Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, HaidongLiu, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Elysia and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hemicellulose

[edit]

Thank you for your note about upgrading hemicellulose. Wikipedia chemistry/polymer projects have interacted with many similar homework assignments. Many interactions are not very favorable. So here is my advice:

  • if your instructor is not experienced with Wikipediia, your project is severely disadvantaged.
  • editors at Wikipedia know much more chemistry and materials science than your class.
  • we have a manual of style. Follow it. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Chemistry
  • please rely on reviews and books, not primary journal articles. See WP:SECONDARY, WP:TERTIARY.
  • if you make a very big change, it will probably be removed.
  • It is probably a good idea to make small changes and see what happens.

Most importantly, good luck and, again, ask for help.--Smokefoot (talk) 13:41, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
