Your TfD close

[edit]

Greetings! I re-opened and re-closed the debate on Template:Listadmins - while you called the close correctly, a non-admin should never close a deletion debate with respect to a page that he or she was involved in creating. Indeed, an admin should really never do so either. You have the admin qualities, I think, but the duties are tied to the position. Be patient and you'll get there. Cheers! BD2412 T 23:18, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please see rule #3 of Wikipedia:Deletion process#Non-Administrators closing discussions. Yes, a non-admin can disclose a discussion, but "Non-administrators should not close discussions in which they have been involved". Cheers! BD2412 T 23:46, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Tssk, I was being complimentary. You took an admin action (closing a discussion in which you yourself had been involved) - but you did it correctly. In short, you did the wrong thing right - I'm not suggesting that you acted with malice or disregard for the rules, just that you unknowingly did something not permitted. However, perhaps you should be in a position to be so permitted. BD2412 T 00:08, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice 666 template

But according to the wikipedia clocks it's now 766 or 676 now depending on how you write your date. :D Charlie( t | e ) 01:49, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Main Page Firefox 2.jpg

[edit]

I tagged Image:Main Page Firefox 2.jpg with the {{badJPEG}} tag because images such as screenshots, maps, flags, graphs, charts, diagrams, and other images which have a few well-defined colors, sharp edges, and large blocks of color should almost always be saved in the PNG format, not the JPEG format, because JPEG suffers from compression artifacts. The JPEG format is best for photographs, paintings, and similar pictures. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload for more information. Feel free to let me know if you have other questions. —Bkell (talk) 04:00, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Must say I'm a fan of your Random Picture of the day... pictures are great ways to build articles. I uploaded Image:Queen square.jpg for June 13, 2006, but if you find it uninteresting, here's a substitute: Image:Lab coat and scrubs.jpg. Thanks. -- Samir धर्म 11:20, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page and talk page

[edit]

Why did you make it look like the Main page? I also know that your user page is not deleted. That's because you used a trick template. FellowWikipedian 01:36, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template deletions

[edit]

I deleted them because they were pointless eg. {{Italics}}, there is no point of having a template to italicize when you can type "''" around the words, and because nobody, or vrey fre people, were using them. --Shanel § 00:42, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warning.

[edit]

Regarding your edit to User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me:

Inserting silly HTML comments in people's comments is vandalism. It's a guestbook section, not a vandalism section.

I won't bother subst'ing the warning, but it's something you should be aware of. Cheers. 142.46.199.175 23:59, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was a vandalism section and that's that. And Nathan, don't log off to warn me. --GeorgeMoney T·C 00:02, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, it wasn't, and I'll prove it. Go to CSCWEM's userpage. Look at where the sections start and end.

That is part of the "Other Insomniacs" section, not the Vandalism section which was below that. This should settle the argument once and for all. — Nathan (talk) 00:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RFCU clerk

[edit]

Please read Essjay's comment at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Clerks/Requests#Clerk role & impartiality. While I think your comment regarding David91 is accurate in every respect, it does not seem to fit Essjay's conception of our role. (There is also discussion at User:Essjay/Archives/34#More clerkcruft.) Cheers. Thatcher131 16:10, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Essjay made a comment somewhere about "If you can express the length of time in months and years rather than days and weeks, its too long for checkuser." I would tend to think that comment could be safely made, although I'm still trying to be very cautious myself. I asked him after I made this comment and he said it was fine because it was neutral and provided useful information. The time frame might fall into the same category, but I think the evidence and fishing issues did not (although as I said, you are entirely correct). If course, if someone who is not a clerk came along and made the same comment it would be no problem at all. :) Thatcher131 16:22, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject

[edit]

HEllo GeorgeMoney. I am Thetruthbelow, and I came here today to ask you to assist with a Wikiproject that myself and Moe Epsilon will be starting around the 26th of June. It will be called "The User Page Design Commitee", and we will assist users in creating User pages. I was wondering if you would like to be out third and last founder of the project. Give me your thoughts. Thetruthbelow 21:25, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

Thanks, I will ask them. Thetruthbelow 21:32, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Darn. :-( — The King of Kings 21:46, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sceptre said yes, so as of now we have you, myself, moe, and sceptere as founders. As of now, I am creating a rough draft of the project page. Thetruthbelow 22:02, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Made Wikiproject

[edit]

I have just started the Wikiproject here. It is right here, and I would appreciate any work on it or the subpages that you do. Thanks, Thetruthbelow 22:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is really a rough draft, so make as many changes as you want. Thetruthbelow 22:30, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You mind if I move the Particpants section into the Designers sub-page? — The King of Kings 22:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would prefer that. Thetruthbelow 22:45, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

They look good. Why don't you go ahead with that, and I will recruit some designers? This project is going to be great. Thetruthbelow 22:59, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Deleted!!!

