”, it still words it as “you” even when reading someone else’s page??? Maybe that’s why it said, “you”? I’m not sure. I was very confused by why I was being accused of what it was, which is why I responded the way I did. But then, when I saw the wording was to RegionalGirl, I went back and deleted it, realizing it was not actually to me, HomecomingQueenEmily. You’re saying it’s impossible, but I could show you screenshots of the exact email that came to me that I clicked on. It came to the email associated with HomecomingQueenEmily, and when I clicked it, it said “you”. I will yes, the asking for the block to be removed, for me, Emily. As I mentioned earlier, all of this started because of the Micky Infobox picture, which I’ve already stated I no longer care about. The accounts RegionalGirl and HomecomingQueenEmily are absolutely run by two different people who live in two different parts of America. And i would be happy to prove that in anyway you would like to suggest. HomecomingQueenEmily (talk) 22:34, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My theory is that you are two (or more) people with a shared agenda editing in concert. People think socking has to be the same person. That is not the case. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:05, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:RegionalGirl137 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/RegionalGirl137. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Girth Summit (blether) 19:07, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Insert your reason to be unblocked here HomecomingQueenEmily (talk) 02:49, 6 February 2023 (UTC) On January 27, 2023, I received many emails coming to my email connected with my username, HomecomingQueenEmily, that were links to various people discussing things on Wikipedia of what I now understand is the Talk Page of user RegionalGirl137. I'm not sure why I got all these emails, but maybe I was tagged in the discussion. When I, HomecomingQueenEmily, clicked on these links in my email, the first thing I saw, not fully understanding what a user Talk Page is, is that it said, "You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia." with a Stop Sign there. Reading the wording "YOU" I responded thinking this was to me, HomecomingQueenEmily. When I read the top of the page said this was to RegionalGirl137, NOT to me, I went back and deleted what I wrote. I have now been blocked unfairly because I was accused of being the SAME PERSON as RegionalGirl137, for making this mistake. But I can assure you we are two different people who live in two very separate locations, and I request to be unblocked. I was told it was "not possible" for it to say "you" when I am logged into my account, HomecomingQueenEmily and it's to RegionalGirl137, but to this day, right now, when I go back to my emails from January 27 from Wikipedia--if I click on them, the ones that bring me to RegionalGirl137's Talk Page page, it *still* says "You". This is VERY confusing to someone new to Wikipedia editing as it looks, visually, like it's to me, HomecomingQueenEmily. I have even taken a *screen shot* of this, because it is apparently not believed, and I would be happy to present this screen shot somewhere. I would be happy to post this screen shot wherever a photo may be uploaded. Please review my account HomecomingQueenEmily and RegionalGirl137 to show we are absolutely not the same person, and please unblock my account.[reply]

Decline reason:

You are focused on disproving the allegation you believe is being made that you are one person claiming to be two different people. Aside from the fact that many other people in your situation make the same offers of "proof" that cannot be independently verified, since anyone can say anything on the Internet and create documentation to prove it, you have done nothing to disprove what Deepfriedokra pointed to above—that while you and RegionalGirl might indeed be different people, you could be working together to make edits that a single editor alone would not be allowed to. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:36, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Is this ENTIRE argument that you believe that I "conspired" with another person, several states away, just to change a photo on Wikipedia? Even after I, long ago, said I no longer care about this photo? No one cares. No one cares about this picture any longer. None of this reaction is normal. I made some strange faux pas, being new to editing Wikipedia, and everyone suddenly is trying to terrorize me because of it. There is no sense in any of this. I had many photos to contribute that would have enriched your Wikipedia pages, and you are destroying your resources by these insane, sad power games. @Daniel_Case