[edit]

Hey Tony Sidaway just deleted the project! Why? Thetruthbelow 23:24, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion. If Moe's attempt doesn't work out, will you arrange the deletion review as I have to leave soon. Thanks, and I hope it doesn't come to this, Thetruthbelow 23:38, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the pics. AS of now, Moe is taking it to the deletion review, and I will be participating. Will you be there too? Thetruthbelow 23:40, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deletion review

[edit]

Moe Epsilon has started a deletion review for the Wikiproject. Your comments would be appreciated. Thetruthbelow 23:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. :-) — The King of Kings 00:19, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I sent you a transcript of what the e-mails said. I sent the first one on mistake because I accidentally hit enter, so the e-mail is blank :D Ignore that one. Read the second one. :) — The King of Kings 00:24, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your support in my RfA, which ended with the result of (74/0/0). If there is anything I can help with feel free to ask. Also, if there is anything I am doing wrong, please point that out as well. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Hey george. Well they now how the wikiproject up for mfd here. You thoughts would be appreciated. Thetruthbelow 04:51, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New pages

[edit]

Hey Geore, do you like the two new pages I created on the Do-It-Yourself section? I am trying to expand it, so any help would be appreciated. Thetruthbelow 02:10, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

formatting

[edit]

hey george whatever you are doing, I can't view the pages anymore. Can you go back to the way they were before? Thetruthbelow 02:51, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

can we not have the headers? It was better before and it really is messing up my IE. Thetruthbelow 02:53, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
THe problem was that the header was going over the text, and therefore erasing half of the text from the computer. Thetruthbelow 02:56, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am making new headers, tell me what you think.Thetruthbelow 03:05, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we shouldn't do header. The title of the page without them is ugly, but at least it doesn't mess up the formatting of the page. Thetruthbelow 03:08, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GREAT JOB EXPANDING

[edit]

sorry about the caps, but you did a great job on expanding the font format section of the DO-it-yourself. Thetruthbelow 02:58, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move wikiproject

[edit]

Would you have any objection to me changing the project name to "Wikiproject:User page help"? Let me know, as I won't make any changes till after I have your opinion. Thetruthbelow 04:11, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good Suggestion about the move, but I already moved the page and all of its sub pages. The title is now Wikiproject:User Page Help. Thanks, Thetruthbelow 04:36, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just as bad

[edit]

Sorry, but the header is just as bad. I tried viewing it on another computer, and It is still bad. I am going to revert it. Thanks for trying. Thetruthbelow 04:52, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was overflowing and eating the text. I think that we are better without the header, although I love headers myself. Thetruthbelow 04:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

perfect

[edit]

yes. Its is perfect. After you do the first page though, let me know to see if it is alright. Thanks, Thetruthbelow 05:09, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

well, the height is good, in that it is not eating the text. However, the left side of the heading doesn't go all the way over, so that you see half of the first letter. Thetruthbelow 05:15, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you see about half of the first letter of the orignal heading. Thetruthbelow 05:20, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Its good, except that the links below it to the other pages, such as the main page, aren't there. Good we just not do the headers? It isn't working. Thetruthbelow 06:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IT WORKS

[edit]

Its perfect now. Don't change a thing. Thetruthbelow 06:16, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Try one, and I will check it to make sure it works. Thank you for doing all this, I really appreciate it. Thetruthbelow 06:20, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Headers

[edit]

Lets not use the big headings on the Wikipedia namespace only our userspace. Its probably highly frowned upon to do it elsewhere. — The King of Kings 06:31, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, its more trouble than it is worth. Thanks for trying though. Thetruthbelow 06:33, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The trouble I was talking about was the possible complaints from users, such as the admin that tried to delete us in the first place (I think you know to whom I refer ;D. The page is okay without them, and I really don't want any more negative attention on the page. I appreciate all of your work though. Thetruthbelow 06:38, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it is very ugly without them :( But nothing we can do. Better not put the project in the line of any more fire. — The King of Kings 06:39, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I think the font family part of the project is really useful. We have done really good on a project that was only started today. Congrats everyone. Thetruthbelow 06:46, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
